Woodhaven is a city in Wayne County, Michigan, United States. As of the 2010 census, the city had a population of 12,875. It is part of a collection of communities known as Downriver.

Gabriel Richard Catholic High School, usually referred to as Gabriel Richard or simply GR, is a Catholic, coed high school in Riverview, Michigan, United States, south of Detroit. Named after Father Gabriel Richard, the school was established in 1965, with the first class graduating in 1969. It currently has approximately 300 students and approximately 25 full-time teachers, giving a student-to-teacher ratio of approximately 12:1. Located in the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Detroit, Gabriel Richard Catholic High School has also been fully accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools since the 1993–94 school year.

Southgate Thomas J. Anderson High School is a public high school in Southgate, Michigan, United States. A part of the Southgate Community School District, it serves Southgate and a section of Allen Park.

Trenton High School is a public high school in Trenton, Michigan, one of four schools in the Trenton Public School District. The school serves the city of Trenton and is a magnet school for special education students, specifically for those with hearing disabilities, from across Downriver. Enrollment for the 2012-13 school year was about 1200.

Southland Center (also known as Southland Mall) is an enclosed mall located at 23000 Eureka Road in Taylor, Michigan (a Downriver community located southwest of Detroit), exactly halfway between U.S. Highway 24 (Telegraph Road) and the Interstate 75 freeway. The anchor stores are Cinemark Theatres, Forever 21, Best Buy, Shoe Carnival, JCPenney, and Macy's. Other major stores include H&M and Ulta Beauty. It is the newest of the Detroit area's four "land" malls (Northland, Southland, Eastland, Westland). Southland Center opened on July 20, 1970. It is owned and managed by Brookfield Properties, one of the largest mall owners in the United States.

Brownstown Charter Township is a charter township in Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan. Its population was 30,627 at the 2010 census. Brownstown was established in 1827, a decade prior to Michigan's admission to the Union. Brownstown has three separate but connected segments due to the incorporation of the cities of Flat Rock, Rockwood, and Woodhaven in the early 1960s.

The Detroit Business Institute (previously known as Detroit Business University and Goldsmith, Bryant & Stratton Business College) is an educational institute focusing on medical training founded in Detroit, Michigan. The school has held several campuses but is now located in Riverview, Michigan.

Riverview is a city in Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 12,486 at the 2010 census.Riverview is a suburb of Metro Detroit about 6 miles (9.7 km) south of the southern border of Detroit along the Detroit River. Riverview was incorporated as a village within Monguagon Township in 1923 and later incorporated as a city in 1959.

Southgate Tower is a high-rise office building at 16333 Trenton Road in Southgate, Michigan. Since its completion, it has been the tallest building in the Downriver area of Wayne County, Michigan, as well as the tallest building between Detroit and Toledo, Ohio. A large portion of office space in the building was occupied by PNC Financial Services. Until October 18, 2013, a PNC Bank branch also operated in the building. It was initially constructed in 1972 and completed in 1973 by Lincoln Park-based Security Bank to house their headquarters. Since its completion, Southgate Tower's bank tenant has changed, first in 1993 to First of America Bank, then in 1997 to National City Bank and finally to PNC in early 2010. in Late 2021, reports of its conversion into Apartments if a zoning change was approved came to light, and eventually construction began in Mid-2023, with planned completion being mid-2025. The office building is easily accessible from M-85 (Fort Street), as a driveway connects that road to the building's parking lot. Southgate Tower is easily visible from many locations in Southgate and adjacent communities.

The Albania-American Bektashi Teqe in Michigan (Albanian: Teqeja e Pare Bektashiane ne Amerike) is a Bektashi Sufi tekke located in Taylor, Michigan, United States. It was founded by Baba Rexheb, a Bektashi community leader who had immigrated to the United States from Albania. As the first Bektashi building founded in the United States, the tekke was consecrated on May 15, 1954.

John F. Kennedy High School was a high school located in Taylor, Michigan, in the United States, in Metro Detroit. The school, which had two stories, served portions of Taylor and Brownstown Township. It had a capacity smaller than that of Truman High School.

Aquinas High School was a grades 9-12 parochial high school located in the Detroit suburb of Southgate.
