Ellwood is a hamlet in the Forest of Dean district in Gloucestershire, England. It lies around 3 kilometres (1.9 mi) south-east of Coleford. The hamlet has a football club Ellwood F.C. who play at Bromley Road.

Milkwall railway station is a disused station on the former Severn and Wye Railway. It served the village of Milkwall, Gloucestershire, England. The station opened in 1875 and was closed only in 1929 due to lack of passenger use. The line remained in use for goods traffic until the line was closed from Parkend to Coleford. Today the site of the station is now occupied by an engineering company and the trackbed is now a cycle track from Coleford to Parkend.

Perrygrove railway station is the home of the 15 in (381 mm) gauge Perrygrove Railway. The railway was opened in 1996 and is a heritage railway. There is a run round loop, sidings, platform, picnic area, station building, parking, and engine shed located at the station. Guided tours are available of the shed if staff are available.

Perrygrove Railway is a minimum-gauge railway of 15 in (381 mm) gauge. It is located at Perrygrove Farm in the Forest of Dean, near Coleford, Gloucestershire, England. Trains travel at frequent intervals on a round trip of 1+1⁄2 miles (2.4 km) between four stations. Passengers can ride on the train to use activities including a Treetop Adventure, a covered picnic and play area at Foxy Hollow, an Indoor Village with secret passages, and a den-building area in the woods. The railway was inspired by the minimum gauge estate railways or British narrow gauge railways developed by Sir Arthur Heywood at the end of the 19th century, including his pioneering Duffield Bank Railway and the later Eaton Hall Railway. Until mid 2014, based at Perrygrove were the Heywood Collection and associated replica vehicles built by James Waterfield, including the locomotive "Ursula" and the Duffield Bank Dining Carriage. These are now in private storage offsite.

Oakiron railway station is the terminus of the 15 in (381 mm) gauge Perrygrove Railway. The line was opened in 1996 and is now open as a heritage railway, passenger trains run round the train via the loop to couple on with the train back down to Perrygrove Station. The station consists of a small waiting shelter, a low platform, a loop and sidings. There are two footpaths from the station into the woods around the line. The line to Oakiron Quarry was near the site of today's sidings, the quarry line closed long before the railway.

Heywood railway station is a request stop on the 15 in (381 mm) gauge Perrygrove Railway. The line was opened in 1996 and is a heritage railway. There is a footpath into the woods around the line from the halt.

Spion Kop Quarry (grid reference SO598103) is a 0.7-hectare (1.7-acre) nature reserve in Gloucestershire in the Forest of Dean.The site is managed by the Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust and held under agreement with the Forestry Commission. The site is listed in the 'Forest of Dean Local Plan Review' as a Key Wildlife Site (KWS).
