Stradisphere Festival is an annual music festival held in Stradbroke, Suffolk, England, in July. It celebrated its 5th year in 2018 with headliners Badly Drawn Boy and Sam and the Womp.The festival was founded by Brett and Jo Baber in 2014. Until 2018 the festival mostly had smaller and tribute bands performing, but has expanded and aspires to be 'a premier family music festival'.To advertise the 2018 festival, organisers promoted the festival across Suffolk using a person dressed as a spaceman who visited local businesses and posed for photos in well-known locations.

Stradbroke High School is a secondary school with academy status for 11- to 16-year-olds in the village of Stradbroke in the English county of Suffolk. Founded in 1953 as a secondary modern school on the edge of the village, Stradbroke High School serves a catchment covering almost 400 square miles (1,000 km2) including the parishes of Athelington & Horham, Fressingfield, Laxfield, Mendham, Wilby, Worlingworth, and Cratfield. As of 2006, this represents a catchment population of some 7,500 people. It has around 300 pupils. The school is small and therefore able to know and support each pupil individually. In 2018 the school's GCSE students attained the second highest results in Suffolk and Norfolk.

Stradbroke ( STRAD-brook) is an English village in the Mid Suffolk district of the county of Suffolk. The Census of 2011 gave the parish a population of 1,408, with an estimate of 1,513 in 2018.

Hoxne Rural District was a rural district within the administrative county of East Suffolk between 1894 and 1934. It was created out of the earlier Hoxne rural sanitary district. It was named after the historic hundred of Hoxne, whose boundaries it closely matched. The hundred, in turn, took its name from the village of Hoxne. In 1934, under a County Review Order, Hoxne Rural District was abolished and its parishes transferred to Hartismere Rural District, and in 1974 to Mid Suffolk district. 3 parishes went into the new Blyth Rural District.

Wilby is a village and civil parish in the Mid Suffolk district of Suffolk in eastern England located around 9 miles (14 km) south-east of Diss and 1.25 miles (2 km) south of Stradbroke along the B1118. The population of the parish at the 2001 census was 231 in 99 households. The village has some basic services including a primary school and village hall.The nearest villages are Brundish, Laxfield, Stradbroke and Worlingworth. Foals Green, Russel's Green, Stanway Green and Wootten Green (part) form part of the village which is dispersed in nature.

Horham (pronounced 'Hohrum') is a village in the county of Suffolk, in the East Anglia region of eastern England, United Kingdom. The village contains a church, St. Mary of Horham. Horham is on the B1117 road, approximately halfway between Eye and Stradbroke.

Hoxne was a hundred of Suffolk, with an area of 55,648 acres (225.20 km2).Hoxne Hundred was a fertile district averaging about nine miles (14 km) in length and breadth. It was bounded on the north by the River Waveney which separates it from Norfolk, on the east by Wangford and Blything Hundreds, on the south by Plomesgate, Loes and Thredling Hundreds and on the west by Hartismere Hundred. The parishes of Carlton and Kelsale form a detached region to the south east of the hundred. The area is watered by several streams flowing northward to the Waveney. On its southern side are the sources of the River Alde and near Laxfield the principal source of the River Blythe. The soil is primarily loam. The only town of any size is Stradbroke. It falls into the Deanery of Hoxne, the Archdeaconry of Suffolk, and the Diocese of Norwich. Listed as Hoxana in the Domesday Book, the hundred owes its name to the village of Hoxne, site of St Edmund's martyrdom, which in turn means "settlement of the Hoxan", believed to be a small Saxon tribe. Other information indicates that at the time of the Domesday Book, in 1086, Hoxne Hundred was known as Bishop's Hundred.

Horham railway station was a station located in Horham, Suffolk. It was on the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway between Worlingworth and Stradbroke. It opened on 29 September 1908, and closed on 28 July 1952, 44 years after it had opened for passenger traffic.

Hartismere Rural District was a rural district in the county of East Suffolk, England. It was expanded in 1934 by merging with the disbanded Hoxne Rural District with a slight readjustment of boundaries. It was named after the ancient Hundred of Hartismere and administered from Eye. Since 1 April 1974 it has formed part of the District of Mid Suffolk. At the time of its dissolution it consisted of 52 civil parishes.

Wilby railway station was located approximately two-thirds of a mile (1.1 km) north-east of Wilby, Suffolk. It was on the Mid-Suffolk Light Railway between Stradbroke and the terminus at Laxfield. It opened on 29 September 1908, and closed on 28 July 1952, 44 years after it had opened for passenger traffic.

Wingfield is a village in the English county of Suffolk. It is found 7 miles (11 km) east of Diss, signposted off B1118, near Eye. Wingfield Castle, which is now a private house, was for many centuries the home of the Wingfield family and their heirs, the De La Poles, Earls and Dukes of Suffolk. The Wingfields were a very ancient family and Sir John de Wingfield was chief of staff to the Black Prince. Sir John de Wingfield founded the great 14th-century church at Wingfield and his tomb can be found within it. Here visitors can see fine church monuments of Sir John de Wingfield and the De la Pole family. The church contains the effigy of Michael de la Pole Earl of Suffolk, and his wife Katherine. This Earl died of dysentery at the Siege of Harfleur whilst with Henry V on his Agincourt campaign of 1415.: 122  The Earl's son, also Michael, who was with his father, succeeded to the title but was killed a few weeks later whilst fighting under the King at the actual battle of Agincourt.: 254  The title then passed to the second son, William, who was aged fifteen at the time. William de la Pole, later first Duke of Suffolk, who was murdered after being exiled in 1450, was buried by his widow, Alice Chaucer, in the family church of the Charterhouse, Kingston upon Hull, as was his wish, and not in Wingfield church as is often stated. St Andrew's church contains fifteen 15th-century misericords. It is worth noting that they have more than a family resemblance to those at Sutton Courtenay now in Oxfordshire, but pre-1974 in Berkshire, and those at Soham in Cambridgeshire. The church's Tudor organ has been reconstructed and tours the country. It features in the film The Elusive English Organ.

Athelington is a small village and civil parish in the Mid Suffolk district of Suffolk, England, about 12 miles (19 km) south-east from Diss. The name is derived from the Old English word Ætheling. The population of the village was less than 50 at the 2011 Census and is included in the civil parish of Redlingfield, in 2005 the population was estimated as 30. The villages name means 'Farm/settlement of the prince(s)'.The village is first recorded as Elyngtone in 942 in the will of Bishop Theodred granting lands to a community dedicated to St Æthelberht in Hoxne. It was not recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086. There are six listed buildings in the parish with the church of St Peter being II* listed and the remaining five being grade II listed including the 17th Century Athelington Hall.
