Elm Street Methodist Church (Nashville)

Rocketown is a 40,000-square-foot (3,700 m2) facility with entertainment space, a coffee bar, and indoor skate park, located in Nashville, Tennessee. First opening in Franklin, TN in 1994-95 by Christian artist Michael W. Smith, Rocketown was created as a safe, drug and alcohol free place for teenagers to hang out. After closing its building for a brief period, it re-opened in 2003 in downtown Nashville. Rocketown features after-school classes, skateboarding, video games, and concerts. The concerts are open to patrons of all ages. Its focus is to be a safe all-ages venue that also provides after-school activities such as recording, film editing, art, dance, and much more. The progressive metal group, Between the Buried and Me, filmed their live CD and DVD, Colors, at Rocketown, on August 2, 2008. The Christian metal band Demon Hunter also filmed a live show at Rocketown for their live DVD and CD. Rocketown moved a few blocks to a new location in mid-2010. The city began construction for the new Music City Center and expanded Korean Veterans Boulevard, so the venue relocated. The last show at the old location (401 6th Ave S), Travisfest, was held on Saturday April 24. The first show in the new building, Clash of the Genres, was on April 30. The now current main building was open on August 6, 2010 as a part of the Back to School Bash and Grand Opening weekend.

Primitive Baptist Church (The College Street Primitive Baptist Church) is a historic Primitive Baptist church at 627-629 3rd Ave., S. in Nashville, Tennessee. It was built in 1850 and added to the National Register in 1984. The building is the current home of The Anchor Fellowship, an interdenominational Christian community. It also serves as a music and events venue.

Holy Trinity Church (also known as Church of the Holy Trinity) is a historic Episcopal church at 615 6th Avenue South in Nashville, Tennessee, currently a parish of the Episcopal Diocese of Tennessee. The congregation was formed in 1849 as a mission of the nearby Christ Church Episcopal, attained parish status in 1851, and grew to around fifty members per service by the beginning of the American Civil War. During the war, the church was occupied by Federal troops and was badly damaged. After repairs, services continued and a new mission was opened on Wharf Avenue, which catered to the African American population of Nashville and soon overtook Holy Trinity in membership. After Holy Trinity lost parish status in 1895, the two missions merged and continued to serve the African American community of Nashville. Its congregation was largely made up of faculty and students from nearby Fisk University and other educational institutions. The mission reattained parish status in 1962, and the current rector is Bill Dennler. Construction of the congregation's Gothic Revival style building began in 1852 and continued incrementally for more than three decades until the building was finally completed and consecrated in 1888. The building features a square central tower housing the narthex, adjoined to which is a tall bell tower. Pointed arch stained glass windows are featured throughout, and a steeply gabled roof is adorned with matching stone crosses. The interior of the church features a hammerbeam roof and an elaborate carved altar. Holy Trinity was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.

The James Geddes Engine Company No. 6, at 629 2nd Ave., S., in Nashville, Tennessee, was built in 1884–85. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1978.It is a two-story red brick building with terra cotta, stone, and metal details.It is named for James Geddes, a Scottish-born civil engineer who long worked for the Louisville and Nashville Railroad and was a "prominent Nashvillian".

The Nashville Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce is a chamber of commerce in Nashville, Tennessee, United States.In 2008, it opposed a local English-only measure.Established in January 2000 as a 501 (c)6 non-profit corporation in Tennessee, the Nashville Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, is the oldest, longest running Hispanic business membership organization, actively promoting the economic growth and development of Hispanic entrepreneurs representing the interests of small business members in the Nashville and surrounding areas. The NAHCC connects, entrepreneurs and micro-enterprises, facilitating strategic alliances, networking and sharing of business and financial best practices. On March 29, 2016, led by its President & CEO, Yuri Cunza, the NAHCC signed and inter-chamber cooperative agreement with the Nashville Black Chamber of Commerce. A similar agreement was signed by the NAHCC in October with the Nashville LGBT Chamber of Commerce, and on March 22, 2017, with Williamson Inc chamber of commerce. In February 2017, the Nashville Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce was one of two Hispanic chambers from around the country to obtain the prestigious Chamber Training Institute (CTI) NAtional Certification designation presented by the University of Notre Dame through the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce Foundation, in collaboration with the US Black Chambers, Inc., the US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce, and the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce. On October 2, 2017, NAHCC President & CEO Yuri Cunza received on behalf of the Nashville Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce the prestigious Chamber of The Year Award by the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC) at their National Convention in Dallas, Texas. The USHCC recognizes the Chamber of the Year from among more than 200 Hispanic Chambers of Commerce throughout the nation. Award recipients are selected by an independent panel of judges and are chosen based on their contributions to their commercial ecosystems, outstanding accomplishments, quality of service, innovation of programs, leadership and commitment to the Hispanic business community. On March 1, 2018, the NAHCC joined the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce in urging Congress to take immediate action to protect the DACA program. "On behalf of approximately 2,000 Hispanic-owned business in Tennessee, we strongly urge Congress to take immediate action to provide a permanent resolution for DACA recipients," said Yuri Cunza, President & CEO of the Nashville Area Hispanic Chamber of Commerce. "The lack of certainty has caused confusion and fear among DACA-eligible young adults. Congressional inaction will result in the loss of a highly educated and skilled workforce in our community."

