Hayhurst is a neighborhood in the southwest section of Portland, Oregon, on the border with (and in some areas slightly extending into) Washington County. It borders Raleigh Hills and Beaverton (on the west), and the Portland neighborhoods of Bridlemile (on the north), Hillsdale (on the east), and Maplewood and Multnomah (on the south). The community of Vermont Hills lies within the neighborhood (45°28′39″N 122°43′37″W). In the western part of the neighborhood is Alpenrose Dairy (1916), a community institution featuring a velodrome, baseball park, and replica Western frontier town ("Dairyville"). Pendleton Park (1955) is a green space with a playground, a baseball diamond, the Vermont Hills Community Garden, and an 8-foot rabbit entitled Vincent, Waiting for Alice. It is adjacent to Hayhurst Elementary School.

Alpenrose Dairy is a dairy and home delivery company located in the Hayhurst neighborhood of southwest Portland, Oregon, since 1916. It was owned by the Cadonau family for several generations until being sold to Smith Brothers Farms, a family-owned dairy located in Kent, Washington, in August 2019.The brand was named after the alpine rose (Rosa pendulina) by the Swiss-born wife and early co-owner of the dairy. Alpenrose is a "supplier of dairy products to retail, wholesale and ingredient customers in Portland and throughout the Northwest". In 2020, addressing the growing demand for delivery services the company introduced Alpenrose Home Delivery, a weekly grocery delivery service that provides customers with Alpenrose brand dairy products and other locally-made grocery items. Deliveries are facilitated by the company's fleet of milkmen and milkwomen, who deliver groceries by neighborhood and are unique to the service.The 52 acres (21 ha) grounds of the dairy include: Circuit d'Alpenrose, a velodrome, one of only 25 such tracks in the United States. The track was built to host the 1967 National Championships. At 268.43 meters around with a 16.6-metre (54 ft) radius and a 43-degree bank, Alpenrose is one of the steepest velodromes in the country. Alpenrose is home to the only North American Six-day race. It hosts races all summer, and annually draws the largest velodrome crowd in North America for the Alpenrose Challenge, in mid-July.Alpenrose Field, the site of baseball and softball games, including Little League Softball World Series games, from 1956-2019. Dairyville, a replica of a western frontier town, with false-front shops, a doll museum, an ice cream parlor, a harness-maker's store, a music shop, and a 600-seat opera house with a pipe organ (with 4000 pipes). A quarter-midget racing arena.Products from Alpenrose include milk, ice cream, eggs, and various cultured dairy products.

Gabriel Park is a 90.65-acre (366,800 m2) public park in Portland, Oregon, United States. It features a baseball field, softball field, soccer field, basketball courts, tennis courts, skatepark, volleyball courts, disabled access play area, disabled access restrooms, dog off-leash area, paved and unpaved paths, reservable picnic sites, and WiFi. The park is located between the Maplewood, Multnomah, and Hillsdale neighborhoods of Southwest Portland at 45th Avenue and Vermont Street. The Southwest Community Center is located at the Northwest corner of Gabriel Park. Amenities include indoor swimming pool, indoor basketball court, fitness room, gymnasium, rock climbing wall, weight room, kitchen, meeting room, party room, and wireless Internet access.

The 40-Mile Loop is a partially completed greenway trail around and through Portland in the U.S. state of Oregon. It was proposed in 1903 by the Olmsted Brothers architecture firm as part of the development of Forest Park. One greenway expert calls it "one of the most creative and resourceful greenway projects in the country."The name's "forty" was obsolete within a few decades after it was proposed. The proposed total path is now about 140 miles (230 km) long, and connects more than thirty city parks. Similarly, "loop" is not entirely accurate. There are several subloops, cutoffs and spur trails within the system. One spur is proposed to connect to the Pacific Crest Trail.

Ashcreek is a Southwest Portland, Oregon neighborhood. It borders Maplewood to the north, Multnomah and Crestwood to the east, Far Southwest to the south, and the Washington County communities of Garden Home–Whitford and Tigard to the west. Though like the city itself it lies mostly in Multnomah County, it extends a short distance into Washington County in several places on its western side.

Crestwood is a neighborhood in the Southwest section of Portland, Oregon located between SW 45th Ave. and Barbur Blvd., adjacent to Multnomah and Ashcreek. Woods Memorial Natural Area is located here, a swath of urban wilderness visited on occasion by elk.

The Ole and Polly Oleson Farmhouse is a historic house located near Portland, Oregon. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places on February 22, 1991.

Multnomah is a neighborhood in the southwest section of Portland, Oregon, centered on the Multnomah Village business district. The community developed in the 1910s around a depot of the Oregon Electric Railway of the same name. It was annexed by the city of Portland on November 7, 1950.Multnomah is bordered by SW 45th Ave. on the west, SW Capitol Hill Road on the east, SW Vermont St. on the north, and I-5 in the south. Exceptions are the area north of SW Nevada Ct. and east of SW 26th Ave. (part of Hillsdale), an area south of SW Multnomah Blvd. and north of SW Dolph St. where SW 48th Ave. is the western border, and an area south of SW Marigold St. where SW Capitol Highway is the western border. The neighborhood is bordered by Maplewood, Ashcreek, and Crestwood on the west, Hayhurst and Hillsdale to the north, and South Burlingame, Markham, and West Portland Park to the south and east. A bit of Portland history played out in the Village on April 7, 1987, when Mayor Bud Clark fired Police Chief Jim Davis while the two were having a breakfast meeting at the Fat City Cafe.The neighborhood celebrates "Multnomah Days" with a parade and street festival on the third Saturday of August.

KPDQ (800 kHz) is a commercial AM radio station in Portland, Oregon. It is owned by Salem Media Group and serves the Portland metropolitan area, with a Christian talk and teaching radio format known as "True Talk 800." The studios and offices are on SE Lake Road in Portland. KPDQ is co-owned with KPDQ-FM, also a Christian talk and teaching station. Each station runs its own schedule. KPDQ is powered at 1,000 watts, using a non-directional antenna. But because AM 800 is a Mexican clear channel frequency reserved for XEROK in Ciudad Juarez, KPDQ must reduce power at night to 500 watts. The transmitter is off SW Vermont Street in Beaverton, Oregon. In Portland and adjacent communities, KPDQ programming can also be heard on 99 watt FM translator K292HH, at 106.3 MHz.

The Thomas Michos House, located in Portland, Oregon, is a house listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The house is believed to be designed by Roscoe Hemenway, a well-known and prolific architect in Portland, Oregon. His name is listed as the heading in a 1975 Oregonian ad regarding this home. The landscape architect is believed to be Adolph Meyer of Alpine Gardens who designed the extensive gardens and stonework with ponds. He was Swiss-trained. The original owners were Thomas and Myrtle Michos, who opened the Jolly Joan restaurant in 1932. This became Oregon's largest and most popular restaurant, serving up to 12,000 people per day at Broadway near Washington in the Morgan building, which later became the shopping mall Morgans Alley. For most of its existence, the Jolly Joan was open 24 hours per day 7 days a week, closing only for 2 hours during Roosevelt's funeral.
