Niskayuna Reformed Church is a historic Dutch Reformed church located at 3041 Troy-Schenectady Road in Niskayuna in Schenectady County, New York. It was built in 1852 and is a brick, gable-roofed building in the Greek Revival style. It has brick pilasters and a brick frieze around the entire building. It features a two-stage central tower consisting of a square section surmounted by an open hexagonal belfry. The adjacent cemetery contains burials dating to the late 18th century. Another reformed church at Lisha Kill, built in 1854, is very similar in design.The church was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Lisha Kill flows through Lisha Kill, New York before emptying into the Mohawk River in Niskayuna, New York. The stream is also referred to as Lisha's Kill and received its name from a local legend about a Native American woman who is buried along its banks.

Niskayuna station is a historic railway station located at Niskayuna in Schenectady County, New York. It was possibly built in 1843 by the Schenectady and Troy Railroad and renovated or replaced in the 1880s. It is a one-story, rectangular, red brick masonry building on a foundation of rough cut quarry stone. It has a gable roof with broad eaves that cover the platform area. The rear wall of the station is situated directly upon the current, steep bank of the Mohawk River. It ceased to be used as a railroad facility in 1964, then was converted to a single family residence. It has been acquired by the town of Niskayuna as part of the Mohawk Hudson Hike/Bike Trail along the former railroad bed.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007 as Niskayuna Railroad Station.

Verdoy, formerly known as Watervliet Center, is a hamlet of the town of Colonie in Albany County, New York, United States. Much of Verdoy is in the Airport Noise Overlay District due to its immediate proximity to Albany International Airport's main north/south runway, which was recently extended by 1,300 feet to the north, moving it even closer to Verdoy. The former Troy & Schenectady Branch of the New York Central Railroad runs along Verdoy's northern border with the Mohawk River; it is now part of the Mohawk Hudson Hike/Bike Trail.

Ebenezer Hills Jr. Farmhouse is a historic home located at Colonie in Albany County, New York. It was built about 1785 and is a two-story, five bay center hall plan frame farmhouse on a stone foundation. It features a one-story porch with a shed roof built about 1860 and supported by simple square columns and decorative brackets. Also on the property are three barns, a shed, and greenhouse.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Watervliet Shaker Historic District, in Colonie, New York, is the site of the first Shaker community. It was established in 1776. The primary Shaker community, the Mount Lebanon Shaker Society, was started a bit later. Watervliet's historic 1848 Shaker meetinghouse has been restored and is used for public events, such as concerts. The founder of the Shakers, Mother Ann Lee, is buried here.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, and the listing was expanded later in the same year. Albany International Airport was constructed on the community's herb garden. At the time it was founded it was located in the Town of Watervliet, which went out of existence in 1896. Since then it has been in the Town of Colonie, not even close to the boundary of the modern City of Watervliet.

The district, located along the Erie Canal, contains several historic structures within the hamlet of Vischer Ferry. These include the Nicholas and Eldret Vischer House, dating from the mid-1700s.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975, with a boundary increase in 1997.

Christian Brothers Academy is a private, Catholic, college preparatory, junior and senior high school for boys founded in 1859 by the De La Salle Christian Brothers (see Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools). Christian Brothers Academy is located in the town of Colonie, New York near the Albany International Airport on a 126-acre (0.51 km2) campus built in 1998. Christian Brothers Academy is independently run by a board of trustees. The school is known for its academic and athletic programs, and has had a 100% college acceptance rate since 1980. The school's athletic program also boasts numerous athletic titles. Christian Brothers Academy educates 556 students in grades 5-12 from 49 different school districts throughout the Capital Region.
