Lucton

Lucton School, is an independent, co-educational, day and boarding school in Lucton near Leominster, Herefordshire, England. It was founded in 1708 as a boys' school and began admitting girls in the 1970s. It currently has c.350 pupils on roll, aged from six months to 18 years. The school operates as a registered charity and is a member of the Independent Schools Association, the Independent Association of Preparatory Schools, the Independent Schools Council Information Service and the Boarding Schools Association. Fees are currently £29,955 for full boarders, £24,750 for weekly boarders and £12,945 for day pupils.

Aymestrey ( AYM-stree) is a village and civil parish in north-western Herefordshire, England. The population of this civil parish, including the hamlet of Yatton, at the 2011 Census was 351.

Mortimer's Cross Water Mill is an 18th-century watermill located on the River Lugg, 11 km (7 mi) northwest of Leominster, Herefordshire, England. It is owned by Historic England and is in partial working order.

The Battle of Mortimer's Cross was fought on 2 February 1461 near Kingsland, Herefordshire (between Leominster and Leintwardine, by the River Lugg), not far from the Welsh border. It was a major battle of the Wars of the Roses. The opposing forces were an army led by Jasper Tudor and his father, Owen Tudor, and other nobles loyal to King Henry VI of the House of Lancaster, his wife, Margaret of Anjou, and their seven-year-old son, Edward, Prince of Wales, on one side, and the army of Edward, Earl of March. Some sources say it was fought on 3 February, and the exact location has been the subject of some speculation.

The Luctonians Cricket Club Ground in Kingsland, Herefordshire, England is the home ground of Luctonians Cricket Club. It has been used for senior cricket on only one occasion, when it staged the C&G Trophy match between Herefordshire and Middlesex in June 2001. The game was the scene of a remarkable three-wicket win for the minor county, achieved from the penultimate ball of the match. Herefordshire opening batsman Harshad Patel's 68 won him the man-of-the-match award. The ground has also been used by Herefordshire on a number of occasions for games in the Minor Counties Championship, MCC Trophy, ECB 38-County Cup and MCCA Knock-Out Trophy. Its ends are known as the "Orchard End" and the "Village End".

Croft Castle is a country house in the village of Croft, Herefordshire, England. Owned by the Croft family since 1085, the castle and estate passed out of their hands in the 18th century, before being repurchased by the family in 1923. In 1957 it was bequeathed to the National Trust. The castle is a Grade I listed building, and the estate is separately listed as Grade II*. The adjacent Church of St Michael is listed Grade I.

The Aymestrey burial was a beaker cist at Aymestrey, Herefordshire, England. The remains and objects are now in a recreated cist, at Leominster Museum.

Croft is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Croft and Yarpole, in north Herefordshire, England. In 1961 the parish had a population of 25. On 1 April 1987 the parish was abolished and merged with Yarpole to form "Croft & Yarpole".Croft Castle was built in the 14th century and was the seat of the Croft family.

Yatton is a hamlet in the civil parish of Aymestrey in north-western Herefordshire, England. In 1870–72 the township had a population of 214.The hamlet is located at 52°17′58″N 02°49′54″W, about 8 miles (13 km) north-west of Leominster and 12 miles (19 km) south-west of Ludlow. It is just off the A4110 road.

Kingsland railway station was a station in Kingsland, Herefordshire, England. The station was opened in 1856, closed to passengers in 1955 and closed completely in 1964.The station was located south of the village, on the A4110, just north of the Pinsley Brook.

Kingsland is a small village and civil parish in the English county of Herefordshire, 5 kilometres (3 mi) north-west of Leominster. The population of the civil parish at the 2011 census was 986.The village church was built during the reign of Edward I (1239–1307) by Edward, Lord Mortimer and is dedicated to St Michael. To the west of the church are the earthwork remains of a motte-and-bailey castle, known to locals as 'The Mound'. Mortimer Park, located just outside the village, is home to Luctonians Rugby Club who currently play in the fourth tier rugby union league, National League 2 West.
