Vischer Ferry Historic District

Vischer Ferry is a hamlet in the town of Clifton Park in Saratoga County, New York, United States, along the Mohawk River.

The Vischer Ferry Nature and Historic Preserve is a 740-acre (3.0 km2) site (including submerged areas) along the Mohawk River in the Town of Clifton Park, New York, near the hamlet of Vischer Ferry. It is owned by the New York State Canal Corporation, but Clifton Park maintains its extensive trail system under a special lease arrangement. The preserve also is known as Vischer Ferry Bird Conservation Area. The preserve includes an original section of the Erie Canal and towpath, constructed in 1825. The main entrance to the preserve includes an 1862 Whipple Truss Bridge, a design commonly used to cross the Erie Canal.Numerous migratory bird species and at-risk bird species use the preserve as habitat. Among these species are: Virginia rail Green heron Heron American bittern Egrets Common nighthawk Rusty blackbirdThe preserve also includes an abundance of flora, both native and invasive, from hazelnut to bloodroot to white campion.

Niskayuna station is a historic railway station located at Niskayuna in Schenectady County, New York. It was possibly built in 1843 by the Schenectady and Troy Railroad and renovated or replaced in the 1880s. It is a one-story, rectangular, red brick masonry building on a foundation of rough cut quarry stone. It has a gable roof with broad eaves that cover the platform area. The rear wall of the station is situated directly upon the current, steep bank of the Mohawk River. It ceased to be used as a railroad facility in 1964, then was converted to a single family residence. It has been acquired by the town of Niskayuna as part of the Mohawk Hudson Hike/Bike Trail along the former railroad bed.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007 as Niskayuna Railroad Station.

Lisha Kill flows through Lisha Kill, New York before emptying into the Mohawk River in Niskayuna, New York. The stream is also referred to as Lisha's Kill and received its name from a local legend about a Native American woman who is buried along its banks.

Niskayuna Reformed Church is a historic Dutch Reformed church located at 3041 Troy-Schenectady Road in Niskayuna in Schenectady County, New York. It was built in 1852 and is a brick, gable-roofed building in the Greek Revival style. It has brick pilasters and a brick frieze around the entire building. It features a two-stage central tower consisting of a square section surmounted by an open hexagonal belfry. The adjacent cemetery contains burials dating to the late 18th century. Another reformed church at Lisha Kill, built in 1854, is very similar in design.The church was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

Jedediah Strong House is a historic home located at Colonie in Albany County, New York. It was built about 1795 and is a two-story, six bay wide dwelling with two symmetrically placed end chimneys in the Federal style. It features a small entrance portico with a hipped roof and supported by square columns. Also on the property is a contributing barn.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Verdoy, formerly known as Watervliet Center, is a hamlet of the town of Colonie in Albany County, New York, United States. Much of Verdoy is in the Airport Noise Overlay District due to its immediate proximity to Albany International Airport's main north/south runway, which was recently extended by 1,300 feet to the north, moving it even closer to Verdoy. The former Troy & Schenectady Branch of the New York Central Railroad runs along Verdoy's northern border with the Mohawk River; it is now part of the Mohawk Hudson Hike/Bike Trail.
