The Kleine Emme is a river of the canton of Lucerne, Switzerland, a left tributary of the Reuss extending for 58 km, draining a basin of 477 km². It is not to be confused with the Emme of the canton of Berne. The Kleine Emme rises as the Waldemme in the southwestern corner of the canton of Obwalden, in the Brienzer Rothorn massif at the Emmensprung, flowing north-west along the Mariental, past Sörenberg. Turning north, it enters the Entlebuch region, where it is joined by the Weissemme near Schüpfheim and by the Entlen at Entlebuch. After receiving the Fontannen, it turns to the east at Wolhusen where it is joined by the Wigger and later by the Rümlig. From here, it flows parallel to the Pilatus chain, past Malters, joining the Reuss at Emmen, 2 km downstream of Lake Lucerne.

Until the December 2022 timetable change, the station was named Rothenburg Dorf, after the nearby municipality of Rothenburg.

The Château Gütsch is a historic château in Lucerne, Switzerland. In 1859, Burkhard Pfyffer bought a plot of land on the Gütsch hill from the town and was granted the right to run an inn. The inn was then bought by Ignaz Businger in 1879 and expanded into a hotel. Like many hotels of the Belle Epoque, The Château Gütsch was built on a vantage point above lakes, rivers, and cities, in this case the city Lucerne and the river Reuss. The Château was built in 1884 specifically to support the hotel. In 1868 Queen Victoria stayed at a site near the hotel with Prince Arthur and Princess Louise.As part of a significant transalpine railroad development and modernization plan in Switzerland in the second half of the 19th century, a railline was built connecting Lucerne to the château.A large part of the hotel was completely destroyed in the great fire of 1888. In 1901 the hotel received its present appearance, being modelled after Neuschwanstein in Bavaria.It was purchased by Evgeny Lebedev in 2012, who commissioned Martyn Lawrence Bullard to renovate it.The current owner is Kirill Androsov.

The Gütsch Funicular, also known as the Drahtseilbahn Gütsch (DBG) or simply the Gütschbahn, is a funicular railway in the city of Lucerne in the Swiss canton of Lucerne. The line links a lower station located on Baselstrasse, some 1 kilometre (0.62 mi) west of the centre of the city, with an upper station adjacent to the Château Gütsch hotel, 90 m above. The Château Gütsch was constructed between 1881 and 1883 on a site overlooking the city of Lucerne and modelled on the architecture of Neuschwanstein Castle in Bavaria. In order to link the hotel to the city, the water-powered Gütschbahn funicular was opened on 22 August 1884. The line continued operating until 21 April 2008, when service ceased until further notice. After rebuilding, the line reopened on 26 September 2015.In its current guise the line is operated by Verkehrsbetriebe Luzern, the city's transport operator, and is integrated into zone 10 of the city's integrated fare system. Natur-Museum Luzern or Lucerne Nature Museum is a museum in the Swiss city of Lucerne. It is situated on Kasernenplatz, beside the river Reuss and the Spreuerbrücke. Exhibits in the museum include stuffed animals, minerals/crystals, and insects. The museum is open Tuesday to Sunday and there is a fee for entry.The stated goals of the museum translate as 'presenting natural history information to the public, maintaining and presenting collections and increasing awareness of nature and the environment'.
