Carson River Canyon

Parker Carson Airport (FAA LID: 25NV (formerly 2Q5)) is a privately owned, public use airport located five nautical miles (6 mi, 9 km) east of the central business district of Carson City, Nevada, United States. It was formerly known as Parker Carson STOLport.

The Sagebrush was owned and operated by Dennis Hof until his death in 2018.

The Love Ranch is a legal, licensed brothel located about 7 miles (11 km) east of Carson City, Nevada in the unincorporated town of Mound House, in Lyon County, at 95 Kit Kat Drive, also known as The Love Ranch North. It sits along the southeast side of the cul de sac at the end of Kit Kat Drive, just off Highway 50 (Lincoln Highway), approximately 1.2 mile (1.6 km) from the Moonlite BunnyRanch. Also on the cul de sac are two other brothels the Kit Kat Guest Ranch and the Sagebrush Ranch; and Madam Suzette's Red Light Cabaret Strip Club. The cul de sac is collectively known as the Madam Suzette and Dennis Hof's Red Light District.

The Kit Kat Guest Ranch is a legal, licensed brothel in the US state of Nevada located about 7 miles (11 km) east of Carson City in the unincorporated town of Mound House, in Lyon County, at 48 Kit Kat Drive. The ranch was owned by Dennis Hof until his death in October 2018.It sits along the east side of a loop at the south end of Kit Kat Drive, which also is the home to two other brothels owned by Hof: The Love Ranch and the Sagebrush Ranch. The name of this brothel is often shortened to the Kit Kat Ranch.

The Moonlite BunnyRanch is a legal, licensed brothel in Mound House, Nevada, United States, 6 miles (10 km) east of Carson City. First opened in 1955, it came to national attention under Dennis Hof, who owned the brothel from 1992 until his death in 2018.

The George L. Sanford House, at 405 N. Roop St. in Carson City, Nevada, United States, was built in c.1910. It includes Bungalow/craftsman, Stick/Eastlake, and Second Empire architecture. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1994; the listing included two contributing buildings.George L. Sanford came to Nevada in about 1906, and was experienced in law and in the newspaper industry; he came to control the Carson City News newspaper. It was deemed significant as the sole surviving buildings associated with the "powerful" Sanford family (including George's brothers Graham and Leigh) and also for its architecture.

The Glenbrook is a 2-6-0, Mogul type, narrow-gauge steam railway locomotive built by Baldwin Locomotive Works in 1875 for the Carson and Tahoe Lumber and Fluming Company's 3 ft (914 mm) narrow-gauge railroad.

Nevada State Prison (NSP) was a penitentiary located in Carson City. The prison was in continuous operation since its establishment in 1862 and was managed by the Nevada Department of Corrections. It was one of the oldest prisons still operating in the United States. The high security facility housed 219 inmates in September 2011. It was designed to hold 841 inmates and employed a staff of 211.In the early 20th century, the prison became the sole designated facility for executions by the state of Nevada. It carried out the first death sentence by gas chamber in the United States with the execution of Gee Jon on February 8, 1924.The state of Nevada chose to close the facility for budgetary reasons. The prison closed its doors on May 18, 2012, with all inmates transferred to other institutions or released. Although the prison has closed, it was still designated as the site of executions for the State of Nevada, until the current execution chamber at Ely State Prison opened in 2016.
