Onecote

Peak Wildlife Park is a zoo in central England. The nearest towns are Leek, Ashbourne and Stoke-on-Trent. The zoo was originally known as Blackbrook Zoological Park, but entered administration in 2014 and closed. It was purchased by Jake Veasey and Colin MacDougall and reopened under its current name in 2015.

Morridge is a geographical feature, a few mile east of Leek, in Staffordshire, England. It is in the local government district of Staffordshire Moorlands. It is a long ridge of high moorland. The northern end, Morridge Top, is about a mile south of Flash. A few miles south at Merryton Low, near Upper Hulme, there is a trig point at height 489 metres (1,604 ft). The southern end of Morridge is at Onecote and Bradnop. Morridge was pasture land in medieval times, and dairy and sheep farming still predominates. During the 16th and 17th centuries, Sir Edward Aston, his son Walter, 1st Lord Aston and his son Walter, 2nd Lord Aston attempted large-scale enclosure of Morridge. Local freeholders resisted this, and much of Morridge remained open. Full-scale enclosure first took place in 1769.

Ipstones railway station was a railway station that served the village of Ipstones, Staffordshire. It was opened by the North Staffordshire Railway (NSR) in 1905 and closed to passenger use in 1935, but remained open to freight traffic until 1964.The station site today is used as a run-around loop for trains on the heritage Churnet Valley Railway with plans to reopen a station on the site.

Winkhill railway station was a railway station that served the hamlet of Winkhill, Staffordshire. It was opened by the North Staffordshire Railway (NSR) in 1910 and closed to passenger use in 1935, but remained open to freight traffic until 1964.

Bradnop is a village in Staffordshire, England, located just a few miles to the southeast of the market town of Leek. The name Bradnop was first recorded in 1197, and gets its name from the Old English words "bradan", meaning broad, and "hop", meaning enclosed valley. Historically Bradnop was a township of the parish of Leek, and later became a civil parish in its own right, with an area 3,568 acres (1,444 hectares).

Elkstones is a small hamlet in the parish of Warslow and Elkstones, consisting of Upper Elkstone and Lower Elkstone. Situated high in the Staffordshire Moorlands, Leek is the closest town. Elkstones falls in the catchment area of Manifold Primary School, Churnet View Middle School and Leek High School.

Butterton is a small village in the Staffordshire Peak District of England (grid reference SK075565). It overlooks the Manifold Valley and Ecton Hill, which rises 1,212 feet above sea level. Butterton lies 5 miles east of Leek and roughly 8 miles from Alton Towers theme park. The village is just west of the limestone area, and so is mainly built of local sandstone. It contains a Grade II listed church. In the centre of Butterton there is an unusual ford where the Hoo Brook runs along the village street.Butterton was served by a railway station which was opened by the Leek and Manifold Valley Light Railway on 27 June 1904. The line closed in 1934, and the route of the railway past the station is now designated the Manifold Way, a footpath and cycle route. Butterton is one of the Thankful Villages that suffered no fatalities in the Great War of 1914–1918.

Ipstones is a village and civil parish in the north of the English county of Staffordshire. Ipstones is part of the Staffordshire Moorlands district; within the boundaries of the civil parish are the hamlets Foxt, Consall Forge and Bottomhouse. Ipstones Edge, to the north of the village, rises to 1,250 feet (380 m) and gives views for many miles around. Ipstones is not mentioned in the Domesday book and dates from around the 12th century. The majority of the houses and farms, barring modern development, are built from local sandstone. Two sections of the village are designated as Conservation Areas with several listed structures contained within them. Ipstones was served by a railway station opened by the North Staffordshire Railway on 15 June 1905, on its line between Leekbrook Junction and Waterhouses. The station was closed to passengers on 30 September 1935. The buildings have been demolished but heritage trains of the Churnet Valley Railway now use the line again and there have been proposals to restore mineral trains to Caldon Low. Ipstones has three pubs, a butcher's, a corner shop, an agricultural supplies store, a church and a primary school.

Warslow and Elkstones is a civil parish in the district of Staffordshire Moorlands in north-east Staffordshire, England. It includes the village of Warslow and the hamlets of Lower Elkstone and Uppoer Elkstone. There is a boundary with Wetton in the east at the River Manifold. To the south is Butterton; the River Hamps forms the western boundary with Onecote.

St Bartholomew's Church, Butterton is a Grade II listed parish church in the Church of England in Butterton.

Staffordshire Moorlands is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the UK Parliament since 2010 by Karen Bradley, a Conservative who served as Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport between 2016 and 2018, before she became Secretary of State for Northern Ireland from 2018 to 2019. As with all constituencies, the constituency elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election at least every five years. This seat has seen a swing to the Conservatives at the past four elections. Karen Bradley was re-elected in the 2019 general election, with an increased majority of 16,428 votes.
