The Sylvan Grove Theater and Columns, also known as the Sylvan Grove Theater or simply the Sylvan Theater, is a sylvan theater located on the University of Washington campus in Seattle, Washington. Within the theater are four 24 foot (7.3 m) tall Ionic columns from the original University building downtown, constructed in 1861. They are some of the oldest-standing architectural pieces in Seattle. It has been called "one of the most beautiful places on campus."The columns were named "Loyalty", "Industry", "Faith", and "Efficiency" (LIFE) by University Comptroller Herbert T. Condon and Edmond S. Meany, head of the History Department.

The University of Washington Medical Center (UWMC) is a hospital in the University District of Seattle, Washington, United States. It is one of the teaching hospitals affiliated with the University of Washington School of Medicine, and is located in the Warren G. Magnuson Health Sciences Center. The UWMC opened on May 5, 1959, having grown out of the medical school that the university opened in 1946. It was home to the world's first pain center and also the location of the world's first long-term kidney dialysis, developed by UW professor Belding H. Scribner, M.D. Since the addition of the eight-story Montlake Tower to the complex in September 2012 at a cost of $210 million, the UWMC has had more than 570 beds available for patients' use. The 2007 issue of U.S. News & World Report's "America's Best Hospitals" ranked the UWMC 10th out of over 5,000 hospitals nationwide. Many UWMC programs score highly in specialty rankings, such as primary care, rehabilitation medicine, and neurology/neurosurgery.In May 2013, it was announced that UW Medicine, which owns and operates the UWMC, and PeaceHealth would join forces with one another in a "strategic affiliation." The American Civil Liberties Union criticized the merger, due to PeaceHealth being "directed by the Catholic Ethical and Religious Directives."

The University of Washington School of Pharmacy was founded in 1894 and included four women in its inaugural class of students. It is one of two PharmD granting institutions within the state of Washington. Offices are located within the Warren G. Magnuson Health Sciences Building on the University of Washington campus. U.S. News & World Report ranked the School of Pharmacy as tied for the ninth best pharmacy school in the United States in 2016.Sean Sullivan became the 9th dean of the school in 2014.As of 2015, the school has 381 PharmD students, 59 PhD students, and 40 Masters of Science students and is 64% female.

The School of Nursing is part of the University of Washington (UW). It offers five degree programs accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education: one bachelors, two masters and two doctoral. As of February 2014, there are "128 tenured faculty, research faculty and instructors; 359 affiliate and clinical faculty; and 10 adjunct faculty"; and "over 650 students, including 400 graduate students".

The Alaska–Yukon–Pacific Exposition was a world's fair held in Seattle in 1909, publicizing the development of the Pacific Northwest. It was originally planned for 1907, to mark the 10th anniversary of the Klondike Gold Rush, but the organizers found out about the Jamestown Exposition being held that year, and rescheduled. The fairgrounds became the campus of the University of Washington.

Drumheller Fountain, also known as the Frosh Pond since the early 1900s, is an outdoor fountain on the University of Washington campus in Seattle, Washington, in the United States. The fountain was given its name is 1961 to honor the University Regent Joseph Drumheller, who gifted the actual fountain to the University for its centennial celebration.Drumheller Fountain is predated by a pond similar in design and location known as Geyser Basin, which was built for the 1909 Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition. While the design and location are similar, Geyser Basin was a separate, distinct structure from the current-day Drumheller Fountain.

The College of Arts and Sciences (CAS) is the liberal arts and sciences unit of the University of Washington. In autumn 2017, the CAS offered more than 5,887 different courses and had an enrollment of 21,025 students, making it the largest division of the university.

A bust of James J. Hill, called The Empire Builder, is installed on the University of Washington campus, in Seattle, Washington. The sculpture was created by Finn Haakon Frolich for the city's first world's fair in 1909.It is located on Stevens Way at the northwest end of More Hall (civil and environmental engineering).

Benson Hall is a building in the University of Washington campus. It is home to the chemical engineering department. The building was named after Henry K. Benson, a faculty member from 1904 to 1954. During this time, he held the position of Chair of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering. Leonard William Bindon and John LeBaron Wright designed Benson Hall.Benson Hall is located along Stevens Way, on the south side of the University of Washington campus. It is southwest of Bagley Hall, southeast of the Chemistry Library, and northwest of the Medicinal Herb Garden. The building itself consists of three above ground floors and a basement. The main floor is home to a computer lab, the main office, a student lounge, a lobby, a research lab, and two classrooms. The second and third floors hold faculty offices, grad student offices, a classroom, and many research laboratories. The basement contains the remainder of the graduate student offices, research laboratories, and the Unit operations lab. Benson Hall is home to the University of Washington student chapter of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (UW AIChE). The UW AIChE chapter is responsible for a variety of student events on campus.

Allen, Bill Gates and others spent significant time at Washington computer labs for a startup venture before founding Microsoft.The UW's 22 varsity sports teams are also highly competitive, competing as the Huskies in the Pac-12 Conference of the NCAA Division I, representing the United States at the Olympic Games, and other major competitions.

The University of Washington School of Dentistry is the dental school of the University of Washington. It is located in Seattle, and is the only school of dentistry in the state of Washington. The school emphasizes research in anxiety, orofacial pain, tissue repair and regeneration, immune response to bacteria, and practice based research.

The University of Washington School of Public Health is the only public health school located in the Northwest, and is based on the main campus of the University of Washington in Seattle, Washington. The School is accredited through the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH). It ranks among the United States' best schools for public health. U.S. News & World Report ranked the school sixth among all public health schools in its last survey of this discipline (2014).
