Woodhaven, Michigan

Brownstown Charter Township is a charter township in Wayne County in the U.S. state of Michigan. Its population was 30,627 at the 2010 census. Brownstown was established in 1827, a decade prior to Michigan's admission to the Union. Brownstown has three separate but connected segments due to the incorporation of the cities of Flat Rock, Rockwood, and Woodhaven in the early 1960s.

Flat Rock Assembly Plant, formerly known as the Michigan Casting Center (1972–1981), Mazda Motor Manufacturing USA (1987–1992) and AutoAlliance International (1992–2012), is a Ford Motor Company assembly plant located at 1 International Drive in Flat Rock, Michigan in Metro Detroit. The plant currently comprises 2,900,000 square feet (270,000 m2) of production space and employs 3,510 hourly workers and 140 salaried workers. The plant currently manufactures the Ford Mustang.

Detroit Dragway was a quarter mile long drag strip located in Brownstown Charter Township, Michigan on the corner of Sibley and Dix. It opened in 1959 by Gil Kohn and the track became sanctioned by the National Hot Rod Association in 1959. The "Dirty D" as it was also known was the host of the 1959 and 1960 NHRA U.S. Nationals.

Woodhaven High School is a public high school in the township of Brownstown, and located within the Woodhaven-Brownstown School District. Located at 24787 Van Horn Road, Brownstown, MI, just west of Interstate 75. The current population of the school is 1,400 and the school includes grades 10th-12th. Woodhaven's mascot is the Warrior and the school colors are purple and white. Woodhaven High School competes in the Downriver League: an athletic association consisting of Woodhaven and 8 other Downriver area high schools.

Trenton High School is a public high school in Trenton, Michigan, one of four schools in the Trenton Public School District. The school serves the city of Trenton and is a magnet school for special education students, specifically for those with hearing disabilities, from across Downriver. Enrollment for the 2012-13 school year was about 1200.

Trenton Engine Complex is Stellantis North America automotive factory complex in Trenton, Michigan. It is composed of two plants, North and South. The north factory opened in 1952 while the south plant opened in 2010. Both factories manufacture 3.2 and 3.6 engines.

Humbug Marsh, a 1.88 square kilometres (0.73 sq mi) wetland in southeastern Wayne County, Michigan, is a constituent element of the Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge. It is listed as a Ramsar wetland of international importance.Although Humbug Marsh is located within heavily populated Metro Detroit, it is acclaimed as a high-quality remnant of the wetlands that once lined both sides of the international Detroit River. This slow-flowing river was a hotspot of biological diversity, particularly as a location for fish spawning. The remnant marsh is classified as a place of "importance to threatened, endangered, and vulnerable species and ecological communities."Humbug Marsh is located on the Downriver shoreline of the Detroit River, straddling the boundary line between Gibraltar and Trenton in southeastern Wayne County, Michigan. A small offshore island (Humbug Island) is included within the official boundaries of the marsh.The Humbug Marsh parking lot is located at 5437 West Jefferson Avenue, Trenton, Michigan.

The Battle of Brownstown was an early skirmish in the War of 1812. Although the United States military outnumbered the forces of Tecumseh's Confederacy 8 to 1, they lost the battle and suffered substantial losses while Tecumseh's forces were almost untouched. The battle occurred near Brownstown, a Wyandot village south of Fort Detroit on Brownstown creek. Brownstown was also known as "Sindathon's Village". Carlson High School in Gibraltar, Michigan, is near the site of the battle.

The Gibraltar Road–Waterway Canal Bridge is a bridge located on Gibraltar Road over the Waterway Canal in Gibraltar, Michigan. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2000.
