St. Elizabeth of Hungary Roman Catholic Church is a historic church at 1024-1028 E. Burnett Street in Louisville, Kentucky. It was completed in 1915 and added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1982.It was designed by architect Fred T. Erhart (1870-1951).

Schnitzelburg is a neighborhood three miles southeast of downtown Louisville, Kentucky. Schnitzelburg's boundaries are Clarks Lane to the south, Shelby Street to the west, CSX railroad tracks to the north, and Goss Avenue to the east.

Louisville is a city in Jefferson County, in the U.S. state of Kentucky. It is located at the Falls of the Ohio River. Louisville is located at 38°13′31″N 85°44′30″W. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Louisville Metro (in 2015 measurements for Jefferson County) has a total area of 397.68 square miles (1,030.0 km2), of which 380.46 square miles (985.4 km2) is land and 17.23 square miles (44.6 km2) (4.33%) is covered by water.

Meriwether is a neighborhood two miles southeast of downtown Louisville, Kentucky, USA, and just east of the University of Louisville. It was laid out by David Meriwether in 1871 and the first houses were built in 1891. Nearly all of the homes are shotgun houses. Its boundaries are the CSX railroad tracks to the north, Shelby Street to the east and I-65 to the west. Lincoln Park and Preston Park are located in the neighborhood. It is commonly referred to as part of greater Schnitzelburg. Meriwether is also sometimes confused with Louisville's Germantown and Saint Joseph's neighborhood.

St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church is a complex of historic buildings in the Shelby Park neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. The main church at 1207 South Shelby Street was purchased by Sojourn Community Church in 2010, which has since rehabilitated and occupied it as Sojourn Midtown. Several related properties were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984.

St. Xavier High School, colloquially known as St. X, is a Catholic all-boys, college preparatory Xaverian school in Louisville, Kentucky. It is located in the Archdiocese of Louisville. St. Xavier was founded in 1864 by Br. Paul Van Gerwen, C.F.X.The school is located at 1609 Poplar Level Road and is the only school in Kentucky that has received the Blue Ribbon of Excellence Award five times, the most recent of which was awarded in 2023. St. Xavier has also renovated the school grounds with Project X, an initiative to raise $28 million for new academic and athletic facilities. In total Project X raised $29.1 million for the school. In 2016, it was voted "Best Private High School" in the Louisville Magazine.

St. Therese of Lisieux Church is a historic Catholic church in Louisville, Kentucky. It belongs to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Louisville. The church, along with the associated school and rectory, was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1975.The historic listing includes the St. Therese School, built in 1906–08, which is a plain brick building that is the oldest building of the complex.

Shelby Park is a neighborhood two miles southeast of downtown Louisville, Kentucky USA named after Kentucky's first governor, Isaac Shelby. Shelby Park has always been considered a working-class neighborhood. It was first populated by German immigrants in the early 1900s. By the 1950s, the neighborhood was majority African American. Today, Shelby Park is a blend of ethnic and economic diversity. People from all walks of life co-exist in a vibrant, art-filled community. The Shelby Park neighborhood is known for its 17-acre park by the same name. Shelby Park was designed by the Olmsted Firm in 1907 and is the only Olmsted park in Louisville with a Carnegie library designed by Arthur Loomis. A gothic revival church at Oak and S. Shelby Streets constructed around 1886 is another architectural and historical landmark. Most of the residential homes in Shelby Park were constructed around 1900 to 1910 and are shotgun-style cottages and camelbacks, with some two-story brick federal style buildings in the mix, too. Shelby Park is home to Logan Street Market, Louisville's first and only year-round indoor market with food vendors, artisans, coffee bar, brewery and Farmer's Market located at Logan and Saint Catherine Streets in Shelby Park that opened its doors in October, 2019 Shelby Park is bounded by the CSX rail tracks, Kentucky Street, and I-65 and borders Germantown, Smoketown and Old Louisville. As of 2000, the population of Shelby Park was 3,204 [1].

