Hoehyeon-dong is a dong, neighbourhood of Jung-gu in Seoul, South Korea.

Namdaemun Market is a large traditional market in Seoul, South Korea. The market is located next to Namdaemun, the "Great South Gate," which was the main southern gate to the old city. It is the oldest and largest market in Korea.

Eunhosikdang (Korean: 은호식당) is a historic Korean restaurant in Jung District, Seoul, South Korea. It is the fourth oldest active restaurant in Seoul, having been founded in 1932. It specializes in the dish kkori-gomtang (oxtail soup). It is close to the Namdaemun area, near Namdaemun Market. Customers reportedly wear gloves to pick up and eat the meat and bones from the kkori-gomtang. The meat can be dipped in a house sauce, and the soup has noodles in it. The restaurant also serves other dishes, such as yangji-tang (brisket soup) and seolleongtang. The restaurant is reportedly the oldest in Jung District. It was founded in 1932 by Kim Eun-im (김은임) as a tent restaurant in Namdaemun Market. Eventually, she acquired a permanent space for the restaurant, which she dubbed Pyeonghwaok (평화옥); around this time she encountered Lee Myeong-sun (이명순), whom she would eventually adopt as her daughter and pass the restaurant onto. During the 1950–1953 Korean War, Kim fled to Busan and temporarily reopened the restaurant there. After Kim's return to Seoul, she eventually acquired a storefront for the restaurant, which she named Eunseongok (은성옥). After the 1968 Namdaemun Market fire, the restaurant reopened under the name Eunhosikdang. Amidst plans to redevelop the Namdaemun area, the restaurant opened two branches with the intent to move out of the Namdaemun area; this never ended up happening, so it maintained all three branches. The first branch opened in the Seosomun area in 2002, and the second in Yeouido in 2005. By 2019, it was reportedly run by the fourth generation of the same family. It first served haejang-guk (a dish said to cure hangovers). After government officials tried the kkori-gomtang, the dish became a hit in the store. In 2013, it was made a Seoul Future Heritage.

On February 10, 2008, an arsonist set fire to the historic Namdaemun gate (officially "Sungnyemun") in Seoul, South Korea, causing severe damage to the 550-year-old structure. The monument was subsequently restored and reopened to the public in 2013.

Namdaemun (Korean: 남대문; Hanja: 南大門, lit. 'South Great Gate'), officially known as the Sungnyemun (Korean: 숭례문; Hanja: 崇禮門, lit. 'Honoring Propriety Gate'), is one of the Eight Gates in the Fortress Wall of Seoul, South Korea, which surrounded the city in the Joseon dynasty. It is located in Jung-gu between Seoul Station and Seoul Plaza, with the historic 24-hour Namdaemun Market next to the gate. The gate, dating back to the 14th century, is a historic pagoda-style gateway, and is designated as the first National Treasure of South Korea. It was once one of the three major gateways through Seoul's city walls which had a stone circuit of 18.2 kilometres (11.3 mi) and stood up to 6.1 metres (20 ft) high. It was first built in the last year of King Taejo of Joseon's reign in 1398, and rebuilt in 1447. In 2008, the wooden pagoda atop the gate was severely damaged by arson. Restoration work on the gateway started in February 2010 and was completed on 29 April 2013. The gate was reopened on 4 May 2013.

Millennium Hilton Seoul is a luxury hotel in Seoul, part of Hilton Hotels & Resorts. The hotel opened in 1983 as the Seoul Hilton and is located at 50 Sowol-ro, Jung-gu, in the central business and shopping district in downtown Seoul.The hotel was originally owned by Daewoo Group, which sold it to City Developments Limited in 1999. In December 2021, City Developments announced plans to sell the hotel and adjacent land to IGIS Asset Management, a Korean real estate firm, for 1.1 trillion won ($934 million).Millennium Seoul Hilton is listed in the Forbes Travel Guide.

Namsan cable car is an aerial tramway in Seoul. Built in 1962, it spans from the Hoehyeon-dong platform (near Myeong-dong) to the Yejang-dong platform near the top of Mt. Namsan and the N Seoul Tower. It is the first commercial cable car service for passengers in Korea.The length of the cable is 605 metres. The altitude difference of 138 metres makes a gradient of 13°. The cabins move at a speed of 3.2 m/s. The transit between platforms takes about three minutes.An elevator, opened in June 2009 by the Seoul Metropolitan Government, operates from near the entrance of Namsan Tunnel Three up to the cable car station. It runs along the slope of Namsan with a capacity for 20 passengers to provide better access for the disabled and senior citizens.

Keijō Post Office (京城郵便局, Korean: 경성우편국) was a post office building in Keijō (Seoul), Korea, Empire of Japan from 1915 to 1957. The building was inherited by the Seoul Central Post Office after the 1945 liberation of Korea, but significantly damaged during the 1950–1953 Korean War. It was torn down and replaced with a different building around 1957. Seoul Central Post Office still operates on the location of this building today.

Global Village Folk Museum was a museum in Seoul, South Korea. It is located near Mt. Namsan.

The Daeyeonggak Hotel fire was a skyscraper fire in Seoul, South Korea on 25 December 1971, that killed 164 people and injured 63 people. It remains the deadliest hotel fire in history.

Embassy of China in Seoul（Chinese: 中国驻韩国大使馆 ; Korean: 주 대한민국 중화인민공화국대사관）, is the official diplomatic mission of the People's Republic of China to the Republic of Korea. The embassy is located at 83-7 2nd St, Myeong-dong District, Seoul. The current ambassador is Xing Haiming. It was originally purchased by Qing merchants and built as the "Qing Merchant Guild Hall". In 1883, it was renamed to the "Qing Mansion". In 1885, when Yuan Shikai went to Korea to negotiate trade matters, it was renamed again to the "Prime Minister's Office".
