Genesco Inc. is an American publicly owned specialty retailer of branded footwear and accessories and is a wholesaler of branded and licensed footwear based in Nashville, Tennessee. Founded as the Jarman Shoe Company in 1924 as a footwear manufacturer, the company changed its name to the General Shoe Company in 1931 and became a public company in 1939. The company took its current name, Genesco, in 1959. Genesco exited footwear manufacturing in 2002 and now contracts with independent, third parties located outside the United States to manufacture its branded and licensed footwear. In June 2011, Genesco acquired U.K. retail chain and web business Schuh, which gave them an already well-established grounding in a market outside of the U.S.

The Middle Tennessee Anime Convention (MTAC) is an annual three day anime convention held during April at the Sheraton Music City Hotel and Embassy Suites Nashville Airport in Nashville, Tennessee.

The Middle Tennessee Mental Health Institute, originally known as the Tennessee Hospital for the Insane and later as the Central State Hospital for the Insane, was a psychiatric hospital located in Nashville, Tennessee.

The James Buchanan House is a historic log house in Nashville, Tennessee. It was built circa 1800 by James Buchanan, an early Nashville pioneer and signer of the 1789 Cumberland Compact. It's one of the earliest log homes still in existence in the area and is open to the public. The logs were hewn from Tennessee red cedars and nearly-extinct American chestnut trees. The floors were formed from Tennessee poplars and rest on a Tennessee limestone foundation. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since March 29, 1984.

Buchanan's Station was a fortified stockade established around 1784 in Tennessee. Founded by Major John Buchanan, the settlement was located in what is today the Donelson neighborhood of Nashville, Tennessee. On September 30, 1792, it was the site of the critical Battle of Buchanan's Station during the Cherokee–American wars of the late eighteenth century. The assault by a combined force of around 300 Chickamauga Cherokee, Muscogee Creek, and Shawnee, nominally led by Chief John Watts, was repelled by 15 gunmen under Major Buchanan defending the station. Although smaller raids continued in the region, it was the last major Native American attack on the American settlements in the Cumberland.

Donelson is a neighborhood of Nashville, Tennessee, about 6 mi (10 km) east of downtown Nashville along U.S. Route 70. It is named in honor of John Donelson, co-founder of Nashville and father-in-law of Andrew Jackson, Nashvillian and seventh President of the United States. Donelson is governed by the Metropolitan Council of Nashville and Davidson County, due to the fact that the government of Davidson County is consolidated with that of Nashville.

The Hall-Harding-McCampbell House is a former plantation and historic mansion in Nashville, Tennessee. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since March 23, 2010.

Mill Creek is a 27.9-mile-long (44.9 km) tributary of the Cumberland River that extends through Williamson and Davidson counties in the U.S. state of Tennessee. Via the Cumberland and Ohio rivers, it is part of the Mississippi River watershed. The creek begins near Nolensville, Tennessee, and continues into Metropolitan Nashville, winding through the Antioch, Cane Ridge, South Nashville, and Donelson neighborhoods, before flowing into the Cumberland about 2 miles (3 km) upstream from downtown Nashville. It is prone to flooding, and was the first site of major flooding during the 2010 Tennessee floods. At least five people were killed as a result of the creek's raging flash flood, and millions of dollars of property damage was reported along Mill Creek. Mill Creek is the only known habitat in the world for the endangered Nashville Crayfish.

Ezell Park is an urban park in southeastern Nashville, Tennessee. The park is home to a soccer complex formerly used by the Nashville Metros of the USL PDL, and is run by the Nashville Board of Parks and Recreation. The park is adjacent to a correctional facility which is, as of 2018, being used as the Davidson County Jail.

The Cole House is a historic house in Nashville, Tennessee. It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since December 27, 1974. The original portion of the Cole House at 2001 Lebanon Pike and shown on Wilbur Foster's 1871 Map of Davidson County, is reputed to have been constructed c.1859. According to local legend and family tradition, Edmund Cole constructed the front portions of this structure for his first wife who died in 1869. The house is significant as an example of early Tennessee vernacular architecture and is the only one of three Cole residence remaining.

The Ellis Service Station Garage, or Ellis Garage, at 2000 Old Murfreesboro Rd. in Nashville, Tennessee, was built in 1929. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1991.It was located in the community of Una which used to be about seven miles away from the city limits of Nashville, but has been absorbed into the growing city.It is a one-story 35 by 40 feet (11 m × 12 m) building which is significant architecturally as "a vernacular adaption of a gas station form known as the 'house with bays,' a building type defined by historical geographer John Jakle in his 1975 study of gasoline stations. Jakle's article, "The American Gasoline Station, 1920 to 1970," created a typology for gasoline station identification and analysis that has been generally accepted by geographers, historians, and preservationists ever since."

Bluefields Historic District is a historic neighborhood in Nashville, Tennessee. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places listings in Davidson County, Tennessee (NRHP) in 2016.
