Herongate

Herongate and Ingrave is a civil parish in the Brentwood borough in Essex, England. The parish includes the villages of Ingrave and Herongate. The parish was formed on 1 April 2003 from part of the unparished area of Brentwood.

All Saints' Church is a redundant Anglican church in the village of East Horndon, Essex, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building, and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. The church stands north of the village, and northwest of the junction between the A127 and A128 roads, some 4 miles (6 km) south of Brentwood.

Ingrave is a village and former civil parish in the Brentwood in Essex, England. It is situated on and around the A128 road, 2 miles (3.2 km) southeast of the town of Brentwood. Together with the adjoining village of Herongate, it now forms the Herongate and Ingrave civil parish. In 1931 the parish had a population of 692. On 1 January 1937 the parish was abolished and merged with Brentwood.

East Horndon is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of West Horndon, in the south of the borough of Brentwood in Essex in the East of England. It is situated just south of the A127 road near Herongate. The village Church of All Saints is located to the north of the A127, and is redundant, but in the care of the Churches Conservation Trust. In 1931 the parish had a population of 440.

Thorndon Hall is a Georgian Palladian country house within Thorndon Park, Ingrave, Essex, England, approximately two miles south of Brentwood and 25 miles (40 km) from central London. Formerly the country seat of the Petre family who now reside at nearby Ingatestone Hall, the house is located within nearly 600 acres (240 ha) of ancient medieval deer park, meadows and forest. The garden is designed by Capability Brown. Thorndon Hall is Grade-I listed with English Heritage, and the park is Grade II*-listed.

Thorndon Park Chapel (The Petre Chapel) is a former Roman Catholic private chapel situated in Thorndon Park, near the grounds of Thorndon Hall near Ingrave, Essex, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade II* listed building, and is under the care of the Historic Chapels Trust.

West Horndon is a village and civil parish in the south of the Borough of Brentwood, Essex on the boundary with Thurrock. It is located 5 miles (8 km) east of Upminster in the London Borough of Havering, East London and 20 miles (32 km) east north-east of Charing Cross in Central London. The civil parish also includes East Horndon and Dunton Hills. The village has its own parish council and forms part of the 'Herongate, Ingrave and West Horndon' ward of Brentwood Council. The local school is West Horndon Primary School, and the village falls within the Brentwood County High catchment area. West Horndon parish was abolished in 1934 and created again in 2003 with new boundaries following a petition by residents in 2002.

West Horndon railway station is on the London, Tilbury and Southend line, serving the village of West Horndon situated on the boundary of the boroughs of Brentwood and Thurrock, Essex. It is 19 miles 15 chains (30.9 km) down the main line from London Fenchurch Street and is situated between Upminster and Laindon. Its three-letter station code is WHR.

St Martin's School is a coeducational secondary school and sixth form with academy status, located in the Hutton area of Brentwood, Essex, England.It used to be a separate boys and girls school but these were combined in the 1970s to make one co-educational school on the same site. The school is named after Saint Martin who was a Roman soldier who performed a miracle. The school converted to academy status on 1 July 2011.

Childerditch is a settlement and former civil parish now in the unparished area of Brentwood, in the Brentwood district, in the county of Essex, England. It forms part of the Warley borough council ward. In 1931 the parish had a population of 184. On 1 April 1934 the parish was abolished and merged with Brentwood, part also went to Little Burstead.Childerditch church is a landmark on a hilltop to the north of the A127 road. The church is dedicated to All Saints and St Faith. It was constructed in 1869, to the designs of D. C. Nicholls and Fred Johnstone.

Dunton Wayletts (also known as Dunton) is hamlet in the Basildon district in the county of Essex, England. It was formerly a civil parish, and is now in the unparished area of Basildon located on the western outskirts of Laindon, Basildon. In 1931 it had a population of 661.

Little Warley is a village and former civil parish, now in the unparished area of Brentwood, in the Brentwood district, in the county of Essex, England. It is situated south of Thorndon Country Park. In 1931 the parish had a population of 395. On 1 April 1934 the parish was abolished and merged with Brentwood, part also went to Little Burstead.The first outbreak of the 2001 United Kingdom foot-and-mouth outbreak occurred here. Since 2003 the area around St Peter's Church, but not the entire former parish, has formed part of the reconstituted civil parish of West Horndon.
