The Freeport Memorial Library is the main library serving the Incorporated Village of Freeport in Nassau County, on the South Shore of Long Island, in New York, United States. Its service area is known as the Freeport Library District. It is a member of the Nassau Library System.

Freeport is a village in the town of Hempstead, in Nassau County, on the South Shore of Long Island, in New York state. The population was 43,713 at the 2010 census, making it the second largest village in New York by population.A settlement since the 1640s, it was once an oystering community and later a resort popular with the New York City theater community. Founded in 1924, it is Long Island's oldest radio station.WGBB broadcasts the Chinese–language "Chinese Radio Network" and various English and Spanish language religious and ethnic brokered programming. The studio is located in Merrick, New York and its transmitter site is located in Freeport, former location of the studio.

The Brooklyn Waterworks, also known as the Milburn Pumping Station, was a historic building in Freeport, Long Island. Designed by noted Brooklyn architect Frank Freeman and completed in 1890, it was described as "Long Island's most ambitious Romanesque Revival design." After the Waterworks was decommissioned in the 1970s, it was purchased in 1989 by a property developer who planned to convert it into apartments. During the renovation however, the building was severely damaged by fire. Attempts to redevelop what remains of the structure have since met with failure due to legal disputes.

Freeport High School is a public high school located in Freeport, in Nassau County, New York, United States. Serving students in ninth through twelfth grade, it is the only high school operated by the Freeport Public Schools. As of the 2018–19 school year, the school had an enrollment of 2,177 students and 156.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 14.0:1. There were 1,130 students (51.9% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 79 (3.6% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

It is the eighth-largest high school in Nassau County.As of the year 2018–19, the school had an enrollment of 1,548 students and 121.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.8:1. The high school offers a multitude of extracurricular clubs, varsity sports, a robotics team, and a unique school-to-career program called the Academic Academies, allowing students to gain real work experience through coursework, internships, “Shadow Days” and competitions through various community and corporate partnerships. The high school's robust curriculum features an array of coursework unique to the district, such as a drone class, where students become FAA certified as a remote pilot. Baldwin High School also offers Advanced Placement and college-level courses that enable students to earn college credit, including a partnership with Nassau Community College (NCC), where students take classes directly on the campus. The graduation rate is currently 98%. The motto for Baldwin Union Free School District is, “We are innovative. We are inclusive. We are involved. We are Baldwin.” Dr. Neil Testa serves as principal of Baldwin High School.

Norman Levy Park and Preserve is a man-made park on the South Shore of Long Island in Merrick, New York. The park is situated on a hill formerly part of a landfill and has excellent views of the Manhattan skyline and Long Island.

Baldwin Harbor is a hamlet and former census-designated place (CDP) in the Town of Hempstead, in Nassau County, on Long Island, in New York, United States. It was created concomitant with the 1990 United States Census from the southernmost portions of the neighboring hamlet of Baldwin. As of the 2010 census, it had a population of 8,102.
