Pontarddulais Park

Pontarddulais Comprehensive School is an 11–16 mixed comprehensive school situated in the town of Pontarddulais, Wales. It is maintained by the Local Education Authority (LEA), the City and County of Swansea. It is mainly fed by primary schools in Pontarddulais, Pontlliw, Penllergaer, Llangyfelach and Pengelli.

Pontarddulais (Welsh pronunciation: [pɔntarˈðɨːlais]), also known as Pontardulais (Welsh pronunciation: [pɔntarˈdɨːlais]), is both a community and a town in Swansea, Wales. It is 10 miles (16 km) northwest of the city centre. The Pontarddulais ward is part of the City and County of Swansea. Pontarddulais adjoins the village of Hendy in Carmarthenshire. The built-up population was 9,073.

Pontarddulais railway station serves the town of Pontarddulais and village of Hendy in Swansea, Wales. The station is located at street level not far from the town centre and the Loughor estuary. All trains serving the station are operated by Transport for Wales.

Pontarddulais is a name of an electoral ward and parish of the City and County of Swansea, south Wales. The parish of Pontarddulais has its own elected town council. The electoral ward covers the town of Pontarddulais and its surrounding rural areas, in the parliamentary constituency of Gower. The electoral ward is bounded by Mawr to the east; Llangyfelach to the south east; and Penyrheol to the south west. For the 2012 local council elections, the turnout for Pontarddulais was 39.01%. Hendy (Welsh: Yr Hendy) is a village in the community of Llanelli, Carmarthenshire, Wales. It is situated at the Carmarthenshire and the City and County of Swansea border. It lies on the Afon Gwili just across the River Loughor from Pontarddulais. Together with Fforest to the north, it forms part of a continuous built-up area centred on Pontarddulais. Most of the village sits between the M4 Motorway junction 48 and the A48 road (Fforest Road) north of the motorway.

Grovesend railway station served the village of Grovesend, in the historical county of Glamorganshire, Wales, from 1910 to 1932 on the Llanelly Railway.

Grovesend (Welsh: Pengelli; ) is a village in the community of Grovesend and Waungron (Welsh: Pengelli a Waungron), City and County of Swansea in Wales. The community has a population of 1,131.Over the last 100 years Grovesend has gone through the transition of being a big mining community to a quiet semi rural village. It is mainly a residential community, with the major amenity being the welfare club. Locals often travel to nearby areas such as Gorseinon or Pontarddulais for shopping. Grovesend also has a primary school, with about 100 pupils in, and a nursing home. Grovesend has one football team Pengelli FC. Despite being one of the last villages in the West part of Swansea, like many teams of the west they compete in the 'Camarthernshire league.

Llanedi () is a village and community in Carmarthenshire, Wales. Once the name of a parish, Llanedi is now a community taking in the hamlet of Llanedi and the villages of Hendy, Fforest (suburbs of Pontarddulais) and Tycroes. The community population taken at the 2011 census was 5,664. The community is located between Ammanford and Llanelli.The community is bordered by the communities of: Llangennech; Llannon; Llandybie; Ammanford; and Betws, all being in Carmarthenshire, and by: Mawr; Pontarddulais; and Grovesend and Waungron, all in the City and County of Swansea.The name of the parish church, St Edith's, is thought to have the same origin as the name of the village. There are no apparent traces of the original medieval church and substantial rebuilding took place in 1860, Richard Kyrke Penson being the architect.

The Afon Morlais is a small river in south Wales, a tributary of the River Loughor. It rises in the village of Cross Hands and then flows southwards through Tumble before turning south east through a rural wooded valley before passing through Llangennech and making its confluence with the River Loughor in its tidal reach. A minor road from Cil Ddewi to Blaenhiraeth crosses the river via a Grade II listed bridge.

On 26 August 2020 a freight train carrying diesel fuel and gas oil in tank wagons derailed at Morlais Junction, Llangennech, Carmarthenshire, Wales. Some of the derailed wagons caught fire, leading to an evacuation of people living nearby. There was widespread contamination from the spilled fuel. The clean-up operation was described by Natural Resources Wales as the most challenging since the Sea Empress oil spill in 1996. The accident was caused by defective brakes on a wagon causing an axle to seize, which in turn caused deformation of the track under the train as it travelled over a set of points. The Heart of Wales Line was closed for seven months as a result of the derailment.

Pont Lliw railway station served the village of Pontlliw, in the historical county of Glamorganshire, Wales, from 1923 to 1924 on the Swansea District Line.
