Sant'Angelo della Polvere (originally called Sant'Angelo di Concordia, later Sant'Angelo di Contorta and Sant'Angelo di Caotorta) is an island in the Venetian Lagoon, in the Contorta channel, not far from the Giudecca and the island of San Giorgio in Alga. An Italian state property, it has a surface of 0.53 ha and is home to four buildings.

Its name in the Italian and Venetian languages, Laguna Veneta—cognate of Latin lacus, "lake"—has provided the English name for an enclosed, shallow embayment of salt water, a lagoon.

San Giorgio in Alga (English: "St. George in the seaweed") is an island of the Venetian lagoon, northern Italy, lying between the Giudecca and Fusina (a frazione of Venice on the coast, near Marghera).

Sacca Sessola loosely translated as "Bailing-Scoop Cove" (also called "Isola delle Rose" or "Island of Roses" by the hotel which is located in on the island, it is not a name recognized by the Venetians, or on topographical maps) is an island in the Venetian Lagoon, northern Italy. One of the biggest in the lagoon (16.03 ha) and also one of the youngest. It was artificially created in 1870 in Codas of Reziol, a branch of the Channel Rezzo, with materials from the construction of the Santa Marta commercial port, and has been used a fuel dump, hospital, farming land, UNESCO research complex. The entire island now houses the JW Marriott Venice Resort and SpaA "sacca" or "bag" is an artificial island (see also Sacca Fisola and Sacca San Biagio).

Sacca San Biagio is an uninhabited island in the Venetian Lagoon which, like other "sacche" (Sacca Sessola, Sacca Fisola, etc.), is artificial. It lies immediately to the west of Sacca Fisola, to which it is connected by a bridge, and was built between the 1920s and the 1950s from trash. It hosted an trash incinerator from 1973 to 1985. It is now being improved, with proposals for a theme park and cultural center.

Poveglia ( poh-VEL-ee-ə; Italian: [poˈveʎʎa]) is a small island located between Venice and Lido in the Venetian Lagoon, of northern Italy. A small canal divides the island into two separate parts. The island first appears in the historical record in 421, and was populated until the residents fled warfare in 1379. For more than 100 years beginning in 1776, the island was used as a quarantine station for those suffering the plague and other diseases, and later as a mental hospital. The mental hospital closed in 1968, and the island has been vacant ever since. Because of its history, the island is frequently featured on paranormal shows. Visits to the island are prohibited, but various books and articles report on visits by writers and/or photographers. Believers in the paranormal have claimed that Poveglia is the most haunted island or the most haunted place in the world.

Sacca Fisola is an artificial island in the Venetian Lagoon. It is a largely modern residential area.

Santi Biagio e Cataldo or San Biagio e Cataldo was a church on the western corner of the Giudecca island in Venice, Italy. It was dedicated to saint Blaise and saint Catald.

Fusina hydrogen power station was a hydrogen-fueled power station located in Fusina, near Venice in the Veneto region of Italy. It was the first commercial-scale power station in the world that was fueled with pure hydrogen. The power station was operated by Enel.The plant only produced energy for less than two years and was decommissioned in 2018.The Fusina project was launched in 2004. Construction of the power station started in April 2008 and it became operational in August 2009. It was inaugurated on 12 July 2010. The plant is located adjacent to the Andrea Palladio Power Station. Fusina hydrogen power station has an installed capacity of 12 MW. An additional 4 MW could be generated in the Andrea Palladio Power Station through the reuse of steam produced by the hydrogen-fueled turbine. The power station is equipped by a General Electric combined-cycle gas engine.The hydrogen is provided from Versalis cracker, and the adjacent petrochemical facility of Porto Marghera.According to Fulvio Conti, CEO of Enel until May 2014, power produced at the Fusina hydrogen power station is 5–6 times more expensive than conventional electricity.

The Molino Stucky is a Neo-Gothic building in Venice, on the western end of Giudecca island, near the ancient village Fortuny. It was designed by Ernst Wullekopf and built between 1884 and 1895 by the Swiss businessman Giovanni Stucky, whose father had married into the Italian Forti family and moved to the Veneto. It was first built as a flour mill supplied by boats across the lagoon and also operated as a pasta factory. Extensions were added in 1895 but it began to decline in the 1910s before being permanently closed in 1955. It was taken on by the Acqua Pia Antica Marcia company (part of the Acqua Marcia Group) in 1994 and a restoration by the Sovrintendenza alle Belle Arti began in 1998. The company went into partnership with the Hilton Hotels chain in the mid-2000s, with a plan to turn it into a hotel and conference centre with 379 rooms, a rooftop swimming pool and a two-thousand seat conference room. Renovation work was already underway when a major fire hit on 15 April 2003, damaging the tower and the centre of the building, whilst the east wall almost collapsed into the canal. The complex opened in June 2007 and in autumn 2015 the Acqua Marcia Group went into receivership and moves to sell the complex began. As of today, the complex houses the Hilton Molino Stucky, a five-star hotel.

Iuav University of Venice (Italian: Università Iuav di Venezia) is a university in Venice, Italy. It was founded in 1926 as the Istituto Universitario di Architettura di Venezia as one of the first Architecture schools in Italy. The university currently offers several undergraduate, graduate and higher education courses in Architecture, Urban Planning, Fashion, Arts, and Design.It is a design-themed university focusing on the teaching, research, and practice of the design of living spaces and environments (buildings, cities, landscapes and territory) and in the design of everyday use objects, of fashion and of graphics. It has also a more recent courses in visual arts, theatre and performing arts, and multimedia events.

San Nicolò dei Mendicoli ("Saint Nicholas of the Beggars") is a church, which is located in the sestiere of Dorsoduro in Venice.