Eleven Jones Cave is located by Beargrass Creek in Louisville, Kentucky. It is 1,600 feet (490 m) southeast of the corner of Eastern Parkway and Poplar Level Road on the west bank, between Louisville Cemetery and Calvary Cemetery, near St. Xavier High School. It is developed in Louisville Limestone 448 feet above sea level. A spring discharges water into Beargrass Creek.The cave is the best known and best documented in Jefferson County. It is popularly said to be named for being used by eleven brothers named Jones; however, some believe it was actually named from early residents Levin Powell and John Jones.The stoopway entrance that is 4.5 feet (1.4 m) high and 2.5 feet (0.76 m) wide leads to a forty-foot passage into a fairly normal limestone crawlway conduit cave. It is the only known habitat for the Louisville cave beetle, which is listed as a candidate for endangered species status.

Parkway Village is a home rule-class city in Jefferson County, Kentucky, United States, and a part of the Louisville Metro government. It was developed in the 1920s and incorporated in 1941. The population was 650 at the 2010 census.

The Louisville metropolitan area is the 43rd largest metropolitan statistical area (MSA) in the United States. It had a population of 1,395,855 in 2020 according to the latest official census, and its principal city is Louisville, Kentucky. The metropolitan area was originally formed by the United States Census Bureau in 1950 and consisted of the Kentucky county of Jefferson and the Indiana counties of Clark and Floyd. As surrounding counties saw an increase in their population densities and the number of their residents employed within Jefferson County, they met Census criteria to be added to the MSA. Jefferson County, Kentucky, plus eleven outlying counties – seven in Kentucky and four in Southern Indiana – are now a part of this MSA. Two other counties, one each in Kentucky and Indiana, were part of the MSA in the 2000 and 2010 U.S. Censuses, but were spun off by the Census Bureau into their own Micropolitan Statistical Areas in 2013 and 2018 respectively. The formal name given to the area by the Census Bureau is the Louisville–Jefferson County, Kentucky–Indiana, metropolitan statistical area, though it is regularly referred to as Kentuckiana. It is now the primary MSA of the Louisville/Jefferson County–Elizabethtown–Bardstown, KY-IN Combined Statistical Area, created by the United States Bureau of the Census in 2000 and recently redefined in 2018. The combined statistical area (CSA) adds the counties of Hardin County, Kentucky, LaRue County, Kentucky, Jefferson County, Indiana, and Nelson County, Kentucky and comprises the Louisville–Jefferson County MSA, the Elizabethtown–Fort Knox, Kentucky, MSA, the Bardstown, Kentucky, micropolitan statistical area and the Scottsburg, Indiana micropolitan statistical area. In 2020, the Census Bureau measured the combined statistical area's population at 1,601,309.

Lynn's Paradise Cafe was a restaurant in The Highlands neighborhood of Louisville, Kentucky. It had been open since 1991, originally in the Crescent Hill neighborhood, until it moved into a former grocery store in The Highlands. It had been featured on The Oprah Winfrey Show and Throwdown! with Bobby Flay on Food Network, where Lynn Winter, founder and chef, defeated Bobby Flay in a breakfast contest. It was known for its kitschy style in both decor and food. Both the exterior and interior were painted vividly and decorated eclectically. It was well known for its breakfast (fruit-sauced tropical French toast, Bourbon-ball French toast, and scrambled eggs with kielbasa whipped in are typical Lynn's fare), but also served lunch and dinner. Lynn's Paradise Cafe hosted many events throughout the year, and was especially busy for a New Year's Eve and New Year's Day pajama party. It sponsored the "Ugly Lamp Contest" at the Kentucky State Fair annually. It started when Winter was asked to judge the "Costume Poultry Show" at the Kentucky State Fair sponsored by Morton H Sachs investment manager of The Fairmont Fund; she felt that she could come up with something new. The restaurant closed for good on January 12, 2013, in the midst of a controversy over new tipping policies at the restaurant, and accusations of labor law violations.
