Baldwin station

The Brooklyn Waterworks, also known as the Milburn Pumping Station, was a historic building in Freeport, Long Island. Designed by noted Brooklyn architect Frank Freeman and completed in 1890, it was described as "Long Island's most ambitious Romanesque Revival design." After the Waterworks was decommissioned in the 1970s, it was purchased in 1989 by a property developer who planned to convert it into apartments. During the renovation however, the building was severely damaged by fire. Attempts to redevelop what remains of the structure have since met with failure due to legal disputes.

Serving students in ninth through twelfth grade, it is the only high school operated by the Freeport Public Schools. Baldwin High School is a public high school located in Baldwin, Nassau County, New York. This school serves students in grades 9 to 12 in the Baldwin Union Free School District. It is the eighth-largest high school in Nassau County.As of the year 2018–19, the school had an enrollment of 1,548 students and 121.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 12.8:1. There were 450 students (29.1% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 37 (2.4% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.Baldwin High School is nationally recognized as the "School of Excellence." and has been ranked by Newsweek in its annual list of America's Best High Schools on several occasions, including #837 in 2010, #804 in 2008, #971 in 2007, and #602 in 2006. Baldwin High School has been ranked by U.S. News & World Report among the top high schools in the nation in 2022, 2021, and 2020. This school was also designated a Recognition School for 2019-2020 and 2018-2019 by the New York State Education Department. The high school offers a multitude of extracurricular clubs, varsity sports, a robotics team, and a unique school-to-career program called the Academic Academies, allowing students to gain real work experience through coursework, internships, “Shadow Days” and competitions through various community and corporate partnerships. The high school's robust curriculum features an array of coursework unique to the district, such as a drone class, where students become FAA certified as a remote pilot. Baldwin High School also offers Advanced Placement and college-level courses that enable students to earn college credit, including a partnership with Nassau Community College (NCC), where students take classes directly on the campus. The graduation rate is currently 98%. The motto for Baldwin Union Free School District is, “We are innovative. We are inclusive. We are involved. We are Baldwin.” Dr. Neil Testa serves as principal of Baldwin High School.

South Side High School is the only public high school in the village of Rockville Centre, New York. South Side, a part of the Rockville Centre School District, serves grades 9 through 12 and boasts a variety of academic, extra-curricular and athletic programs, including the International Baccalaureate (IB) Curriculum in junior and senior years. School district boundaries can be found in Rockville Centre and South Hempstead. In 2008 South Side was ranked No. 47 in the top 100 high schools in the nation by Newsweek's "The Top of the Class: The complete list of the top 1,300 top U.S. high schools". South Side has maintained this distinction, at No. 65 in 2003, No. 45 in 2005, No. 32 in 2006 and No. 44 in 2007. The primary address for South Side is 140 Shepherd Street, Rockville Centre, New York 11570. Located further south in Rockville Centre is the "Greenhouse". Established in 1975, the purpose of this off-site school is to provide a different approach to teaching students with academic or personal troubles as well as different scheduling and academic programs. The main building has two floors. As of the 2014–15 school year, the school had an enrollment of 1,092 students and 93.7 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 11.6:1. There were 109 students (10.0% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 28 (2.6% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

Freeport Public Schools (FPS) is a public school district on Long Island, serving the community of Freeport, New York.

Freeport is a village in the town of Hempstead, in Nassau County, on the South Shore of Long Island, in New York state. The population was 43,713 at the 2010 census, making it the second largest village in New York by population.A settlement since the 1640s, it was once an oystering community and later a resort popular with the New York City theater community. It is now primarily a bedroom suburb but retains a modest commercial waterfront and some light industry.

The Freeport Memorial Library is the main library serving the Incorporated Village of Freeport in Nassau County, on the South Shore of Long Island, in New York, United States. Its service area is known as the Freeport Library District. It is a member of the Nassau Library System.

US Post Office-Freeport is a historic post office building located at Freeport in the town of Hempstead, Nassau County, New York, United States. It was built in 1932 and designed by consulting architects Tachau and Vought for the Office of the Supervising Architect. It is a two-story, symmetrically massed brick building trimmed in limestone in the Colonial Revival style. It features a three bay wide entrance pavilion with a gable roof. The lobby features two murals by William Gropper installed in 1938 and titled "Air Mail" and "Suburban Post in Winter."It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Baldwin Harbor is a hamlet and former census-designated place (CDP) in the Town of Hempstead, in Nassau County, on Long Island, in New York, United States. It was created concomitant with the 1990 United States Census from the southernmost portions of the neighboring hamlet of Baldwin. As of the 2010 census, it had a population of 8,102.

Mount Sinai South Nassau is a hospital located in Oceanside, NY. The facility was opened in 1928 and has undergone rapid expansion since. It is the Long Island flagship hospital for the Mount Sinai Health System. Mount Sinai South Nassau, formerly South Nassau Communities Hospital, has a total of 455 beds. It has expanded numerous times over the years and is now one of the main hospitals on the South Shore of Long Island. In 2019 the hospital joined the Mount Sinai Health System and rebranded as Mount Sinai South Nassau.

The Freeport station is a station on the Babylon Branch of the Long Island Rail Road. It is located in Freeport Plaza between Henry Street and Benson Place, just north of NY 27 in Freeport, New York.
