US Post Office-Freeport is a historic post office building located at Freeport in the town of Hempstead, Nassau County, New York, United States. It was built in 1932 and designed by consulting architects Tachau and Vought for the Office of the Supervising Architect. It is a two-story, symmetrically massed brick building trimmed in limestone in the Colonial Revival style. It features a three bay wide entrance pavilion with a gable roof. The lobby features two murals by William Gropper installed in 1938 and titled "Air Mail" and "Suburban Post in Winter."It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1989.

Serving students in ninth through twelfth grade, it is the only high school operated by the Freeport Public Schools. As of the 2018–19 school year, the school had an enrollment of 2,177 students and 156.0 classroom teachers (on an FTE basis), for a student–teacher ratio of 14.0:1. There were 1,130 students (51.9% of enrollment) eligible for free lunch and 79 (3.6% of students) eligible for reduced-cost lunch.

The Brooklyn Waterworks, also known as the Milburn Pumping Station, was a historic building in Freeport, Long Island. Designed by noted Brooklyn architect Frank Freeman and completed in 1890, it was described as "Long Island's most ambitious Romanesque Revival design." After the Waterworks was decommissioned in the 1970s, it was purchased in 1989 by a property developer who planned to convert it into apartments. During the renovation however, the building was severely damaged by fire. Attempts to redevelop what remains of the structure have since met with failure due to legal disputes.

It was created concomitant with the 1990 United States Census from the southernmost portions of the neighboring hamlet of Baldwin. As of the 2010 census, it had a population of 8,102.