WNVL (1240 AM) is a radio station broadcasting a Regional Mexican music format. Licensed to Nashville, Tennessee, United States, the station is currently owned by Mark Janbakhsh, through licensee TBLC Media, LLC.The station signed on in 1947 as WKDA, Nashville's fourth radio station, with stints as Nashville's leading Top 40 station and playing country music. It dropped the call sign in 1998 and has since programmed gospel music and Spanish-language programming.

The Millie E. Hale Hospital was a hospital in Nashville, Tennessee that served African-American patients. It was the first hospital to serve black patients year-round. The hospital was opened by a husband and wife team, Dr. John Henry Hale and Millie E. Hale in July 1916. The couple first turned their home into a hospital that would grow to house 75 patients by 1923. In addition to the hospital, there was a community center and ladies' auxiliary that provided health services and also recreational and charity work to the black community. The hospital also provided parks for children who had no park to use in the Jim Crow era. In 1938, the hospital closed, but some social services continued afterwards.

Lindsley Avenue Church of Christ is a historic church at 3 Lindsley Avenue in Nashville, Tennessee. It was built in 1894 and added to the National Register in 1984. It is across the road from the Nashville Children's Theatre.The Church was founded by David Lipscomb. Dr. Ira North was formerly a minister and eventually moved to the Madison Church of Christ. Laws Rushing II was minister for nearly a decade. Gene Wright is the current minister of the Church. The congregation celebrates a homecoming service on the second Sunday of October every year.

Walden University was a historically black college in Nashville, Tennessee. It was founded in 1865 by missionaries from the Northern United States on behalf of the Methodist Church to serve freedmen. Known as Central Tennessee College from 1865 to 1900, Walden University provided education and professional training to African Americans until 1925. Meharry Medical College, established as one of Walden's departments in 1876, was the first medical school in the South for African Americans. In 1915, it was chartered separately and became a separate institution. It is one of the constellation of colleges in Nashville. After regrouping as a junior college in 1922 and offering a two-year associate degree, Walden College closed in 1925 due to financial difficulties and competition with state-run colleges. Since 1935, its second campus (acquired in 1922) has served Trevecca Nazarene University.

University of Nashville was a private university in Nashville, Tennessee. It was established in 1806 as Cumberland College. It existed as a distinct entity until 1909; operating at various times a medical school, a four-year military college, a literary arts (liberal arts) college, and a boys preparatory school. Educational institutions in operation today that can trace their roots to the University of Nashville include Montgomery Bell Academy, an all-male preparatory school; the Vanderbilt University Medical School; Peabody College at Vanderbilt University; and the University School of Nashville, a co-educational preparatory school.

Lindsley Hall is a historic building in Nashville, Tennessee. Built in the antebellum South as the main building of the University of Nashville, it served as a Union hospital during the Civil War. It became the Nashville Children's Museum in 1945. In 1974 the museum moved to a new facility at 800 Fort Negley Boulevard, became the Cumberland Science Museum and is now known as the Adventure Science Center. The building is once again called Lindsley Hall and is used by the City of Nashville for Metro Government offices.

The Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum in Nashville, Tennessee, is one of the world's largest museums and research centers dedicated to the preservation and interpretation of American vernacular music. Chartered in 1964, the museum has amassed one of the world's most extensive musical collections.
