Municipal Theatre of São Paulo is a theatre in São Paulo, Brazil. It is regarded as one of the landmarks of the city, significant both for its architectural value as well as for its historical importance, having been the venue for the Week of Modern Art in 1922, which revolutionised the arts in Brazil. The building now houses the São Paulo Municipal Symphonic Orchestra, the Coral Lírico (Lyric Choir) and the City Ballet of São Paulo.

The Ramos de Azevedo Square (Portuguese: Praça Ramos de Azevedo) is located in the República district, in the center of the Brazilian city of São Paulo, and is famous for being home to the Municipal Theater. It was created in 1911, after the theater's inauguration, under the name Esplanada do Theatro. It was renamed in 1928, after the death of the architect Ramos de Azevedo.The square, located in the space between Conselheiro Crispiniano Street and Formosa Street, under the Viaduto do Chá and next to the Alexandre Mackenzie Building, forms a well-known postcard of the city.

The Conservatório Dramático e Musical de São Paulo (Musical and Dramatic Conservatory of São Paulo) was a conservatory for students of music in São Paulo, Brazil. The Conservatory was founded on February 15, 1906, and inaugurated officially on March 12 of that year. In 1909 it moved to its last location on Avenida São João, downtown. Between 1981 and 1983 the building was renovated. One of many post-secondary music schools in São Paulo, the Conservatory i was known chiefly for its library of musical and dramatic scholarship, and its most famous alumnus, poet and musicologist Mário de Andrade, who studied piano and taught there for much of his life. In 2009, due to many financial problems, the conservatory was closed. Its building will be a part of a new construction, the "Praça das Artes" (Art Square), which will be occupied by the artistic bodies of the Municipal Theater, its Schools of Music and Ballet, its museum and its technical center.

Galeria do Rock is a shopping mall located in the city of São Paulo. It was established in 1963, with the name of Shopping Center Grandes Galerias. Located between Rua 24 de Maio, 62 and Largo do Paissandu (Avenida São João), it has 450 shopping facilities, with predominance of rock, hip hop and other music-related stores, which sell records, apparel and tattoo studios. Galeria do Rock is also a musical performance venue, being a meeting place for urban tribes or subcultures in São Paulo. The place was a location for the Rede Globo telenovela Tempos Modernos and for the TV series Aline.

Vale do Anhangabaú (Anhangabaú Valley) is a region in the city center of São Paulo, located between the viaducts do Chá and Santa Ifigênia. It is a public space commonly characterized as park, where events have traditionally been organized, such as public demonstrations, political rallies, presentations and popular shows. It is considered the point that separates the Old City Center from the New City Center.Currently, the 43 thousand square meters of the Anhangabaú Valley are used as a crossing point for people wishing to transit between the east and west regions of the Center, and can be defined as an extensive boardwalk under a road junction. The space also interconnects with other squares in the central area, such as Praça Ramos de Azevedo, juxtaposed with the Valley, Largo de São Bento, through the steps of the Metro and Praça da Bandeira, which currently houses a bus station.With gardens, works of art and three fountains, Vale do Anhangabaú is today a postcard of the City Center of São Paulo, from where it is possible to glimpse buildings such as the Martinelli, Altino Arantes, Teatro Municipal, and the Matarazzo Building, headquarters of city hall. The space also acts as a stage for Virada Cultural, a traditional event in São Paulo that promotes shows and cultural activities throughout the city. Due to its wide dimension, the Valley is considered an adequate space for large public meetings and was even the stage for the largest Brazilian public rally, in the Diretas Já demonstrations, organized on April 16, 1984, when it was received about 1.5 million people. In addition to being in a region that houses all the places mentioned above, the Vale do Anhangabaú is also located near the Dramatic and Musical Conservatory of São Paulo, which is called the School of Dance of São Paulo, also known as the School of Dance of the Municipal Theater of São Paulo (EDTMSP). Basically, it is a university campus that concentrates classes on public dance in the city.

