Trenton Corners is an unincorporated community in Persifer Township, Knox County, Illinois. Trenton Corners is just west of the Spoon River at the intersection of U.S. Highway 150 and Knox County Highway 15. There was formerly an early settlers' town called Trenton. In 1888, the Santa Fe Railway located north of the town. The businesses and the population of the town moved closer to the railroad into the new town of Dahinda and Trenton ceased to be a place of importance. Several small businesses were still located in Trenton Corners until recently but none remain today. The Persifer Township hall and maintenance facility and the Trenton Cemetery are located near Trenton Corners.

Dahinda is an unincorporated community in Knox County, Illinois, United States. It is part of the Galesburg Micropolitan Statistical Area. Dahinda is in Persifer Township and lies approximately one mile north of U.S. Highway 150 and Interstate 74. Knox County Highway 15 runs from north to south through Dahinda. Once a bustling town, as time has gone on, the businesses in this community moved on, but the community still continues to exist.

Gilson is an unincorporated census-designated place in Knox County, Illinois, and is located southeast of Galesburg. As of the 2010 Census, its population was 190. It is part of the Galesburg Micropolitan Statistical Area. Gilson is located just east of Illinois Route 97 along Knox County Highway 12. The BNSF Railway runs through the town.

The Walnut Grove Farm is a farm complex and historic district located on Knox Station Road 1 mile (1.6 km) north of Knoxville, Illinois. George A. Charles, the son of one of Knoxville's founders, established the farm in 1835. Charles, his sons A.G. and A.P., and A.G.'s son George were all both successful farmers and prominent citizens of Knoxville. The farm focused on breeding cattle and growing corn, with an emphasis on the former; at its peak, the farm covered over 1,900 acres (770 ha), 360 acres (150 ha) of which are included in the historic district. The present farm complex includes a main house, a tenant farmer's house, a bank barn that was once among the largest in the state, three additional barns, a hog farrowing building, and a collection of outbuildings.The farm was added to the National Register of Historic Places on August 24, 1989.

Knoxville High School (KHS) is a public four-year high school in Knoxville, Illinois, United States. KHS is part of Knoxville Community Unit School District 202, which also includes Knoxville Junior High School, and Mable Woolsey Elementary School. The campus is located in 6 miles southeast of Galesburg, Illinois, and serves a mixed small city and rural residential community. The school is in the Galesburg micropolitan statistical area which includes all of Knox and Warren counties.

The Knox County Courthouse, located on the public square of Knoxville near its associated hall of records, is the former county courthouse of Knox County, Illinois. The courthouse was built in 1840 to replace the county's first courthouse; built in 1831 shortly after the county's organization, it had been outgrown by the end of the decade. Architect John Mandeville gave the building its Greek Revival design. The Hall of Records, which was designed by Charles Ulricson, was added in 1854 to house county records after the courthouse ran out of space for them. The Knox County seat moved to Galesburg in 1873; the courthouse and hall of records subsequently housed the Knoxville city hall and public library respectively until 1978, when the city government moved to the hall and the courthouse became a museum.The buildings were added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 13, 1992.

The Knox County Jail, located on the public square in Knoxville, is a former county jail used by Knox County, Illinois. Built in 1845, the jail was the second used in the county; it replaced a log jail which was thought to be insufficiently secure. Contractor Alvah Wheeler built the two-story brick building for $7,724. The county's only official hanging was conducted at the jail in 1873, when John M. Osborne was executed for the murder of Adelia Matthews; several hundred people came to watch his execution. Later in the same year, the county seat and the jail were both moved to Galesburg; the Knoxville jail is now part of the Knox County Museum.The jail was added to the National Register of Historic Places on February 13, 1992.
