Mostar cathedral

The Diocese of Mostar-Duvno (Latin: Dioecesis Mandentriensis-Dulminiensis) is a Latin Church diocese of the Catholic Church in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It encompasses northern Herzegovina. The episcopal seat is in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was formed on 5 July 1881, when the Apostolic Vicariate of Herzegovina was elevated to the diocese. It is the largest Catholic diocese in Bosnia and Herzegovina by the number of Catholics. The Diocese of Mostar-Duvno also retains the episcopal tradition from the Diocese of Duvno, an antique diocese first mentioned in 591, suppressed in the 7th century and reestablished in the 14th century. The seat of the diocese is the Cathedral of Mary, Mother of the Church. The diocese releases a monthly magazine Crkva na kamenu. The diocese covers area of 8,368 square kilometres (3,231 sq mi), with 175,395 Catholics in 66 parishes of the diocese. There are 67 diocesan priests. The Franciscan Province of Herzegovina is serving 29 parishes. The current bishop of Mostar-Duvno is Petar Palić. He also serves as Apostolic Administrator of Trebinje-Mrkan, which is administered by the bishops of Mostar-Duvno since 1890.

The Partisan Memorial Cemetery in Mostar is located in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was built in 1965 in honor of the Yugoslav Partisans of Mostar who were killed during World War II in Yugoslavia. It's located on Bijeli Brijeg and displays all the features of a complex architectural, aesthetic and landscape design. It is a unique monument in the urban scale of the city of Mostar, and is of particular ambient value.

Croatian Lodge "Herceg Stjepan Kosača" (Croatian: Hrvatski dom Herceg Stjepan Kosača) is a city-sponsored public institution in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina, which promotes, assists and organizes educational and art events. It was named after Stjepan Vukčić Kosača, a 14th-century nobleman from Herzegovina. Its premises are used for art exhibitions, concerts, theatre performances, lectures, movie screenings, puppet shows, dance classes, lectures, and conventions.

The University of Mostar (Croatian: Sveučilište u Mostaru; Latin: Universitas Studiorum Mostariensis) is the largest public university located in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Previously it was called the University Džemal Bijedić of Mostar, named after a socialist politician Džemal Bijedić. The university has ten faculties and one Academy of Fine Arts, with 50 majors, 46 specialisations and 70 study groups. This makes the University of Mostar one of the most diverse universities in the country.

Radio Mostarska panorama is a Herzegovina local public radio station, broadcasting from Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. From 2013 until 2018, Mostarska panorama was served as special daily output for Mostar operated by Radio Herceg-Bosne (from 07:00–10:00 hour) on their ceded frequency 107.5 MHz. Since 14 August 2018, Mostarska panorama is separated radiostation (launched as part of a public institution Croatian Lodge "Herceg Stjepan Kosača" Mostar) which broadcasts on its own frequency (88.1 MHz). Mostarska panorama broadcasts a variety of programs such as local news from Mostar area, talk shows, music and sport. Program is mainly produced in Croatian. Estimated number of potential listeners is around 95,173. The radio station is also available in municipalities of West Herzegovina.

The siege of Mostar was fought during the Bosnian War first in 1992 and then again later in 1993 to 1994. Initially lasting between April 1992 and June 1992, it involved the Croatian Defence Council (HVO) and the Army of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina (ARBiH) fighting against the Serb-dominated Yugoslav People's Army (JNA) after Bosnia and Herzegovina declared its independence from Yugoslavia. That phase ended in June 1992 after the success of Operation Jackal, launched by the Croatian Army (HV) and HVO. As a result of the first siege around 90,000 residents of Mostar fled and numerous religious buildings, cultural institutions, and bridges were damaged or destroyed. As the wider conflict matured and the political landscape changed, the Bosnian Croats and Bosniaks began to fight against each other, culminating in the Croat–Bosniak War. Between June 1993 and April 1994 the HVO besieged Bosniak-concentrated East Mostar, resulting in the deaths of numerous civilians, a cut off of humanitarian aid, damage or destruction of ten mosques, and the blowing up of the historic Stari Most bridge. Hostilities ended with the signing of the Washington Agreement in March 1994 and the establishment of the Croat–Bosniak federation.

Radio gradska mreža - Mostarski radio is a Bosnian local public radio station, broadcasting from Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was launched as RGM - Mostarski radio on 1 December 2016 by Javna ustanova Centar za kulturu Mostar. This radio station broadcasts a variety of programs such as local news from Mostar area, talk shows, music and sport. Until 2016, radiostation was called Omladinski Radio X.Program is mainly produced in Bosnian language. Estimated number of potential listeners of Mostarski radio is around 84,511. The radio station is also available in municipalities of Herzegovina and in East Herzegovina.

Radio Herceg-Bosne is a public radio station, broadcasting from city of Mostar. Radio Herceg-Bosne began broadcasting on 1 May 1993 and it was formatted as Variety radio station with music, news and talk shows in Croatian.

Običan Radio is a Hercegovina commercial radio station, broadcasting from Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. Običan Radio was launched on 25 March 2002.

Radio Dobre Vibracije (Croatian for "good vibes") is a Herzegovinian commercial radio station, broadcasting from Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina.Radio Dobre Vibracije was launched on 16 December 1996.

The Eyalet of Herzegovina (Ottoman Turkish: ایالت هرسك; Eyālet-i Hersek, Serbo-Croatian: Hercegovački pašaluk) was an administrative division (eyalet) of the Ottoman Empire from 1833 to 1851. Its last capital was Mostar.
