The Brown's Farm area is a neighborhood located within the Philippi area of Cape Town's Cape Flats region, in the Western Cape province of South Africa. The urban area is densely populated and contains many informal homes. The 2011 national census recorded 71,518 residents living in the area.

Wetton is a small suburb in Cape Town, South Africa, with a surface size of only 0,74 km². It is situated on the edge of the Southern Suburbs alongside the suburb of Lansdowne and Kenwyn.

The Philippi Horticultural area is a large semi-urban semi-rural area of Philippi in Cape Town's Cape Flats region, in the Western Cape province of South Africa. The horticultural area is sparsely populated compared to the surrounding city and contains many farms. The 2011 national census recorded 6,618 residents living in the area with an additional 2,961 residents living in the Knole Park community in the central western part of the area.

Crystal Secondary School is a school in the Western Cape. Crystal Secondary School was founded in 1972 and named after the daughter of its first principal, the late C. R. Fortuin. Its motto is Facta Non Verba (Deeds Not Words). According to the school's website, "[d]uring the 70’s the learners of this school were in the forefront of the struggle."

Manenberg is a township of Cape Town, South Africa, that was created by the apartheid government for low-income Coloured families in the Cape Flats in 1966 as a result of the forced removal campaign by the National Party. It has an estimated population of 52,000 residents. The area consists of rows of semi-detached houses and project-like flats, known as "korre". The township is located about 20 km away from the city centre of Cape Town. It is separated from neighbouring Nyanga and Gugulethu townships by a railway line to the east and from Hanover Park by the Sand Industria industrial park to the west and Heideveld to the north. The northern part of Manenberg has wealthy people that are mostly Muslims. The rest of Manenberg has poor people that are mostly associated with Christianity.

Hanover Park is a neighborhood of the City of Cape Town in the Western Cape province of South Africa In February 1980 the neighborhood was the starting point of a national prolonged school boycott in protest of apartheid laws and policies. Although Hanover Park is its own neighborhood separate from Philippi to its south it is situated within the Philippi police precinct area.casecade court Hanover Park currently has a very high crime rate.

Gugulethu is a township in the Western Cape, South Africa and is 15 km from Cape Town. Its name is a contraction of igugu lethu, which is Xhosa for our pride. The township was established along with Nyanga in the 1960s.

The Gugulethu massacre was a mass shooting which occurred on the afternoon of 2 November 2020. It took place in a house in NY78, Gugulethu, Cape Town, South Africa and resulted in the death of eight people between the ages of 30 and 50 years old. One additional victim was injured in the shooting. Seven of the nine victims died on scene (3 women and 4 men) whilst an eighth victim died later in hospital.Local residents reported to the media that the shooting was related to a gang conflict between the Guptas and the Boko Haram street gangs. Other reports by local residents indicated that the killing was conducted by the Boko Haram gang targeting a local woman, killed on scene, who refused to pay extortion money to the gang. Whilst the Gugulethu Development Forum stated that the killings were "drug-related."

Darul Islam Islamic High School is a semi-private school based in Greenhaven, Athlone, Cape Town. The school was established in 1995, by the current Muslim Judicial Council president Sheikh Irafaan Abrahams.

Mount View Secondary School is a school in the Western Cape. It was opened in 1976. The school was built in response to the need for a further Secondary school in Verulam. The present enrollment is 1 200 with 43 educators.

Mzoli's was a butchery in Gugulethu, a township on the outskirts of Cape Town, South Africa. Since Mzoli's opened in early 2003, the restaurant had become a popular gathering spot for Cape Town residents and a tourist attraction. Amongst Gugulethu's residents, Mzoli's Place has a reputation for public drunkenness and disrespect for the local community. Mzoli's is named after the founder and owner, Mzoli Ngcawuzele. The restaurant closed indefinitely in May 2021 partly due to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic.
