Montague is a township in eastern Ontario, Canada, in Lanark County on the Rideau River. The township administrative offices are located on Roger Stevens Drive east of Smiths Falls.

Elmcroft is a 19th-century house in Smiths Falls, Ontario, Canada, built in 1895 by the town's mayor, Francis Theodore Frost, who also served as director of the local Frost & Wood foundry, as a Member of Parliament and as a senator. It is an example of Queen Anne Revival architecture.

Smiths Falls is a town in Eastern Ontario, Canada, 72 kilometres (45 mi) southwest of Ottawa. As of the 2021 census it has a population of 9,254. It is in the Census division for Lanark County, but is separated from the county. The Rideau Canal waterway passes through the town, with four separate locks in three locations and a combined lift of over 15 metres (49.2 ft). The town's name was previously spelled Smith's Falls, and the spelling Smith Falls has been used, but "Smiths Falls" is now the official correct form.

The Railway Museum of Eastern Ontario, a rail museum in a former CNoR station, stands on the abandoned right-of-way of a Canadian Northern Railway line which once led southwest toward Napanee. Established 1985 as the Smiths Falls Railway Museum, the RMEO works to preserve the 1913 Canadian Northern (CNoR) station and a collection of historic rolling stock, equipment and railway memorabilia.

Dwyer Hill is a farming community in Rideau-Goulbourn Ward, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada.Located approximately 50 km southwest of downtown Ottawa and 30 km northeast of Smiths Falls, the community is centred on the intersection of Dwyer Hill Road (Route #3) and Franktown Road (Route #10). Anderson Farm is on the corner of Franktown Rd. and Dwyer Hill Rd and been there since 1837. It is now owned and operated by Robert and Brenda Anderson. Kings Creek joins the Jock River just east of the community. It is the headquarters for Joint Task Force 2.Dwyer Hill is also a railway point marked by a signpost on the VIA Rail line between Ottawa station and Smiths Falls station.

The Tay River watershed, covering a drainage area in excess of 800 square kilometers, is the westmost of the 6 recognized subwatersheds managed by the Rideau Valley Conservation Authority.

Lombardy, Ontario, is a community in the Township of Rideau Lakes, Leeds and Grenville County in Eastern Ontario. Its nearest communities are the town of Smiths Falls to the northeast, Rideau Ferry and Perth to the west, and Portland, Ontario to the southwest. The village of Lombardy is home to approximately 100 residents, with many more inhabiting the rural areas surrounding it. The only store in Lombardy is a vape shop, which was previously a restaurant.

Marlborough Township is a former incorporated and now geographic township in eastern Ontario, Canada. Marlborough was located in the southern part of Carleton County. It was bounded to the south by Oxford Township, to the southwest by Montague Township, to the northwest by Goulbourn Township and to the northeast by North Gower Township. The Rideau River runs along the border with Oxford Township. It was established in 1791. In 1800, it became part of Carleton County and was incorporated as a township in 1850. The first family to settle in this area was that of Stephen Burritt, a United Empire Loyalist, in 1793. The township merged with North Gower Township in 1974 to become Rideau Township. Rideau, in turn, became part of the amalgamated city of Ottawa in 2001. Marlborough Township took its name from John Churchill, 1st Duke of Marlborough. According to the Canada 2016 Census, the Township had a population of 2,204. According to the Canada 2021 Census, this had increased to 2,368.
