Hester Store is a historic general store located at Dacusville, Pickens County, South Carolina. It was built in 1893, and is a two-story, front-gable, weatherboard-clad building with an ashlar granite front facade. It features a full-width, single story, porch with granite pillars. The granite facade and porch were added in 1933.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2013.

Williams–Ligon House, also known as Cedar Rock Plantation and Magnolia Estates, is a historic home and farm complex located Easley, Pickens County, South Carolina. The house was built in 1895, and is a two-story, frame I-house with a one-story rear addition. It features Folk Victorian decorative elements including spindle work and turned porch posts and balusters and brackets. Also on the property are a contributing barn that was the original Williams house (c. 1875), a smokehouse, and several mid-20th century barns and farm buildings.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2012.

Griffin-Christopher House is a historic home located Pickens, Pickens County, South Carolina. It was built in 1887, and is a two-story, frame "L"-plan, I-house with a two-story rear addition. It features a two-tiered full-height front and side porches with Folk Victorian decorative elements including jig-saw cut wood trim.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2001.

Saluda Lake is a 331-acre (1.34 km2) reservoir formed by a spillway from the uppermost dam on the Saluda River in South Carolina, United States. The lake was constructed in 1905 for the purpose of creating hydroelectric power. Duke Power Company formerly owned the lake and then sold it to North Brook Energy, LLC.

WCSZ (1070 kHz "La Jefa 94.9FM & 1070AM") is a commercial AM radio station licensed to Sans Souci, South Carolina and serving the Greenville-Spartanburg media market in Upstate South Carolina. WCSZ is owned by Tama Broadcasting and airs a Spanish Top 40 radio format. The station is simulcast on FM translator W235BM at 94.9 MHz located on Paris Mountain in Travelers Rest and licensed to Mauldin, South Carolina. The station identifies itself as "La Jefa" which means "The Boss" in Spanish. By day, WCSZ is licensed to broadcast at the maximum power allowed by the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), 50,000 watts non-directional. But because AM 1070 is a clear-channel frequency reserved for Class A KNX Los Angeles and a now-dark station in Canada, WCSZ must reduce power at night to 1500 watts using a directional antenna to avoid interference. The station's transmitter, a three-tower antenna array, is off West Duncan Road (U.S. Route 25) in Greenville. WCSZ is one of five AM radio stations in South Carolina operating at 50,000 watts by day, the others being WESC in Greenville, WAGL in Lancaster, WBAJ in Blythewood and WCEO in Columbia.

Glassy Mountain is a mountain close to Pickens, South Carolina, USA, in northwestern South Carolina, with a summit elevation of 1,703 feet (519 m) above mean sea level. While it is an isolated monadnock, it is still close to the Blue Ridge, providing views of nearby summits such as Table Rock and Caesar's Head as well as Greenville. The mountain gets its name from a large, bare, granite face on its north side. At the top of this rock face are small springs that trickle down the mountain, giving it a "glassy" appearance in the sun. It is easily accessible, as a small service road for transmitter towers leads to the summit. Local high schoolers often paint the rock face with graduation years. These year numbers can be so large as to be seen on aerial imaging of the mountain This mountain is often confused with another Glassy Mountain located in Greenville County, South Carolina, which is nearby. Glassy Mountain in Greenville County has a higher elevation of 2,782 feet and is not a monadnock as it is connected to other mountains. It is also home to the Cliffs at Glassy Mountain golf course community. In 1990, owners Pat McCoy and Thomas Atkinson sold Glassy Mountain to the South Carolina Heritage Trust Program, which designated it Glass Mountain Heritage Preserve.

The Carolina Film Institute (CFI) is a film school, founded in Greenville, South Carolina in 2008. It is affiliated with Seattle Film Institute founded in Seattle in 1994. CFI offers both part-time classes and certificate programs in film and digital video production, and film history.

Slater-Marietta is a census-designated place (CDP) in Greenville County, South Carolina, United States, along the North Saluda River. At the 2000 census, there were 2,228 people. At the 2010 census, there were 2,176. At the 2020 census, there were 1,873. It is part of the Greenville–Mauldin–Easley Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Clear View High School was a segregated all-black high school for Black Students in Pickens County, South Carolina. It was closed in 1969 and the students redirected to Easley High School when Federal courts mandated that public schools must be integrated. Many Black residents strongly objected to the Closure of Clear View, and U.S. Representative William Jennings Bryan Dorn took up the cause with the HEW. The location later became known as the J.T. Simpson Alternative school and is now the site of the Pickens County Head Start program and the Dream Center.

Berea is a census-designated place (CDP) in Greenville County, South Carolina, United States. The population was 14,295 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Greenville–Mauldin–Easley Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Easley High School Auditorium is a historic building built in 1909 in Easley, South Carolina and now on the National Register of Historic Places. It is historically significant for its long association with education and civic life in Easley in the first half of the 20th century. The building served as Easley's first and only high school from 1909 to 1940 and was central to the early experience and training of almost every local resident of that period.

Travelers Rest High School is a public high school in Travelers Rest, South Carolina. The school is an International Baccalaureate school.The old Travelers Rest high school building was used in the 2008 film Leatherheads, starring George Clooney.