The São Paulo School of Dance (Portuguese: Escola de Dança de São Paulo - EDASP), also known as the São Paulo Municipal Theater Dance School (Escola de Dança do Theatro Municipal de São Paulo - EDTMSP) or the Municipal Ballet School (Escola Municipal de Bailado), is located in the Brazilian city of São Paulo. It is linked to the training center of the São Paulo Municipal Theater Foundation. Currently run by Cristiana de Souza, the school is based in Praça das Artes and caters to around 800 students. It is one of the most traditional dance schools in Brazil and has trained generations of artists.

The Alexandre Mackenzie Building (Portuguese: Edifício Alexandre Mackenzie), also known as the Light Building (Prédio da Light), is a construction located in the central area of the city of São Paulo, between the intersection of Coronel Xavier de Toledo Street and the Viaduto do Chá, designed by the Americans Preston and Curtis and executed by Severo, Villares & Cia. Ltda. It was the headquarters of the São Paulo Tramway, Light and Power Company and later of the former state-owned Eletropaulo. It was completed in 1929 and extended in 1941. Since 1999, after careful restoration, it houses Shopping Light.

The São José Theater (Portuguese: Theatro São José) was an important venue located in Largo São Gonçalo, now Doutor João Mendes Square, in the Brazilian city of São Paulo. Inaugurated on September 4, 1864, its first premises accommodated 1,200 people. In 1898, a fire destroyed the building and a new theater was erected next to the Viaduto do Chá.Designed by architect Carlos Ekman, the new venue had a capacity for 3,000 people and was inaugurated on December 28, 1909. The São José Theater, affected by the establishment of the Municipal Theater of São Paulo in 1911, remained active until 1919. Later, it was acquired by Light São Paulo, which used its facilities until 1924, when it was demolished to house the Alexandre Mackenzie Building, inaugurated in 1929.

Viaduto do Chá ("Tea Viaduct") is a viaduct of São Paulo, Brazil. It was the first viaduct built in the city, and was instigated by Jules Martin, a French immigrant to the city. The 240-metre (790 ft) span crosses the Vale do Anhangabaú. Originally conceived in 1877, construction started in 1888 before being stopped one month later by a court case brought by local residents. Construction resumed in 1889, and the iron bridge was completed in 1892. The original viaduct was replaced in 1938 with a new concrete span. It often appears in TV interviews, as well as films and telenovelas set in São Paulo.

The Church of Our Lady of the Rosary of Black Men (Portuguese: Igreja Nossa Senhora do Rosário dos Homens Pretos) is located in Largo do Paiçandu, in the central zone of the Brazilian city of São Paulo. It was originally situated in Antônio Prado Square, where it was built by black workers at the beginning of the 18th century to serve as a meeting place for slaves who celebrated Catholic rites mixed with beliefs of Bantu origin. In 1903, as part of the urbanization process initiated by Mayor Antônio Prado, the old church was demolished and rebuilt where it stands today. The new temple was consecrated in 1906, when a large procession, accompanied by a band, carried the images from the old church.

Largo do Paiçandu (in archaic spelling, Largo do Payssandu and Largo do Paissandu) is an area of the República district, in the central area of the city of São Paulo, Brazil. It was named in 1865 after the Siege of Paysandu. Currently, it It is located within a quadrilateral formed by São João, Conselheiro Crispiniano, Rio Branco and Dom José de Barros streets. At the end of the 19th century, it was an important circus zone in the city.

The Post Office Palace (Portuguese: Palácios dos Correios) is an eclectic building located in the Historic Center of São Paulo, in the Anhangabaú Valley, in the Brazilian city of São Paulo. The complex was designed by Ramos de Azevedo Technical Office to house the Central Post and Telegraph Office and was inaugurated on October 20, 1922. It housed the Post Office's administrative activities until the 1970s, when the institution moved to Vila Leopoldina.In 2012, the building was listed as a historic site by the Department of Historical Heritage (DPH) during a process that covered the entire Anhangabaú Valley region. It is one of the most significant examples of early 20th century architecture in São Paulo. In 2013, the palace became home to the Post Office Cultural Center of São Paulo, which offers free exhibitions and other artistic events.
