St Michael's Mount

The St Michael's Mount Tramway runs from near the harbour up to the castle which dominates the tidal island of St Michael's Mount, in Cornwall, England. The tramway is sometimes referred to as the Dreckly Express.

Marazion lies within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Almost a third of Cornwall has AONB designation, with the same status and protection as a National Park. On the western side of the town is Marazion Marsh, a RSPB reserve and a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI).

Marazion Marsh is a Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) reserve situated in a shallow river valley, half a kilometre to the west of Marazion, Cornwall, UK. It is separated from the coast by a shingle bar and small sand dune system and contains Cornwall's largest reed bed.

The Red River (Cornish: Dowr Amal, meaning boundary river) which discharges into the sea to the west of Marazion is one of two watercourses in Cornwall in southwest England, UK, which share this name. It rises in the parish of Towednack and flows in a generally southeasterly direction, passing through the parish of Ludgvan before turning to the southwest and discharging into Mount's Bay. It is bridged by numerous minor roads and paths but also by the B3311 road, the A30 road, the rail line between Hayle and Penzance and the A394 road.

Mount Haven Hotel is a hotel near the coast on the eastern side of the town of Marazion, Cornwall, England, UK, several miles east of Penzance. It is next to Chymorvah House and has panoramic views of St Michael's Mount and bay. The hotel's restaurant has been awarded an AA Rosette and in the summer tables are put out on the terrace which overlooks St Michael's Mount.

Long Rock (Cornish: Carrek Hyr) is a village in west Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. It is approximately 1 mile (1.6 km) east of Penzance and 1 mile (1.6 km) west of Marazion in the civil parish of Ludgvan. The village is named after the tidal Long Rock just offshore at grid reference SW498308. Long Rock is on the shore of Mount's Bay at the centre of the three-mile beach which stretches from Penzance to Marazion. The beach is backed by a seawall along which runs the main line railway and the South West Coast Path. A dual carriageway bypass carries the A30 road north of the village and the land beside the road has been extensively developed with light industry and a retail park. Penzance Heliport is situated between Long Rock and Penzance. The original heliport was demolished in 2014 and a Sainsburys supermarket, car park and trading estate was built on the site. In 2019 new heliport was built on a site opposite the heliport trading estate a hundred yards away from the original heliport and in the spring of 2020 commenced a scheduled service to the Scilly Isles.

Crowlas is a village in Cornwall, England, on the A30 about three miles east of Penzance. It forms a small conurbation with Ludgvan within the parish of the same name. Perranuthnoe () is a civil parish and a village in southwest Cornwall, England, United Kingdom. The parish population at the 2011 census was 2,184. The Parish includes the settlements of Goldsithney, Perran Downs,Perranuthnoe and part of Rosudgeon.The village of Perranuthnoe itself is situated on the east side of Mount's Bay approximately one mile (1.6 km) east of Marazion and four miles (6.5 km) east of Penzance.Perranuthnoe village and smaller settlements to the south of the A394 lie within the Cornwall Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB). Almost a third of Cornwall has AONB designation, with the same status and protection as a National Park.North of A394 the Parish is part of the Cornwall and West Devon Mining Landscape World Heritage Site. For local government Perranuthnoe elects a parish council of 10 members every four years across two wards ( Goldsithney ward 7 members,Perranuthnoe ward 3 members). The principal local authority is Cornwall Council.

Ludgvan ( LUJ-ən; Cornish: Lujuan) is a civil parish and village in Cornwall, England, UK, 2+1⁄2 miles (4.0 km) northeast of Penzance. Ludgvan village is split between Churchtown, on the hill, and Lower Quarter to the east, adjoining Crowlas. For the purposes of local government, Ludgvan elects a parish council every four years; the town elects a member to Cornwall Council under the Ludgvan division.
