Munich Residenz

Eduard Meier GmbH (known as "Ed Meier") is a German shoemaking company. Founded in Munich in 1596, it is the oldest existing shoemaking company in the world.

Franke-Schenk is an art dealership and art gallery in Munich, Germany, which presents works of art from the 16th to the 20th centuries. The Kunstsalon came into being in 2009, after the merger of two companies.

The Feldherrnhalle (Field Marshals' Hall) is a monumental loggia on the Odeonsplatz in Munich, Germany. Modelled after the Loggia dei Lanzi in Florence, it was commissioned in 1841 by King Ludwig I of Bavaria to honour the tradition of the Bavarian Army. In 1923, it was the site of the brief battle that ended Hitler's Beer Hall Putsch. During the Nazi era, it served as a monument commemorating the death of 16 members of the Nazi party.

The Antiquarium was built from 1568 to house the ducal Collection of Classical Antiquities and Library as an extension of the Munich Residenz and was converted into a ballroom soon after. It is one of the most important surviving Renaissance collection buildings.

Drückebergergasse (English: "Shirker's Alley") is the popular name for Viscardigasse, a narrow, curbless pedestrian street, just over fifty metres long and paved with cobblestones throughout, in Munich, Germany. The street is officially named after the Swiss Baroque architect Giovanni Antonio Viscardi, but took its nickname from the 1930s, when locals could circumvent the nearby Nazi memorial to the martyrs of the 1923 Beer Hall Putsch, thus avoiding the requirement to render a Hitler salute to the guarded structure. The alley has a memorial to those who resisted such Nazi tyranny, installed in 1995, in the form of a line of bronze cobbles, "Argumente" (English: "Arguments"). It was designed by the artist Bruno Wank.

The Staatliches Museum Ägyptischer Kunst (German: [ˈʃtaːtlɪçəs muˈzeːʊm ʔɛˈɡʏptɪʃɐ ˈkʊnst], State Museum of Egyptian Art) is an archaeological museum in Munich. It contains the Bavarian state collection of ancient Egyptian art and displays exhibits from both the predynastic and dynastic periods. The associated small Middle East section displays objects from the areas of Assyrian and Babylonian culture. For decades, the Egyptian museum was located in the Munich Residenz, but it was moved to the Kunstareal in June 2013.

The Palais Preysing is a late-Baroque mansion in Munich, southern Germany, which served as residence for the Counts of Preysing. To distinguish it from the nearby Palais Neuhaus-Preysing, it is also called the Elder Palais Preysing. Joseph Effner built the mansion between 1723 and 1728 for the Count Johann Maximilian of Preysing opposite to the Residenz. It is Munich's first Rococo style palace. The exterior walls were embellished with stucco. Since its restoration after the destructions of World War II, the building houses shops and offices but the decorated stairway is open for the public.

The Odeonsplatz is a large square in central Munich which was developed in the early 19th century by Leo von Klenze and is at the southern end of the Ludwigstraße, developed at the same time. The square is named for the former concert hall, the Odeon, on its northwestern side. The name Odeonsplatz has come to be extended to the parvis (forecourt) of the Residenz, in front of the Theatine Church and terminated by the Feldherrnhalle, which lies to the south of it. The square was the scene of a fatal gun battle which ended the march on the Feldherrnhalle during the 1923 Beer Hall Putsch.

The Bavarian Ministry of the Interior, Sport and Integration (German: Bayerisches Staatsministerium des Innern, für Sport und Integration) is the interior ministry of Bavaria. It is headquartered in Munich, and was established on November 21, 1806 as the Departement des Innern. The first Minister of the Interior was Count Maximilian von Montgelas (until 1817). Since October 16, 2007, Joachim Herrmann (CSU) has been Minister of the Interior.

The Cuvilliés Theatre (German: Cuvilliés-Theater) or Old Residence Theatre (Altes Residenztheater) is the former court theatre of the Residenz in Munich, Bavaria, Germany.

The Residence Theatre (in German: Residenztheater) or New Residence Theatre (Neues Residenztheater) of the Residence in Munich was built from 1950 to 1951 by Karl Hocheder. The renovation of 1981 by Alexander von Branca removed the decoration which had been done in the typical style of the early 1950s.

Odeonsplatz is an important U-Bahn interchange station on the northern edge of Munich's Old Town. It is serviced by the , and , lines of the Munich U-Bahn system, with U 4 and U 5 running in an east-west direction and U3, U6 running perpendicular in a north-south direction. It is one of the Old Town's principal U-Bahn interchanges, the others being Sendlinger Tor on the southern periphery, Karlsplatz in the west and Marienplatz in the city centre. The station is also serviced by the Museumsline 100, a bus line that calls at several important museums throughout town. Moreover, the night service N40 calls at Odeonsplatz.
