Verdoy, formerly known as Watervliet Center, is a hamlet of the town of Colonie in Albany County, New York, United States. Much of Verdoy is in the Airport Noise Overlay District due to its immediate proximity to Albany International Airport's main north/south runway, which was recently extended by 1,300 feet to the north, moving it even closer to Verdoy. The former Troy & Schenectady Branch of the New York Central Railroad runs along Verdoy's northern border with the Mohawk River; it is now part of the Mohawk Hudson Hike/Bike Trail.

Jedediah Strong House is a historic home located at Colonie in Albany County, New York. It was built about 1795 and is a two-story, six bay wide dwelling with two symmetrically placed end chimneys in the Federal style. It features a small entrance portico with a hipped roof and supported by square columns. Also on the property is a contributing barn.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Heritage Park was a stadium in Colonie, New York, USA. It was primarily used for baseball but was also used for high school and college football games. It had a capacity of 5,500.

Niskayuna station is a historic railway station located at Niskayuna in Schenectady County, New York. It was possibly built in 1843 by the Schenectady and Troy Railroad and renovated or replaced in the 1880s. It is a one-story, rectangular, red brick masonry building on a foundation of rough cut quarry stone. It has a gable roof with broad eaves that cover the platform area. The rear wall of the station is situated directly upon the current, steep bank of the Mohawk River. It ceased to be used as a railroad facility in 1964, then was converted to a single family residence. It has been acquired by the town of Niskayuna as part of the Mohawk Hudson Hike/Bike Trail along the former railroad bed.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2007 as Niskayuna Railroad Station.

Watervliet Shaker Historic District, in Colonie, New York, is the site of the first Shaker community. It was established in 1776. The primary Shaker community, the Mount Lebanon Shaker Society, was started a bit later. Watervliet's historic 1848 Shaker meetinghouse has been restored and is used for public events, such as concerts. The founder of the Shakers, Mother Ann Lee, is buried here.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1973, and the listing was expanded later in the same year. Albany International Airport was constructed on the community's herb garden. At the time it was founded it was located in the Town of Watervliet, which went out of existence in 1896. Since then it has been in the Town of Colonie, not even close to the boundary of the modern City of Watervliet.

Lisha Kill flows through Lisha Kill, New York before emptying into the Mohawk River in Niskayuna, New York. The stream is also referred to as Lisha's Kill and received its name from a local legend about a Native American woman who is buried along its banks.

Niskayuna Reformed Church is a historic Dutch Reformed church located at 3041 Troy-Schenectady Road in Niskayuna in Schenectady County, New York. It was built in 1852 and is a brick, gable-roofed building in the Greek Revival style. It has brick pilasters and a brick frieze around the entire building. It features a two-stage central tower consisting of a square section surmounted by an open hexagonal belfry. The adjacent cemetery contains burials dating to the late 18th century. Another reformed church at Lisha Kill, built in 1854, is very similar in design.The church was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1979.

The Vischer Ferry Nature and Historic Preserve is a 740-acre (3.0 km2) site (including submerged areas) along the Mohawk River in the Town of Clifton Park, New York, near the hamlet of Vischer Ferry. It is owned by the New York State Canal Corporation, but Clifton Park maintains its extensive trail system under a special lease arrangement. The preserve also is known as Vischer Ferry Bird Conservation Area. The preserve includes an original section of the Erie Canal and towpath, constructed in 1825. The main entrance to the preserve includes an 1862 Whipple Truss Bridge, a design commonly used to cross the Erie Canal.Numerous migratory bird species and at-risk bird species use the preserve as habitat. Among these species are: Virginia rail Green heron Heron American bittern Egrets Common nighthawk Rusty blackbirdThe preserve also includes an abundance of flora, both native and invasive, from hazelnut to bloodroot to white campion.

Christian Brothers Academy is a private, Catholic, college preparatory, junior and senior high school for boys founded in 1859 by the De La Salle Christian Brothers (see Institute of the Brothers of the Christian Schools). Christian Brothers Academy is located in the town of Colonie, New York near the Albany International Airport on a 126-acre (0.51 km2) campus built in 1998. Christian Brothers Academy is independently run by a board of trustees. The school is known for its academic and athletic programs, and has had a 100% college acceptance rate since 1980. The school's athletic program also boasts numerous athletic titles. Christian Brothers Academy educates 556 students in grades 5-12 from 49 different school districts throughout the Capital Region.

John Wolf Kemp House was a historic home located at Colonie in Albany County, New York. It was built about 1780 and was a 2-story, L-shaped frame farmhouse with a gable roof and five bays wide. It had a 1+1⁄2-story rear ell. It featured a 1-story hip-roofed enclosed porch over the three central bays. The entrance and side parlors have Federal-style details. Also on the property were a contributing privy and summer kitchen. The house was demolished in May 2003.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1985.

Vischer Ferry Historic District is a historic district in Saratoga County, New York. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975 and its boundaries were increased in 1997. The district, located along the Erie Canal, contains several historic structures within the hamlet of Vischer Ferry. These include the Nicholas and Eldret Vischer House, dating from the mid-1700s.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1975, with a boundary increase in 1997.
