Church of Santiago (Sariego)

San Román is one of three parishes in Sariego, a municipality within the province and autonomous community of Asturias, in northern Spain. It is 5 kilometres (3.1 mi) from Vega, the municipal capital.It is 6.55 km2 (2.53 sq mi) in size, with a population of 239 (INE 2005). The postal code is 33518.

Sariego (Asturian: Sariegu) is a municipality in the Autonomous Community of the Principality of Asturias, Spain. It is bordered on the north by Gijón and Villaviciosa, on the east by Villaviciosa, Nava and Cabranes, on the south by Siero and Nava, and on the west by Siero. The source of the Nora River is within the municipality. The principal holidays are that of Santiago (the weekend before July 25) and San Pedrín de la Cueva (the third Sunday in August). The principal monuments of Sariego are the churches of Santiago el Mayor, San Román, and Santa María de Narzana, all of which are constructed in a Romanesque style. The Palacio de los Vigil Quiñones, erected in the 16th century, is also notable.

Its territory includes the Nora River, a tributary of the River Fal-Miravete. Located along the National Highway N-634, Lieres is 8 km (5.0 mi) from the capital of Siero, Pola de Siero, and 5 km (3.1 mi) from the town of Nava, Asturias.The villages within the Lieres parish are split by the N-634 highway. Les Faces, La Pedrera, Solvay, La Fresneda, El Cuitu, El Rebollar, La Cruz, El Acebal (L'Acebal, Espinera), La Cigüeta, El Monte, Los Barracks, The Slash, Campiello (Campiellu, Cotaya), El Pino, La Cabaña, and Faya are on one side, while Quintanal d'Arriba, Quintanal d'Abaxu, The Court, The Ventuca The Moldano, Sacadiella, Sorrobín, La Cuesta, El Recuncu, Piñuli, and Curuxeu the Cubiella are on the other. The Lieres to Novalín rail line was formally opened November 13, 1891. With the later closure of mines, Lieres' small line rail, linking its mine with Reano, fell into disuse. The railroad was renovated in more recent years.

Monasterio de Santa María de Valdediós is a 13th-century Cistercian monastery near Villaviciosa of the autonomous community of the Principality of Asturias, in Spain. The monastery and town is on the coast of Biscay Bay in northern Spain. It is a Site of Cultural Interest, the maximum category of heritage protection in Spanish legislation.It contains the Iglesia de Santa María (Valdediós). The monastery is next to the Church of San Salvador de Valdediós. The Spanish term Valdediós means God's valley in English.

Iglesia de Santa María (Valdediós) is a church in Villaviciosa, Asturias, Spain. It is within the Monasterio de Santa María de Valdediós. The only three Romanesque altars in Asturias are preserved in the church. It is a Romanesque-style Cistercian church built in the 13th century. The church is made up of three naves with semicircular apses and ribbed vaults. The church is the only element that survives from the initial construction of the monastery, because the other buildings that made up the group deteriorated due to successive floods in the area.

The church of the Holy Savior of Valdediós (Spanish: Iglesia de San Salvador de Valdediós) is a Roman Catholic pre-romanesque church, located next to Villaviciosa, Asturias, Spain. The church stands in the Boides valley (Villaviciosa), the place where Alfonso III of Asturias was detained when he was dispossessed by his sons, and where there used to be an old convent governed by the Benedictine Order, substituted in the 13th century by the Cistercians. The church known as the "Bishops' Chapel" was consecrated on 16 September 893, with seven bishops in attendance. The church is next to the Monasterio de Santa María de Valdediós.

Feleches (variant: Thomas Feleches) is a parish (administrative division) in Siero, a municipality within the province and autonomous community of Asturias, in northern Spain. It is situated at 254 m (833 ft) above sea level. The population is 797 (INE 2006). The postal code is 33119.Feleches is divided in two by the national highway N-634. The parish is serviced by the FEVE rail transport system. It is located 7 km (4.3 mi) from the capitol, Pola de Siero. To the east, the River Nora, a tributary of the River Fal-Miravete, separates Feleches from the Lieres parish. Feleches is bounded on the north by Collado, on the south by Trespa, and to the west by Aramil.

The Cider Museum (Spanish: Museo de la Sidra) is located in the Plaza del Príncipe de Asturias in Nava, Asturias, Spain. Opened in 1996 by Prince Philip, it is a themed museum that showcases Asturian national drink, cider. The museum is a member of the Ethnographic Museums Network of Asturias. Interactive exhibits cover the entire process of cider creation, from growing apples, through pressing, fermenting, bottling, to consumption of this alcoholic beverage. There is an area devoted to sparkling cider. The museum also focuses on issues such as pollination and the development of apple trees. Summer and winter hours vary.
