Thil, Ain

Côtière or Côtière de l'Ain is a natural region located southwest of the department of Ain, France. It is along a slope of about forty kilometers, beginning with the balcony of Croix-Rousse and ending in Meximieux. The main cities are Miribel, Montluel and Meximieux. Pérouges is member of Les Plus Beaux Villages de France.

Beynost station (French: Gare de Beynost) is a French railway station located in commune of Beynost, Ain department in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. It is located at kilometric point (KP) 20.966 on the Lyon-Geneva railway. As of 2020, the station is owned and operated by the SNCF and served by TER Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes trains.

Beynost (French pronunciation: [beno] ) is a commune in the Ain department, Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in eastern France. The commune is approximately 15 km from Lyon, and part of the unité urbaine de Lyon. Historically, Beynost is also part of the naturally forming region of Côtière. Beynost station has rail connections to Lyon, Ambérieu-en-Bugey and Chambéry.

La Boisse (French pronunciation: [la bwas] ; Arpitan: La Bouesse) is a commune in the Ain department in eastern France.

The Saint-Maurice-de-Beynost textile and chemical plant, now known as the Toray de Saint-Maurice-de-Beynost plant, was founded in 1929 in Saint-Maurice-de-Beynost, in the Ain department. It was originally the second factory of Société lyonnaise de soie artificielle (SLSA), which soon became Société lyonnaise de textiles (SLT) and then Comptoir des textiles artificiels (CTA). In 1959, the plant was taken over by La Cellophane and converted to chemical production (paper film). La Cellophane was subsequently taken over by Rhône-Poulenc, and since 1996 by Toray Films Europe. Construction of the plant in the late 1920s, followed by actual production, led to a large influx of workers to Saint-Maurice-de-Beynost; the population quintupled in five years, from around 300 in 1926 to over 1,500 in 1931. The presence of the factory had a strong influence on the town, both in terms of housing and social life. In 2022, the plant remains Saint-Maurice-de-Beynost's main employer, with approximatively employees.

Meyzieu (French pronunciation: [mɛzjø]; Arpitan: Mêsiô) is a commune in the Metropolis of Lyon in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region in eastern France. It is a large suburb of Lyon, situated 13 km east of the city centre on the left bank of the Rhône. Before 1967, it was part of the Isère department.

Saint-Maurice-de-Beynost (French pronunciation: [sɛ̃ mɔʁis də beno] ; literally "Saint-Maurice of Beynost") is a commune in the Ain department, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region, located at about 15 km (9 mi) from Lyon. The commune is included in the canton of Miribel and in the intercommunality of communauté de communes de Miribel et du Plateau. A small farming village at the beginning of the 20th century, the commune of Saint-Maurice-de-Beynost became an industrial town in the 1920s, following the construction of the second textile factory of the "Lyon Society of Artificial Silk". The need for workers in this factory led to a quadrupling of the population in just five years, between 1926 and 1931. Today, the factory, which belongs to the Japanese group Toray Industries, is still the main employer in the city with nearly five hundred employees. The inhabitants of Saint-Maurice-de-Beynost are called Mauriciens.
