Crooswijk

Rubroek is a neighborhood of Rotterdam, Netherlands.

The Rotte is a river in the Rhine-Maas-delta in the Netherlands. The Rotte is the eponym of the city of Rotterdam: the city was founded in the 13th century when a dam was built along the river.

Crooswijk General Cemetery (Algemene Begraafplaats Crooswijk) is a cemetery in Rotterdam, the Netherlands.

The Berlage Institute was an independent unaccredited postgraduate school of architecture in Amsterdam and Rotterdam, the Netherlands, that operated in 1990-2012. Named after the Dutch architect Hendrik Petrus Berlage, the Berlage Institute had an international student population and teaching staff. In 2012 the institute moved to Delft University of Technology in the Netherlands, and was reestablished as The Berlage Center for Advanced Studies in Architecture and Urban Design.

St Hildegard's Church (Dutch: Sint-Hildegardiskerk) is a Roman Catholic church in the Oude Noorden (in Hillegersberg, before the boundary changes of 1904) in Rotterdam, Netherlands. The neo-Gothic cruciform church was built between 1890 and 1892 according to a design by the Rotterdam architect Evert Margry, one of the most important students of Pierre Cuyper. However, the church was completed by his brother Albert Margry and his colleague JM Snickers following his death in 1891. The church is dedicated to Saint Hildegard of Bingen. The original church consisted of the choir, a bay of the nave, and both transepts. Between 1904 and 1905, the church was enlarged by Margry and Snickers with a tower and four additional bays. The tower is quite similar to the tower of the Bonifatius Church in Zaandam from 1900.The parish of Saints Hildegardis and Antonius used the church independently until 2008, before merging with two other Rotterdam parishes into the new parish of Saints Franciscus and Clara. The new parish now only uses the Hildegardis Church: the Church of the Holy Redeemer and Saint Barbara and the Church of the Holy Family were disposed of in 2008.Together with the Sint-Lambertus Church in Kralingen, it is the last neo-Gothic church in Rotterdam still in use today. It is also a rijksmonument.

The Battle of Rotterdam was a Second World War battle fought during the Battle of the Netherlands. Fought between 10 and 14 May 1940, it was a German attempt to seize the Dutch city. It ended in a German victory, following the Rotterdam Blitz.

The Boezembrug is a bridge in Rotterdam, part of the Gouda Roadway. The Bosom bridge connects both banks of the Boezem. The bridge is a Rijksmonument designed by S. J. Rutgers in 1903.

Amarone is a restaurant in Rotterdam, Netherlands. It is a fine dining restaurant that is awarded one Michelin star in the period 2008–present. The owner and Head chef of Amarone is Jan van Dobben. Chef van Dobben worked together with Gert Blom for 6 years. Mr. van Dobben became the co-owner of the restaurant in 2017. 1 year later, in July 2018, he completely took over the restaurant from Mr Blom. Chef van Dobben remained, together with his wife, Yoshiko Takayama-van Dobben, Restaurant-manager Jasper Verhagen and Sous-chef Yuri Wattimena, his Michelin-star in December 2018. GaultMillau awarded the restaurant in 2019 with 15 out of 20 points. In 2019, Restaurant Amarone situated on the 60th place in the "Lekker 500"

Rotterdam Hofplein railway station in the Netherlands is a former main-line and RandstadRail station. It was the terminus of the former Hofpleinlijn (Hofplein line) which ran trains between Rotterdam and Scheveningen, and were later curtailed to The Hague central station. It was located very close to the railway line between Rotterdam Centraal and Rotterdam Blaak, but never had a direct connection to it.

Grote of Sint-Laurenskerk (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɣroːtə ʔɔf sɪnt ˈlʌurənskɛr(ə)k]; English: Great, or St. Lawrence Church) is a Protestant church in Rotterdam. It is the only remnant of the medieval city of Rotterdam.
