The Lay-Pritchett House is a historic house on Stevenstown Road (Connecticut Route 145) in Westbrook, Connecticut. Built about 1737 and enlarged several times since, it is distinctive for retaining its core elements in their original configuration and without significant alteration. The house was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.

Comstock-Cheney Hall, also known as Ivoryton Playhouse, is a theater building located in the village of Ivoryton in the town of Essex, Connecticut, US. It is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The theatre is believed to be the first continuously operating summer theatre in the United States.

Ivoryton is one of three villages in Essex, Connecticut in Middlesex County. Ivoryton Historic District, the historic district in the village, was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on April 15, 2014.The Ivoryton Playhouse, which is separately listed on the Register, is located within the district.

Westbrook High School is a U.S. public high school located in Westbrook, Connecticut. The school serves grades 9 through 12, and usually enrolls between 150 and 250 students each year. Westbrook High School is a part of the Westbrook Public Schools. The school competes athletically and academically (e.g. High School Quiz Bowl) with many other shoreline high schools, and is well known for its music and theatre programs. It is located on McVeagh Road in Westbrook next to the St. Mark's Catholic Church.

The Stewart B. McKinney National Wildlife Refuge is a 950-acre (384.5 ha) National Wildlife Refuge in ten units across the U.S. state of Connecticut. Located in the Atlantic Flyway, the refuge spans 70 miles (110 km) of Connecticut coastline and provides important resting, feeding, and nesting habitat for many species of wading birds, shorebirds, songbirds and terns, including the endangered roseate tern. Adjacent waters serve as wintering habitat for brant, scoters, American black duck, and other waterfowl. Overall, the refuge encompasses over 900 acres (364.2 ha) of barrier beach, intertidal wetland and fragile island habitats.Originally named the Salt Meadow National Wildlife Refuge, the refuge was renamed in 1987 after Stewart B. McKinney, a congressman from Connecticut.

Chester Airport (ICAO: KSNC, FAA LID: SNC) is a public use airport located three miles (5 km) southwest of the central business district of Chester, a town in Middlesex County, Connecticut, United States. It is privately owned by Whelen Aviation. It is included in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) National Plan of Integrated Airport Systems for 2017–2021, in which it is categorized as a general aviation facility.Although most U.S. airports use the same three-letter location identifier for the FAA and IATA, Chester Airport is assigned SNC by the FAA but has no designation from the IATA (which assigned SNC to General Ulpiano Paez Airport in Salinas, Ecuador). The FAA identifier for Chester Airport was 3B9 and was changed to SNC in the early 2000s.

Westbrook station is a regional rail station on the Northeast Corridor, located off Connecticut Route 153 just north of the village center of Westbrook, Connecticut. It is served by the CTrail's Shore Line East commuter rail service; Amtrak's Acela Express and Northeast Regional services run through the station without stopping. The first Westbrook station opened in 1852, was replaced in 1906, and closed in 1936. A new station for Shore Line East opened in 1990; and was rebuilt in 2001. A new station with a larger lot and two accessible platforms opened on March 25, 2014. The larger lot now allows the station, which is less than half a mile from Interstate 95 and U.S. Route 1, to serve as a park-and-ride station.
