Saughall is a village and former civil parish in the unitary authority area of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. Located between Shotwick and Blacon, it is approximately 4.8 km (3.0 mi) north west of Chester and 1.8 km (1.1 mi) from Sealand across the Welsh border. At the 2001 census, there were 3,084 residents in the village reducing to 3,009 at the 2011 census. A total of 3,585 people living in the ward of Saughall, with 48.5% male and 51.5% female. This electoral ward was called Saughall and Mollington at the 2011 census. The total ward population at this census was 4,463.

Shotwick Castle is a Norman medieval fortification near the village of Saughall, Cheshire, England. Construction began in the late 11th century. Its purpose was to control a crossing point on the River Dee between England and Wales. The site is a scheduled monument. No masonry features remain above ground except for earthworks.

All Saints Church, Great Saughall, is located in Church Road in the civil parish of Saughall and Shotwick Park, formerly Saughall and before that Great Saughall, in the county of Cheshire, England. It is an active Anglican parish church in the deanery of Wirral South, the archdeaconry of Chester, and the diocese of Chester. The church is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II listed building.

Shotwick Park is a small settlement and former civil parish, in the unitary authority of Cheshire West and Chester and the ceremonial county of Cheshire, England. Located between the villages of Shotwick and Saughall, it is approximately 8 km (5.0 mi) north west of Chester and close to the Welsh border. The civil parish was abolished on 1 April 2015 to form Saughall and Shotwick Park, with part also incorporated into the parish of Puddington.The area is the location of the remnants of Shotwick Castle (grid reference SJ349704), built about 1093 by Hugh Lupus, 1st Earl of Chester. This Norman motte and bailey fortification was constructed as part of the Welsh border defences in the area. The land surrounding the castle became enclosed as a park in 1327. By the 1620s, the castle was in a ruinous condition.According to the 1831 edition of A Topographical Dictionary of England, Shotwick Park was "an extra-parochial liberty" within the Wirral Hundred. The liberty comprised "970 acres, the soil of which is clay." It became a civil parish in 1858. The population was recorded at 25 in 1801, 13 in 1851, 8 in 1901, 78 in 1951 and 56 in 2001.Shotwick Park is a rural residential area with communal amenities provided in the nearby village of Saughall. A small industrial estate development also exists at Shotwick Park.

Broughton railway station (Welsh: Brychdyn; also proposed as Broughton Parkway; Welsh: Parcffordd Brychdyn) is a proposed railway station on the North Wales Coast line, situated north of Broughton, Flintshire, Wales. Recent proposals for the station use a site north of Airbus UK's West factory site and Hawarden Airport, where the B5129 crosses the North Wales Coast line. Older proposals for the station include using the old sites of the former Sandycroft and Saltney Ferry railway stations. Broughton forms part of Transport for Wales' 2029 goals for the North Wales Metro.

Sandycroft railway station was located on the eastern edge of the village of Sandycroft, Flintshire.

Sandycroft is a village in Flintshire, Wales, approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) southeast of Queensferry and 7 miles (11 km) southwest of Chester, on the B5129 road between Queensferry and Broughton. The community population taken at the 2011 census was 6,724.

Hawarden Airport (Welsh: Maes Awyr Penarlâg) (IATA: CEG, ICAO: EGNR), is an airport near Hawarden in Flintshire, Wales, near the border with England and 3.5 NM (6.5 km; 4.0 mi) west southwest of the English city of Chester. Aviation Park Group (APG) is based at the airport and provides handling and related services to private clients. APG has a longterm tenancy agreement with Airbus UK, giving sole handling rights at the site.A large Airbus factory, which produces aircraft wings, is located at the airport. The factory is known as the Broughton factory, named after the nearest village.

Blacon High School, officially Blacon High School, A Specialist Sports College, is a coeducational secondary school located in Blacon in the English county of Cheshire.As a foundation school, Blacon is administered by Cheshire West and Chester Council. The school moved into a new building in 2016 as part of the Priority Schools Building Programme.Blacon High School offers GCSEs, BTECs and Cambridge Nationals as programmes of study for pupils. There are also some vocational courses available.
