William P. Bettendorf (July 1, 1857 – June 3, 1910) was a German-American inventor. He is credited with the invention of the power lift sulky plow, the Bettendorf metal wheel and the one-piece railroad truck frame. By the age of 53 he held 94 patents. With his younger brother, Joseph W. Bettendorf, he founded the Bettendorf Axle Company. His first wife and children preceded him in death. He died as the company was rapidly expanding and before he moved into a palatial home he was building. The city of Bettendorf, Iowa is named after the two brothers.

Oakdale Memorial Gardens, formerly Oakdale Cemetery, is located in east-central Davenport, Iowa, United States. It contains a section for the burial of pets called the Love of Animals Petland. In 2015, the cemetery was listed as an historic district on the National Register of Historic Places, and as a local landmark on the Davenport Register of Historic Properties. It is also listed on the Network to Freedom, a National Park Service registry for sites associated with the Underground Railroad.

The Collins House is a historic building located on the eastside of Davenport, Iowa, United States. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1976, and on the Davenport Register of Historic Properties since 1993. Built as a farmhouse in 1860 the city of Davenport purchased the property and renovated it for a senior center in the mid-1970s.

The Oak Lane Historic District is located on the east side of Davenport, Iowa, United States. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1984. The historic district is a residential area that stretches along Oak Lane between High Street on the north and East Locust Street on the south. There are 27 houses that make up the district. Twenty-three houses are located on Oak Lane and four are on Locust Street, the three immediately to the west of Oak Lane and one immediately to the east.

Temple Emanuel is a Reform synagogue located on the east side of Davenport, Iowa, United States. Organized in 1861, it is the oldest Jewish congregation in Iowa. It is affiliated with the Union for Reform Judaism (UAHC). In the 1830s, a dozen Jews were among the first residents of Davenport, and the synagogue was established after substantial numbers of Jews from Germany settled there in the 1850s. The congregation began with an Orthodox rabbi, but they soon embraced the Reform movement, as well as services in English rather than in German. In 2021, they entered into a sharing agreement with Congregation Beth Israel, and the two share a joint home called the Beit Shalom Jewish Community.

The James Cawley House is a historic house located on the eastside of Davenport, Iowa, United States. James Cawley was a bricklayer who had this house built in 1876. His wife continued to live here into the 1890s after his death. The house follows a popular Vernacular style of architecture from the mid to late 19th-century Davenport known as the McClelland style. The unusual feature of this house in comparison to other examples in the city is the bank construction that allows for a walk-in basement on the front of the house. It is also one of the few McClelland style houses found in the Fulton Addition. Otherwise, the two-story brick house features a three-bay front-gabled form and rectangular shape, both elements typical of the style. The large porch on the front is not original to the house. The residence was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

Woeber Carriage Works, also known as the G. Hager & Co. Carriage Works and the Davenport Plow Works, is a historic building located on Lot 3, Block 20 of the original town of Davenport, Iowa, United States. It was listed on the Davenport Register of Historic Properties on November 15, 2000. In 2020 it was included as a contributing property in the Davenport Downtown Commercial Historic District on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Claim House is a historic building located in Davenport, Iowa, United States. The oldest part of the house dates from the early 1830s, and it is thought to be the oldest structure in the city. The house was listed on the Davenport Register of Historic Properties in 1992.
