Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, University of Mostar (Croatian: Filozofski fakultet Sveučilišta u Mostaru) is a public institution belonging to the University of Mostar, located in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Cathedral of Mary, Mother of the Church (Croatian: Katedrala Marije Majke Crkve) also Mostar Cathedral in Mostar is one of four Roman Catholic cathedrals in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is the seat of the Mostar-Duvno Bishopric currently led by Bishop Petar Palić. The construction of the new cathedral in a modern style began in 1974 with the excavations for the foundations. The project was completed in the summer of 1980, partly due to delays, changes in the original plan and architectural defects found in the presbytery area. The interior is decorated with stained glass and mosaics. During the Bosnian War the church was greatly damaged. Later it was rebuilt in its entirety.

The Diocese of Mostar-Duvno (Latin: Dioecesis Mandentriensis-Dulminiensis) is a Latin Church diocese of the Catholic Church in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It encompasses northern Herzegovina. The episcopal seat is in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was formed on 5 July 1881, when the Apostolic Vicariate of Herzegovina was elevated to the diocese. It is the largest Catholic diocese in Bosnia and Herzegovina by the number of Catholics. The Diocese of Mostar-Duvno also retains the episcopal tradition from the Diocese of Duvno, an antique diocese first mentioned in 591, suppressed in the 7th century and reestablished in the 14th century. The seat of the diocese is the Cathedral of Mary, Mother of the Church. The diocese releases a monthly magazine Crkva na kamenu. The diocese covers area of 8,368 square kilometres (3,231 sq mi), with 175,395 Catholics in 66 parishes of the diocese. There are 67 diocesan priests. The Franciscan Province of Herzegovina is serving 29 parishes. The current bishop of Mostar-Duvno is Petar Palić. He also serves as Apostolic Administrator of Trebinje-Mrkan, which is administered by the bishops of Mostar-Duvno since 1890.

Stadion pod Bijelim Brijegom (English: Bijeli Brijeg Stadium), also known as HŠK Zrinjski Stadium, is a City of Mostar owned association football stadium, located in the city of Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The venue is currently home of HŠK Zrinjski Mostar. Today it has a capacity of 9,000 seats. Currently, its stadium is being renovated, where instead of standing, there will be a modern new tribune for a minimum of 5000 seats

Croatian Lodge "Herceg Stjepan Kosača" (Croatian: Hrvatski dom Herceg Stjepan Kosača) is a city-sponsored public institution in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, which promotes, assists and organizes educational and art events. It was named after Stjepan Vukčić Kosača, a 14th-century nobleman from Herzegovina. Its premises are used for art exhibitions, concerts, theatre performances, lectures, movie screenings, puppet shows, dance classes, lectures, and conventions.

The University of Mostar (Croatian: Sveučilište u Mostaru; Latin: Universitas Studiorum Mostariensis) is the largest public university located in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Previously it was called the University Džemal Bijedić of Mostar, named after a socialist politician Džemal Bijedić. The university has ten faculties and one Academy of Fine Arts, with 50 majors, 46 specialisations and 70 study groups. This makes the University of Mostar one of the most diverse universities in the country.

A statue of Bruce Lee was unveiled on 26 November 2005, in the city of Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, by sculptor Ivan Fijolić. Located in Zrinjevac City Park, the life-sized statue stands 1.68 m (5 ft 6 in) tall, shorter than Bruce Lee's actual height of 1.72 m (5 ft 8 in), and is a symbol of solidarity in the ethnically-divided city.

University Clinical Hospital Mostar (Croatian: Sveučilišna klinička bolnica Mostar) is the largest hospital in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is situated in the Bijeli Brijeg neighbourhood of the city, although Clinic for infectious diseases, Clinic for skin and sexually transmitted diseases and Psychiatry clinic are located in the town center in the former Surgery department building. The hospital was originally built as a regional medical centre in 1977. However, the building incurred damage during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina and upon its repairs, it was upgraded into a hospital in 1997.Since 1997 the hospital has cooperated with the University of Mostar's Medical Faculty in training medical professionals.

A car bomb exploded in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina on 18 September 1997, injuring 29 people and destroying or damaging 120 apartments, as well as 120 vehicles. The attack is thought to have targeted Croat civilians and policemen as retribution against the Croatian Defence Council (HVO), which had fought Bosnian Muslim forces for control of the city during the Croat–Bosniak War. The attack was carried out by radical Islamists.The attack was organized by Ahmad Zuhair Handala, with his associates, Ali Ahmed Ali Hamad from Bahrain, Nebil Ali Hil, nicknamed Abu Yemen, Saleh Nedal and Vlado Popovski from North Macedonia. At least two of the arrested had links to Al-Qaeda. The attackers did not mention whether the bombing was religiously motivated or whether it was retribution against the Croatian Defense Council.

Radio Mostarska panorama is a Herzegovina local public radio station, broadcasting from Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. From 2013 until 2018, Mostarska panorama was served as special daily output for Mostar operated by Radio Herceg-Bosne (from 07:00–10:00 hour) on their ceded frequency 107.5 MHz. Since 14 August 2018, Mostarska panorama is separated radiostation (launched as part of a public institution Croatian Lodge "Herceg Stjepan Kosača" Mostar) which broadcasts on its own frequency (88.1 MHz). Mostarska panorama broadcasts a variety of programs such as local news from Mostar area, talk shows, music and sport. Program is mainly produced in Croatian. Estimated number of potential listeners is around 95,173. The radio station is also available in municipalities of West Herzegovina.

The siege of Mostar was fought during the Bosnian War first in 1992 and then again later in 1993 to 1994. Initially lasting between April 1992 and June 1992, it involved the Croatian Defence Council (HVO) and the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ARBiH) fighting against the Serb-dominated Yugoslav People's Army (JNA) after Bosnia and Herzegovina declared its independence from Yugoslavia. That phase ended in June 1992 after the success of Operation Jackal, launched by the Croatian Army (HV) and HVO. As a result of the first siege around 90,000 residents of Mostar fled and numerous religious buildings, cultural institutions, and bridges were damaged or destroyed. As the wider conflict matured and the political landscape changed, the Bosnian Croats and Bosniaks began to fight against each other, culminating in the Croat–Bosniak War. Between June 1993 and April 1994 the HVO besieged Bosniak-concentrated East Mostar, resulting in the deaths of numerous civilians, a cut off of humanitarian aid, damage or destruction of ten mosques, and the blowing up of the historic Stari Most bridge. Hostilities ended with the signing of the Washington Agreement in March 1994 and the establishment of the Croat–Bosniak federation.
