Bonby Priory

Bonby is a village and civil parish in North Lincolnshire, England, and approximately 4 miles (6 km) south from Barton-upon-Humber. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 481, increasing to 532 at the 2011 census.The village was recorded in the Domesday Book under the name of "Bundebi".The Grade II listed Anglican parish church is dedicated to St Andrew. The church has an Early English nave and chancel, and a 17th-century brick tower. Bonby held a small priory, established by the Benedictine priory of St Fromund in Normandy. The priory was transferred to the Carthusian order at Beauvale, Nottinghamshire.

Saxby All Saints is a village and civil parish in North Lincolnshire, England. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 census was 385. It is 6 miles (9.7 km) north of Brigg and 4 miles (6.4 km) south-west of Barton upon Humber. Saxby All Saints is a conservation area, and one of the five Low Villages – Worlaby, Bonby, Saxby All Saints, Horkstow and South Ferriby, between Brigg and the Humber estuary – so-called because of their position below the northern edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.

Glanford was, from 1974 to 1996, a local government district with borough status in the non-metropolitan county of Humberside, England.

South Humberside is a former postal county of England. It was introduced by the Royal Mail on 1 July 1974, when some addresses were altered in response to the changes in administration brought about under the Local Government Act 1972. The postal county corresponded approximately to the part of the new non-metropolitan county of Humberside south of the Humber Estuary (excluding Goole, which was placed in North Humberside). All of the post towns included in South Humberside had formerly been part of the Lincolnshire postal county. A changeover period of one year was allowed by the postal authorities, with the new county compulsory from 1 July 1975. Glanford Brigg was a rural district in Lincolnshire, Parts of Lindsey from 1894 to 1974. It was formed under the Local Government Act 1894 from the Glanford Brigg rural sanitary district. It entirely surrounded the borough of Scunthorpe. It was enlarged slightly as several urban districts were abolished and incorporated into it. It absorbed Broughton in 1923 and then Roxby cum Risby and Winterton in 1936 (under a County Review Order.) In 1974 the district was abolished, being combined with Brigg Urban District and Barton upon Humber Urban District to form a new Glanford district.

Horkstow is a village and civil parish in North Lincolnshire, England, 4 miles (6.4 km) south-west from Barton-upon-Humber, 1 mile (1.6 km) south from South Ferriby and 9 miles (14.5 km) north from Brigg. It lies on the B1204, and 1 mile (1.6 km) east from the navigable River Ancholme. It is one of the five "Low Villages" – Worlaby, Bonby, Saxby All Saints, Horkstow and South Ferriby – between Brigg and the Humber estuary, so-called because of their position below the northern edge of the Lincolnshire Wolds. Horkstow was previously part of Glanford administrative district, and before that, the North Lindsey division of Lindsey, Lincolnshire.

Horkstow Roman villa is a Roman villa and scheduled monument in Horkstow, North Lincolnshire. It was discovered in 1797 when labourers found a large floor mosaic. A geophysical survey of the site in 1987 identified structural features between the site of the mosaic and the nearby Horkstow Hall, though the full layout of the villa has not yet been discovered.

Horkstow Bridge is a suspension bridge that spans the New River Ancholme near the village of Horkstow in North Lincolnshire. It was designed by Sir John Rennie as part of the River Ancholme Drainage Scheme, completed in 1836, and is a Grade II* listed building.

Ferriby Sluice is a hamlet situated near the lock complex on the Humber and River Ancholme, Lincolnshire, England. It is now part of the village of South Ferriby but once stood alone in its own right. It is situated west of South Ferriby, physically separated from the bulk of the village, and once was the point of departure for the packet boats that used to ply the Humber.
