Whinhill railway station is a railway station located in the east of the town of Greenock, Inverclyde, Scotland. The station is managed by ScotRail and is on the Inverclyde Line, 2+1⁄4 miles (3.6 km) from Port Glasgow and 22+1⁄2 miles (36.2 km) from Glasgow Central. Opened in 1990, it is one of the newer stations on the line constructed by British Rail. Its opening made the line available to users in the south-east of Greenock for the first time in almost thirty years, since the closure of Upper Greenock station.

The station is situated between Bawhirley Road and McDougall Street and it serves passengers going to and from Gourock and Glasgow. It is the nearest station to Cappielow, home of Greenock Morton F.C. Aside from the daily commuter traffic, some Saturday afternoons consequently are the busiest period of time for this station, which is only staffed for a few hours each day.

Greenock Central station is one of eight railway stations serving the town of Greenock in western Scotland, and is the nearest to the town centre. This station, which is staffed, is on the Inverclyde Line, 37 km (23 mi) west of Glasgow Central towards Gourock. It has three platforms, two of which are in use, with one disused bay platform. This disused platform is still connected to the main line. It was originally the terminus before the railway was extended to Gourock and at that time was known as Greenock Cathcart station, as the access road to the station leads off the town's Cathcart Street.

RAF Greenock was a Royal Air Force station in Greenock, Scotland from 1940 to 1945.RAF Greenock was created on 10 October 1940 as a maintenance base for RAF flying boats. Seaplanes had previously been used at the site in the 1930s. The base was hit on 7 May 1941 during the Greenock Blitz, when a hangar and storage facility were hit, and several aircraft were destroyed.The following units were here at some point: No. 2 Flying Boat Servicing Unit (September 1942 - 1945) No. 97 Maintenance Unit RAF (August - October 1945) No. 213 Maintenance Unit RAF (October 1945 - November 1947)Supermarine Stranraers, Consolidated Catalinas and Short Sunderlands were maintained at the site.It ceased to be an RAF base in 1945 but continued in civilian use until 1950.As of 2012, the RAF Club Greenock is still open.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Museum and Heritage Centre is a museum in Greenock, Inverclyde, Scotland. It is housed in a former fire station and is open to the public on one Sunday a month and on days when cruise ships are in port in Greenock. It is operated by the Scottish Fire Brigades Heritage Trust, a registered charity known from 2013 to 2022 as the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Heritage Trust.
