Haddenham Museum

Haddenham is a village and civil parish in west Buckinghamshire, England. It is about 5 miles (8 km) south-west of Aylesbury and 4 miles (6 km) north-east of Thame in neighbouring Oxfordshire. At the 2011 Census, the population of the civil parish was 4,502.

Haddenham War Memorial is located in Church End, Haddenham, Buckinghamshire, England. It is a grade II listed building with Historic England. It was built in the summer of 1921 and unveiled by the Marquis of Lincolnshire on 16 October 1921. The memorial is built from Portland stone and stands 14 feet high. The apex of the obelisk is surmounted by a ball finial carved with acanthus (plant) leaves, between which are the thistle, shamrock and rose. The base has corner pilasters, framing the inscribed panels. On the North face of the obelisk is carved a laurel wreath, with the words ‘OUR GLORIOUS DEAD’ and ‘THEIR NAME LIVETH FOR EVERMORE’. On the plinth are the words: ‘IN/ HONOUR/ AND/ UNDYING MEMORY/ OF/ THE MEN OF THIS VILLAGE/ WHO/ GAVE THEIR LIVES/ IN THE GREAT WAR/ OF/ 1914- 1918/ AND/ 1939 -1945’. The names are then recorded, with the regiments to which the men belonged.

St Mary's Church is the Church of England parish church of Haddenham, Buckinghamshire It is a Grade I listed building.

Haddenham railway station was on the former Great Western and Great Central Joint Railway between Princes Risborough and Ashendon Junction. It was closed in 1963.

Haddenham Airfield was an airfield on the outskirts of the English village of Haddenham, Buckinghamshire. Originally a Second World War airfield called RAF Thame it later came under civil owners Airtech Limited who were based there until the 1990s.

Haddenham & Thame Parkway railway station is a station in Buckinghamshire serving the village of Haddenham and town of Thame in the neighbouring county of Oxfordshire, England. The station is on the western edge of Haddenham, about 2 miles (3 km) north east of Thame, and is served by Chiltern Railways.

Tythrop Park, also known as Tythrop House, is a Grade I–listed 17th-century manor house, set in 51 acres (21 ha) of parkland, in Kingsey, Buckinghamshire, England. According to Pevsner the exterior is plain and unpromising, but inside the house he describes the staircase as one of the finest in the county, with "extremely luscious openwork foliage".The property is noted as having installed an early duck decoy, similar to that at the Boarstall Duck Decoy.It was bought in 2007 for £12.5 million by Nicholas Wheeler (founder of mail-order shirt company Charles Tyrwhitt), and Chrissie Rucker (founder of The White Company). The couple renovated the property before moving in with their four children.

Snakemoor is a 1.8 hectares (4.4 acres) Local Nature Reserve in Haddenham in Buckinghamshire. It is owned and managed by Haddenham Parish Council.The site became a nature reserve in 1987. It has a hay meadow, woods and a pond. There are over 100 species of flowers and other plants, including snowdrops and lent lily, a small native species of daffodil.There is access by a footpath from Thame Road, next to Haddenham and Thame Parkway railway station.

Kingsey is a small village and civil parish in Aylesbury Vale district in Buckinghamshire, England. It is near the boundary with Oxfordshire, about two miles east of Thame and a mile south of Haddenham. The village toponym is of 12th-century origin and means 'king's island', referring to a piece of dry land that belonged to the king in the marshes that were once common in this part of the country. In 1174 the village was called Eya, meaning 'island', though by 1192 it had gained its more modern name of Kingesie. This leads historians to believe that the village is named after King Richard I of England. Kingsey was transferred to Buckinghamshire from Oxfordshire in 1933, effectively being swapped for Towersey.Historically people from this village and those surrounding it were known by the derogatory term 'wetfeet', because of the high water table of the area leading to the ground being so waterlogged. Grade 1 listed Tythrop Park in Kingsey is listed as having an early duck decoy similar to that in Boarstall Duck Decoy in Buckinghamshire. (Location map)

Cuddington is a village and civil parish within the Buckinghamshire district in the ceremonial county of Buckinghamshire, England. It is near the Oxfordshire border, about six miles west of Aylesbury. The village name is Old English (Anglo-Saxon) in origin, and means "Cudda's estate." In the Domesday Book of 1086 it was recorded as Cudintuna. Anciently the village was the location of a medicinal spring of great repute, though its exact location is unknown. The Church of St Nicholas dates from the 12th Century but was much restored in 1857. Across the road is Tyringham Hall that dates from the 17th Century. During the Second World War the King of Norway who was staying at the nearby Hartwell House attended a church service in the village. Cuddington is centred on the village green and the road junction linking Aylesbury, Long Crendon and Haddenham. The majority of the original houses were built on the north side but in the last 50 years or so new homes have been built predominantly on the south side. The current population is around 550 residents. Two of the most famous former residents were Jonathan and David Dimbleby. The village, like surrounding villages, has been the location of several Midsomer Murders episodes. Cuddington and Dinton Church of England School is a mixed Church of England primary school. It is a voluntary aided school, which takes children from the age of four through to the age of eleven. Cuddington was an infant school but has recently merged with Dinton School to form a full primary school on two sites. There are now just over one hundred pupils on roll.

Aston Sandford is a small village and civil parish in Buckinghamshire, England, about 1 mile (1.6 km) east of Haddenham and 4 miles (6.4 km) northwest of Princes Risborough. It is in the civil parish of Kingsey within the Buckinghamshire Council unitary authority area. The "Aston" part of the toponym is derived from the Old English for "Eastern Estate". At the time of the Domesday Book in 1086 the village was known as Cold Aston, and both it and Haddenham were owned by the same manor, suggesting that Aston got its name from being the farming estate to the east of Haddenham. The owner of both places in 1086 was listed as Manno the Breton. By 1199 the estate had been annexed by the Norman rulers and was placed into the extensive estates belonging to the heirs of Odo, Bishop of Bayeux: the Sandfords. It was from this time that the village became known as Aston Sandford. The Church of England parish church of Saint Michael and All Angels is one of the smallest in England. The nave is probably 12th century and the chancel is probably 13th century. The chancel arch is also 13th century. The northeast window and blocked north doorway are probably 14th century and a buttress on the west wall is probably 15th century. However, the building was so extensively restored and reworked in 1878 that it is difficult to date any of its features with certainty.The parish's rector from 1803 to 1821 was the biblical commentator Revd. Thomas Scott, who trained the first missionaries of the Church Missionary Society here.

Dad Brook is a minor, 3.23 km (2.01 mi) long river in Buckinghamshire, England that is a tributary to the River Thame.Located completely within the Aylesbury Vale district, the river rises in the south of the village and civil parish Cuddington, near the county town of Aylesbury, and flows west for 3.23 km (2.01 mi) alongside Aylesbury Road before flowing into the River Thame in the village and parish of Chearsley.
