Vianden (Luxembourgish: Veianen [ˈfɑɪɑnən] or (locally) Veinen [ˈfɑɪnən]) is a commune with town status in the Éislek, north-eastern Luxembourg, with a population of 2,203 as of 2023. It is part of the of the canton of the same name. Vianden lies on the Our river, near the border between Luxembourg and Germany. As of 2013, the town of Vianden, which lies in the east of the commune, has a population of 1,811. It is known for the Vianden Castle.

Vianden Castle (Luxembourgish: Veianer Schlass [ˈfɑɪɑnɐ ˈʃlɑs] or (locally) Veiner Schlooss [ˈfɑɪnɐ ˈʃloːs] ; French: Château de Vianden; German: Schloss Vianden), located in Vianden in the north of Luxembourg, is one of the largest fortified castles west of the Rhine. With origins dating from the fourth century as a Roman outpost and the 10th century, the more familiar castle form was built in the Romanesque style from the 11th to 14th centuries. Gothic transformations and trimmings were added at the end of this period. A Renaissance mansion was added in the 17th century but thereafter the castle was allowed to fall into ruins. It has, however, recently been fully restored and is open to visitors. Vianden Castle is widely regarded as the best castle to visit in Luxembourg.

The Battle of Vianden alternatively called Battle of Vianden Castle took place November 19, 1944 in the small town of Vianden, in northern Luxembourg. It was one of the most important battles of the Luxembourg Resistance during World War II.

Longsdorf (Luxembourgish: Longsdref) is a village in the commune of Tandel, Luxembourg. The hamlet of Marxbierg (or Marxberg) forms part of the village.

Tandel is a commune and village in eastern Luxembourg, in the canton of Vianden. It lies close to the border with Germany. As of 2001, the village of Tandel, which lies in the centre of the commune, has a population of 87. The commune of Tandel was formed on 1 January 2006 from the former communes of Bastendorf (in the canton of Diekirch) and Fouhren (in the canton of Vianden). The law creating Tandel was passed on 21 December 2004.

Roth an der Our is a municipality in the district of Bitburg-Prüm, in Rhineland-Palatinate, western Germany.

Bettel (Luxembourgish: Bëttel) is a village in the commune of Tandel, in north-eastern Luxembourg. As of 2001, the village had a population of 207. Until 1 January 2006, Bettel was part of the commune of Fouhren, which was merged with the commune of Bastendorf to form the modern commune of Tandel. Bettel is situated on the river Our, just opposite the German border and the village of Roth an der Our.

Bastendorf (Luxembourgish: Baastenduerf) is a small town in the commune of Tandel, in north-eastern Luxembourg. As of 2005, the town has a population of 371. Bastendorf was a commune in the canton of Diekirch until 1 January 2006, when it was merged with the commune of Fouhren to form the new commune of Tandel, in Vianden. The law creating Tandel was passed on 21 December 2004.

Bettendorf (Luxembourgish: Bettenduerf) is a commune and town in eastern Luxembourg. It lies along the river Sauer. It is part of the canton of Diekirch, which is part of the district of Diekirch. As of 2001, the town of Bettendorf itself, which lies in the centre of the commune, has a population of 1,045. Other towns within the commune include Bleesbruck, Gilsdorf and Moestroff. The privately owned Bettendorf Castle dates from 1728 and is built in the Baroque style.

Seltz (Luxembourgish: Selz or Sëlz) is a village in northeastern Luxembourg.It is situated in the commune of Tandel and has a population of 96.

Gentingen is a municipality in the district of Bitburg-Prüm, in Rhineland-Palatinate, western Germany.
