Bendinat is a seaside village in the municipality of Calvià on the west coast of the island of Majorca, part of the Spanish autonomous community of the Balearic Islands. It is located at the foot of the Serra de Na Burguesa. Much of Bendinat is a residential area, and it is situated next to the town of Portals Nous. Its major thoroughfare is the county road C-719. The population is approximately 521.There are two main theories surrounding Bendinat's naming origin. An ethnological one is that after the 12 September 1229 battle for the conquest of Majorca, King James of Aragon, who was famished, came upon a tent with one of his lieutenants where a meal was being prepared. The host for that meal was Oliver de Termes, a Frenchman of Roussillon. After eating to their satisfaction, the king declared Ben dinat (Catalan: "well dined"). The other naming theory is geographical in context as in the 13th century, an old Islamic farmhouse in the area was named Bendinex.

Palma Nova (Balearic Catalan pronunciation: [ˈpalmə ˈnɔvə]; "New Palma") is a town on the Spanish Balearic island of Mallorca, in the municipality of Calvià. Palma Nova was one of the first purpose-built tourist destinations on the island, catering for all tastes. The town is frequented by a range of socio-economic groups due to the proximity with both the city of Palma and the resort of Magaluf. Palma Nova Beach is seven kilometers (4.3 mi) from Calvià, situated between Punta Nadala and es Carregador, on the Spanish Balearic island of Majorca. Besides Palmanova beach, other names by which the beach is known include "Playa de Palma Nova", and "Platja de Palma Nova". The Palma Nova sea front has three beaches: Torrenova, Es Carregador, and Palma Nova. The beach has had an extension of 500 meters (1,600 ft) and has needed an artificial regeneration to achieve the current aspect of fine and white sand, as well as its dimensions.

Isla de sa Porassa is located in the bay of the village of Magaluf, Majorca, Spain.

Magaluf (, Catalan: [məɣəˈluf], Spanish: [maɣaˈluf]) is a major holiday resort on the Spanish island of Majorca, primarily catering to the British, Russian, Irish, German, and Scandinavian package holiday market. Magaluf is in the municipality of Calvià and is situated within a group of towns, primarily Torrenova and Palma Nova. Son Sant Joan Airport – Majorca's main airport – is 24 kilometres (15 mi) from Magaluf.

Serra de Na Burguesa (Balearic Catalan pronunciation: [ˈsɛrə ðə nə buɾˈɣəzə], formerly Serra de Portopí or Sierra de Porto Pi, meaning "Port of Pine Mountain") is a well-defined mountain on the island of Majorca, part of the Spanish autonomous community of the Balearic Islands. It is the southernmost portion of the Serra de Tramuntana range, terminating in the Mediterranean Sea at Bay of Palma. Na Burguesa is located approximately halfway between Santa Ponsa and Palma. The municipality of Calvià is located between Na Burguesa and Serra de Tramuntana.

The 2009 Palma Nova bombing occurred on July 30, 2009, when a limpet bomb went off outside a Civil Guard barracks in the town of Palma Nova, Majorca, Spain. The bomb was placed under a patrol car and two Civil Guard officers died as a result of the explosion. A second device was found under another Civil Guard vehicle at nearby barracks and safely exploded by police. On August 9, the Basque nationalist and separatist organisation ETA claimed responsibility for the attack, while four other bombs exploded around restaurants and shopping centres in Palma, Majorca, causing no injuries. The bombing was ETA's first attack in Majorca since it tried to kill King Juan Carlos I in the summer of 1995, and its deadliest attack since it killed two Civil Guard officers in Capbreton, France in 2007. The attack came on the eve of the 50th anniversary of ETA's founding, and days before the King's yearly visit to Majorca.

Magaluf Beach (Catalan: Platja de Magaluf, IPA: [ˈpladʒə ðə məɣəˈluf]; Spanish: Playa de Magaluf) is the name of the beach in the tourist resort of Magaluf. Holiday accommodation, nightclubs and other services aimed at mass tourism make up the urban landscape of the beach. It also receives a massive influx of local swimmers. Magaluf beach is one kilometer long and is made of fine white sand. Originally, the beach landscape was an unattractive looking marshland, its current state is the product of artificial regeneration. A half mile from the coast of Magalluf beach is Porrassa Islet, which served as a refuge for the fleet of King James I before he landed in Santa Ponsa in 1229. The area north of the bay is open to winds from the east-southeast to the anchoring of boats on sandy and algae to a depth ranging between two and five meters. Islet Porrassa protects the beach from wind, although a little wind blows in from the east.

The Fundació Miró Mallorca (Miró Mallorca Foundation) is a museum in Palma de Mallorca, dedicated to the work of the artist Joan Miró. It comprises a main building exhibiting 6000 works donated by the artist, including paintings and sculptures, a library, a sculpture garden, Miró's studio Sert, and the Finca Son Boter. Miró's mother and wife were from Majorca. He settled on the island in 1956. The studio Sert was designed for Miró by Josep Lluís Sert in the same year and was used by the artist until his death in 1983. In 1959 Miró bought the nearby Finca Son Boter which he also used as an atelier; his graffiti on the walls can still be seen. The foundation was created in 1981 by Joan Miró and his wife Pilar Juncosa. The museum, designed by Rafael Moneo, was built in 1992.

The Battle of Portopí (12 September 1229) was an open field military conflict between the Almohad troops that occupied the island of Majorca and the Christian army led by King James I the Conqueror with the aim of annexing it to the Crown of Aragon in order to expand their domain. It was carried out at various points in the current Sierra de Na Burguesa (formerly called Sierra de Portopí), approximately halfway between the current resort town of Santa Ponsa and the City of Majorca (present Palma de Mallorca). It was the second major battle in the campaign for the conquest of the island of Majorca initiated by the Aragonese king.

Bellver Castle (Catalan: Castell de Bellver) is a Gothic-style castle on a hill 3 km to the west of the center of Palma on the Island of Majorca, Balearic Islands, Spain. It was built in the 14th century for King James II of Majorca, and is one of the few circular castles in Europe. First serving as the residence of the Kings of Majorca, and afterward long used as a military prison throughout the 18th to mid-20th century, it is now under civilian control, being one of the main tourist attractions of the island, as well as the seat for the city's History Museum.
