Roosevelt High School is a four-year public high school located in Roosevelt as part of the Roosevelt School District, serving students in grades 9 through 12. It is located in the hamlet of Roosevelt in the Town of Hempstead, in Nassau County, on Long Island, in New York, United States.As of the 2014–15 school year, the school had an enrollment of 964 students and 56.6 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 17.0:1. There were 247 students (25.6% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 46 (4.8% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Established in 1958, Calhoun is one of three high schools in the Bellmore–Merrick Central High School District, and acts as a magnet school for several programs. It is the eighth-largest high school in Nassau County.As of the year 2018–19, the school had an enrollment of 1,548 students and 121.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.8:1. There were 450 students (29.1% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 37 (2.4% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.Baldwin High School is nationally recognized as the "School of Excellence." and has been ranked by Newsweek in its annual list of America's Best High Schools on several occasions, including #837 in 2010, #804 in 2008, #971 in 2007, and #602 in 2006. Baldwin High School has been ranked by U.S. News & World Report among the top high schools in the nation in 2022, 2021, and 2020. This school was also designated a Recognition School for 2019-2020 and 2018-2019 by the New York State Education Department. The high school offers a multitude of extracurricular clubs, varsity sports, a robotics team, and a unique school-to-career program called the Academic Academies, allowing students to gain real work experience through coursework, internships, “Shadow Days” and competitions through various community and corporate partnerships. The high school's robust curriculum features an array of coursework unique to the district, such as a drone class, where students become FAA certified as a remote pilot. Baldwin High School also offers Advanced Placement and college-level courses that enable students to earn college credit, including a partnership with Nassau Community College (NCC), where students take classes directly on the campus. The graduation rate is currently 98%. The motto for Baldwin Union Free School District is, “We are innovative. We are inclusive. We are involved. We are Baldwin.” Dr. Neil Testa serves as principal of Baldwin High School.

Uniondale is a hamlet and census-designated place in Nassau County, New York, on Long Island, in the town of Hempstead. The population was 32,473 at the 2020 United States Census. Uniondale is home to Hofstra University's north campus, as well as a portion of its southern campus.The community unsuccessfully tried incorporating itself as a village in the 1970s.

WJDM (1530 AM Radio Cantico Nuevo) is a radio station licensed to Mineola, New York, broadcasting a Spanish language Christian radio format. The station is owned by Cantico Nuevo Ministry, Inc.WJDM broadcasts during daytime hours only, from local sunrise to sunset in order to protect WCKY in Cincinnati, Ohio, a clear-channel station on the same frequency that can be heard in the New York City area after dark. The station, which was previously WTHE on 1520 AM, went silent on January 25, 2018, after being evicted from their transmitter site. It resumed broadcasting on January 15, 2019, in order to keep the station's license from being cancelled and the call letters deleted by the FCC. In February 2019, Cantico Nuevo Ministry filed a $200,000 deal to purchase WTHE from Universal Broadcasting of New York. The purchase was consummated on November 14, 2019, at a price of $200,000. The call letters were changed to WJDM from WTHE on May 27, 2021. The WJDM call letters had previously belonged to another Cantico Nuevo station, also on 1530 AM in Elizabeth, New Jersey, which had its license cancelled in 2020.In June 2023 WJDM moved from 1520 AM to 1530 AM and increased its power from 1000 to 10000 watts thereby providing a stronger signal especially over New York City and portions of northern New Jersey.

WHLI (1100 AM) is a commercial radio station licensed to Hempstead, New York, and serving Long Island. It is owned by Connoisseur Media and has an oldies radio format made up of hits from the 1950s, 60s, 70s and 80s. The station's studios and offices are located at Airport Plaza in Farmingdale, New York, and its transmitter is located off the Southern State Parkway at Milburn Avenue in Hempstead. WHLI broadcasts on 1100 AM, a clear channel frequency reserved for Class A WTAM in Cleveland. Because radio waves travel farther at night, WHLI must sign–off the air at sunset to protect WTAM.

US Post Office-Freeport is a historic post office building located at Freeport in the town of Hempstead, Nassau County, New York, United States. It was built in 1932 and designed by consulting architects Tachau and Vought for the Office of the Supervising Architect. It is a two-story, symmetrically massed brick building trimmed in limestone in the Colonial Revival style. It features a three bay wide entrance pavilion with a gable roof. The lobby features two murals by William Gropper installed in 1938 and titled "Air Mail" and "Suburban Post in Winter."It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.
