Brent Knoll Camp

Brent Knoll is a 137-metre-high (449 ft) hill on the Somerset Levels, in Somerset, England. It is located roughly halfway between Weston-super-Mare and Bridgwater, 2.5 miles (4.0 km) from the Bristol Channel coast at Burnham-on-Sea. At the foot of the hill are two villages East Brent and Brent Knoll, which takes its name from the hill but was previously called South Brent. The hill's size and isolated position on the levels mean that it dominates the landscape and can be seen for many miles, and its prominence is emphasised to travellers because the Bristol to Taunton railway line, M5 motorway, A370 and A38 roads all pass within a mile or less from its base.

Brent Knoll, formerly known as South Brent, is a village and civil parish in Somerset, England, which lies on the southern edge of Brent Knoll – a hill with a height of 137 metres (450 ft) that dominates the low surrounding landscape of the Somerset Levels.

East Brent is a village and civil parish, on the eastern edge of a hill that dominates the surrounding level countryside—Brent Knoll—close to the M5 motorway, 5 miles (8 km) west of Axbridge, in the county of Somerset, in the south-west of England. The parish includes the hamlets of Rooksbridge, where the A38 road crosses the Mark Yeo and Edingworth.

Hill Brow Preparatory School for Boys was a small English preparatory school, initially based in Eastbourne, East Sussex, but subsequently relocated to Brent Knoll in Somerset as part of the evacuation of civilians that took place during World War II.

Burnham Without is a civil parish in the main located to the east of Burnham-on-Sea and to the north and northeast of Highbridge in Somerset, England. The parish includes the villages of Watchfield and Edithmead. The developed fringes of eastern Burnham itself are also in the parish. The parish in 2011 had a population of 796.Mostly rural Burnham Without consists of drained, low-lying agricultural land between the coast at Burnham itself and Brent Knoll Iron Age hill fort, East Huntspill, Walrow and Mark villages

The Oaktree Arena was a speedway racing track located near Highbridge, Somerset, England, and is built alongside the M5 motorway. The track, which was constructed by Australian rider Glyn Taylor, is 300 metres (330 yd) in length, with banking around the edge for spectators. There is also a restaurant which can be hired for weddings and events. It is also used for property auctions, and car boot sales. The site also hosts a golf driving range.

Sedgemoor services is a motorway service station on the M5 motorway near the village of Rooks Bridge in Somerset, England. The location of the services can be identified from a long distance because of their proximity to Brent Knoll, an isolated hill on the Somerset Levels. The northbound station is operated by Welcome Break, and the southbound station is operated by Roadchef. The northbound station is one of fourteen service stations for which large murals were commissioned from artist David Fisher in the 1990s, designed to reflect the local area and history.

Lympsham is a village and civil parish six miles west of Axbridge and six miles south-east of Weston-super-Mare, close to the River Axe in Somerset, England. The parish includes the hamlet of Wick where Wick Farmhouse dates from the mid 18th century.

Highbridge and Burnham railway station is situated on the Bristol to Taunton Line in the town of Highbridge, Somerset and also serves the neighbouring town of Burnham-on-Sea. It is 145 miles 25 chains (145.31 mi; 233.9 km) from the zero point at London Paddington via Box. It is unstaffed but managed by Great Western Railway who operate all the regular services. Until 1966 the station also had platforms on the Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway (S&DJR) line which crossed the main line on the level at the north end of the station.

Highbridge is a market town on the edge of the Somerset Levels near the mouth of the River Brue. It is in the County of Somerset, and is about 20 miles (32 km) northeast of Taunton, the county town of Somerset. No longer a market town, the market site is now a housing estate. Highbridge is in the District of Sedgemoor, being about 7 miles (11 km) north of Bridgwater, the district's administrative centre. Highbridge closely neighbours Burnham-on-Sea, forming part of the combined parish of Burnham-on-Sea and Highbridge and shares a town council with the resort town. The 2001 Census recorded Highbridge's population as 5,986. In the 2011 Census the population of the town was included in the ward of Highbridge and Burnham Marine, which totalled 7,555.

The King Alfred School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form located in Highbridge, Somerset, England. It is an academy and part of The Priory Learning Trust. It serves Brent Knoll, Highbridge, Burnham-on-Sea and the surrounding villages. In 2007, the school celebrated its 50th anniversary. In 2017 it had 1375 pupils.The school is associated with the King Alfred Sports Centre which is next to the school site. There is some evidence of Roman remains under the school playing field.

Bason Bridge railway station was a station on the Highbridge branch of the Somerset and Dorset Joint Railway, serving the village of East Huntspill. Opened by the Somerset Central Railway in 1856, the station consisted of a wooden platform and buildings. A level crossing, goods yard and dedicated siding for milk train to the Wiltshire United Co-operative Society's creamery, were operated from two lever frames, one at each end of the station. The station closed with the SDJR on 7 March 1966, although access to the dairy was maintained via a spur from Highbridge. In the months before closure, goods trains loaded with fly ash tipped at the construction site of the M5 motorway to enable it to progress across the Somerset Levels. Progress on construction of the motorway finally closed the spur line on 3 October 1972. The station site was later cleared, but the station house survived as a private house.The roof of the station house caught fire on the 10th of April 2020 and the property was subsequently demolished.
