Kingston on Soar is a village and civil parish in the Rushcliffe borough of Nottinghamshire, England.

Kingston Hall is a country house in Kingston on Soar, Nottinghamshire.It was built between 1842 and 1846 to designs by the architect Edward Blore for Edward Strutt, 1st Baron Belper. It was made a Grade II listed building in 1987.The grounds of Kingston Hall contains a Grade II listed Pavilion and a Grade II listed stable block. In 1916 it was the birthplace of Lavinia Mary Strutt, (later Lavinia Fitzalan-Howard, Duchess of Norfolk), daughter of Algernon Strutt, 3rd Baron Belper and his wife, Eva Strutt. It was subdivided into separate apartments in 1977.

The Sutton Bonington weather station is a functioning weather station located in Sutton Bonington, Nottinghamshire in England. The weather station is located 9.0 miles (14.5 km) from the city centre of Nottingham and 4.7 miles (7.6 km) from the town centre of Loughborough. The Sutton Bonington station was formerly Nottingham's main weather station. The weather station was established in 1908 and the recording of weather records began in 1924. The weather centre is currently being managed by the Met Office.

Kingston Brook is a small river in central England. It arises near Old Dalby, Leicestershire on the northern edge of the ridge running from Normanton-on-Soar, Nottinghamshire to Belvoir, Leicestershire. It runs through Willoughby on the Wolds, to the south of Wysall (where it picks up a number of minor tributaries), Costock, East Leake (where it is joined by Sheepwash Brook), West Leake and meets the River Soar near Kingston-on-Soar.

Ratcliffe-on-Soar is a village and civil parish in Nottinghamshire on the River Soar. It is part of the Rushcliffe district, and is the site of Ratcliffe-on-Soar Power Station. Nearby places are Kingston on Soar, Kegworth and Trentlock. With a population of around 100, measured at 141 in the 2011 Census, the parish is too small to have a parish council and so has a parish meeting. Although the village does not contain any shops, it has a church and a marina which is often affected by severe flooding as it built on designated floodplain, just before the Soar joins the River Trent at Trentlock.

Holy Trinity Church, Ratcliffe-on-Soar is a Grade I listed parish church in the Church of England in Ratcliffe-on-Soar. It is part of an informal grouping of five churches that are known collectively as "The 453 Churches" as they straddle the A453. University Farm is a 445 hectare (4.45 km2) commercial research farm attached to the Sutton Bonington Campus of the University of Nottingham, England. It lies across the parishes of Sutton Bonington and Kingston on Soar. There are two further blocks of land in Clifton on the north bank of the River Trent and at Bunny Park in the village of Bunny. Both these block are several miles from the main campus.

East Midlands Parkway railway station is located north of Ratcliffe-on-Soar on the Midland Main Line in the East Midlands of England. It provides park and ride facilities for rail passengers on the routes from Leicester to Derby and Nottingham. It is also the closest station to East Midlands Airport, some 4 miles (6.4 km) away, but without public transport link. The station lies in south-west Nottinghamshire, close to the boundaries with Leicestershire and Derbyshire, between the stations at Loughborough, Long Eaton and Attenborough. When it opened, there was a little-used shuttle bus from the station to the airport, but this ceased not long afterwards. An hourly minibus service was re-introduced in 2015 but later withdrawn. The main station building and the 850-vehicle car park are to the west of the line, opposite Ratcliffe-on-Soar Power Station. Road access is via the A453, which provides a link to the nearby M1 motorway.

Ratcliffe-on-Soar Power Station is a coal-fired power station owned and operated by Uniper at Ratcliffe-on-Soar in Nottinghamshire, England. Commissioned in 1968 by the Central Electricity Generating Board, the station has a capacity of 2,000 MW. It is the last remaining operational coal-fired power station in the UK, and is scheduled to close in September 2024.

St. Michael's Church is a parish church in the Church of England in Sutton Bonington, Nottinghamshire. The church is a 13th-century Grade II* Listed building.
