Beauchamp Roding ( BEECH-əm) is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Abbess, Beauchamp and Berners Roding, and in the Epping Forest District of Essex, England. The village is included in the eight hamlets and villages called The Rodings. Beauchamp Roding is 8 miles (13 km) west from the county town of Chelmsford. In 1931 the parish had a population of 173.

Abbess, Beauchamp and Berners Roding is a group of three small villages in the County of Essex, England. Collectively, they form one civil parish in the Epping Forest district of Essex. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 427, increasing to 481 at the 2011 census. The parish includes Abbess Roding, Beauchamp Roding, and Berners Roding, three of The Rodings, the hamlet of Birds Green, and the small settlement of Nether Street. The parish was formed in 1946 when the three parishes merged.

St Andrew's Church is a redundant Anglican church in the village of Willingale, Essex, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building, and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. The church stands less than 50 yards (46 m) from the adjacent church of St Christopher, and shares its churchyard.

The population of the civil parish at the 2011 census was 501. Willingale has two churches in one churchyard: one dedicated to St Christopher; the other to St Andrew. The civil parish of Willingale was created on 1 April 1946 from the parishes of Shellow Bowells, Willingale Doe and Willingale Spain. Willingale Doe and Spain were recorded in the Domesday Book of 1086 as Ulinghehala/Willing(h)ehala.Richard Wiseman (1632 - 1712), landowner and member of parliament was born in the village. Clopton Havers (24 February 1657 – April 1702) was an English physician who did pioneering research on the microstructure of bone. He is believed to have been the first person to observe and almost certainly the first to describe what are now called Haversian canals and Sharpey's fibres. Havers married Dorcas Fuller, daughter of Thomas Fuller, the Rector of Willingale, Essex. Havers died in Willingale in 1702 and was buried at Willingale Doe, Essex. His funeral sermon, dedicated to his widow, was preached by Lilly Butler, minister of St Mary Aldermanbury in London, and was later printed in quarto.

Berners Roding (pronounced Barnish) is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Abbess, Beauchamp and Berners Roding and the Epping Forest District of Essex, England. The village is included in the eight hamlets and villages called The Rodings. Berners Roding is 6 miles (10 km) west from the county town of Chelmsford. In 1931 the parish had a population of 81.

Fyfield is a village and civil parish in the Epping Forest district of Essex, England. The village is situated on the B184 road, and approximately 3 miles (5 km) north-east of Chipping Ongar, 7 miles (11 km) east of Harlow and 8 miles (13 km) west of Chelmsford. The River Roding flows south through the village. Fyfield Mill is 180 yards (165 m) below Willingale Road at the south of the village. The watermill, which sits at the head of a mill pond on the River Roding, dates to the late 13th century and is a Grade II listed building.Fyfield Hall on Willingale Road is the oldest inhabited timber-framed building in England. The house dates chiefly to the mid–13th century, contains an aisled hall dated 1140, and is Grade I listed.

Margaret Roding is a village and civil parish in the Uttlesford district of Essex, England. The village is included in the eight hamlets and villages called The Rodings. Margaret Roding is 7 miles (11 km) north-west from the county town of Chelmsford.

Royal Air Force Chipping Ongar or more simply RAF Chipping Ongar is a former Royal Air Force station located 2 miles (3.2 km) northeast of Chipping Ongar; about 20 miles (32 km) northeast of London. Opened in 1943, it was used by both the Royal Air Force (RAF) and United States Army Air Forces (USAAF). During the war it was used primarily as a bomber airfield. After the war it was closed in 1959 after many years of being a reserve airfield. Today the remains of the airfield are located on private property being used as agricultural fields.

Shellow Bowells (or occasionally misspelt as Shellow Bowels) is a village and former civil parish in the Epping Forest District of Essex, England. It is situated 6 miles (10 km) to the west of Chelmsford, between the villages of Willingale on its westerly border and Roxwell on its east. In 1931 the civil parish had a population of 95.Since 1946 the village has been part of the civil parish of Willingale. The village name is believed to be derived from Shellow, meaning a bend in the river, and the Beaulieu family. The village church, dedicated to St Peter and St Paul, is no longer in use as such, having become a private dwelling. Shellow Bowells is mentioned by Bill Bryson in Notes From A Small Island and Paul Theroux's The Kingdom By The Sea. It is referred to as Shallow Bowells in Part Five of Random Harvest by James Hilton.

Clatterford End is a hamlet on the B184 road, just south of the village of Fyfield, in the Epping Forest District, in the English county of Essex. Its post town is ONGAR.
