Ter Leyen Castle is a castle in Boekhoute Belgium.

Assenede (Dutch pronunciation: [ˈɑsəneːdə] ) is a municipality located in the Belgian province of East Flanders. The municipality comprises the towns of Assenede proper, Bassevelde, Boekhoute and Oosteeklo. On 1 January 2021, Assenede had a total population of 14,369. The total area is 87.22 km².

Philippine is a small city in the province of Zeeland, the Netherlands. It lies about 23 kilometres (14 mi) southeast of Vlissingen. It is located on the border with Belgium, 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) southwest of the city of Terneuzen. It received city rights in 1506.

Oosteeklo (formerly Oost-Eekloo) is a historic village in the Flemish province of East Flanders, Belgium, which since 1977 has been a subdivision of the municipality of Assenede. The village is situated 9 km east of Eeklo and 17 km north of Ghent, about 9 km from the border with the Netherlands, and lies approximately 9 metres above sea-level. A craft brewery, Den Tseut, is established in the village.

Hoek (Dutch pronunciation: [ɦuk]) is a village in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is a part of the municipality of Terneuzen, and lies about 22 km south-east of Vlissingen.

The Leopold Canal (Dutch: Leopoldkanaal or Leopoldvaart, French: Canal Léopold) is a canal in northern Belgium. Construction occurred between 1847 and 1850 after the Belgian government granted permission in 1846. It runs about 40 km (25 mi) westward from Boekhoute to Heist-aan-Zee just south of the Dutch border. It is between 1.2 and 2.3 m (3 ft 11 in and 7 ft 7 in) deep. The canal was proposed by Canon Joseph Andries, local member of the Belgian National Congress, to prevent the Dutch from blocking the discharge of water and inundating the Meetjesland after Belgium's independence from the Netherlands. This canal was a major line of German resistance during the Battle of the Scheldt in World War II.

Oosteeklo Abbey was a Cistercian nunnery founded in Oosteeklo in 1217 and later moved to Ghent.

The Sugar Factory Sas van Gent was a beet sugar factory in Sas van Gent, Zeeland, the Netherlands. It was located in the Poelpolder south of the town. It should not be confused with the Eerste Nederlandsche Coöperatieve Beetwortelsuikerfabriek located just north of the town. The factory was part of multiple companies and therefore known by multiple names. At first it was part of the short lived independent company called: De Zeeuwsche Suikerfabriek. The Sucrerie Zélandaise that followed it was also not successful. The Beetwortelsuikerfabriek Sas van Gent, founded by sugar industrials from North Brabant fared better. In the 1920s, CSM took control of this company, and eventually the factory became an integral part of CSM. Due to overproduction, the factory was closed down in 1987. The sugar factory had a profound impact on transport in Zeelandic Flanders. It gave a lot of work to the small agricultural harbors and played a role in the foundation of the narrow-gauge railway Zeeuwsch-Vlaamsche Tramweg Maatschappij.

Ertvelde is a village of the Belgian municipality of Evergem. Eddy Wally used to have his legendary show venue in the village-centre, called "Paris, Las Vegas". The Brouwerij Van Steenberge is located in Ertvelde. The brewery produces Gulden Draak, a strong tripel ale. You can also find historical things, like the 'Mottekasteel' and a collection of materials used in WWI at the (old) local government. The church is rebuilt after it was broken down by the Germans in WWII.' They renovated a large part of the 'Motte castle Hoge Wal', now you can have a view over the 'Hoge Wal'. The 'Hoge Wal' is a big parc with a Finnish path.

Sas van Gent is a town in the Netherlands. It is located in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is a part of the municipality of Terneuzen and lies about 30 km south of Vlissingen on the border with Belgium. The Ghent–Terneuzen Canal passes through Sas van Gent, and at that point there was a lock in the canal. The name of the village, Sas van Gent, means sluice of Ghent.

Zandstraat is a small village in the Dutch province of Zeeland. It is a part of the municipality of Terneuzen, and lies about 27 km southeast of Vlissingen. Zandstraat is not a statistical entity, and the postal authorities have placed it under Sas van Gent. Zandstraat developed after 1848 when the land was poldered. It consists of about 150 houses. The Catholic Pastor van Erk Church was built in 1949 and decommissioned in 2013.

Watervliet is a village in the Belgian province of East Flanders and suburb of the town of Sint-Laureins. Watervliet is part of the Meetjesland, and is adjacent to the Dutch border. It was a separate municipality until 1977.
