Chalkhill Estate

Brent Town Hall, formerly Wembley Town Hall, is a landmark building in Wembley Park in the London Borough of Brent, northwest London, England. The building is T-shaped, with a long façade on Forty Lane. The building was the seat of Brent London Borough Council until 2013 and is now occupied by the Lycée International de Londres Winston Churchill. It is a Grade II listed building.

The London Borough of Brent (pronunciation ) is a London borough in north-west London. It borders the boroughs of Harrow to the north-west, Barnet to the north-east, Camden to the east, the City of Westminster to the south-east, as well as the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Hammersmith and Fulham and Ealing to the south. Most of the eastern border is formed by the Roman road Watling Street, which is now the modern A5. Brent's population is estimated to be 329,771. Major districts are Kilburn, Willesden Wembley and Harlesden, with sub-districts Stonebridge, Kingsbury, Kensal Green and Queen's Park. Brent has a mixture of residential, industrial and commercial land. It includes many districts of inner-city character in the east and a more distinct suburban character in the west, part of which formed part of the early 20th century Metroland developments. Today Brent is known for being home to Wembley Stadium, the country's largest stadium by capacity, as well as other landmarks such as the Kiln Theatre, the Swaminarayan Temple and Wembley Arena. Other notable places are the Welsh Harp reservoir and the Park Royal commercial estate. The local authority is Brent London Borough Council.

Lycée International de Londres Winston Churchill, a fully bilingual international school based in Wembley, London, England, opened its doors in September 2015. It welcomes students from 3 to 18 years old and prepares them for the French Baccalauréat, the Baccalauréat with OIB (Option Internationale du Baccalauréat) and the International Baccalaureate Diploma programme (IBDP). The school offers a unique setup for the new Early Years programme to children entering pre-reception and reception years (3 to 5 years old) from September 2020 by teaching conjointly French and English by two native-speaker teachers present at all times. Registered Charity No 1160719, The Lycée International de Londres Winston Churchill occupies the former Brent Town Hall, a conversion of a Grade II listed building.

Wembley was an urban district and later a municipal borough in Middlesex, England from 1894 to 1965.

Exhibition Station (Wembley) was a railway station in Wembley Park in what is now the London Borough of Brent. It was built on a spur to connect the 1924-5 British Empire Exhibition to London Marylebone. Exhibition Station opened on 28 April 1923, the day of Wembley Stadium's first FA cup final. It was later renamed Wembley Exhibition, and then, in February 1928, Wembley Stadium (now the name of the former Wembley Hill station). It was only really used to transport spectators to Wembley events. It stopped carrying passengers in May 1968 and officially closed on 1 September 1969.

Wembley Park Cricket Ground was a cricket ground in Wembley Park, Wembley, London (formerly Middlesex). The first and only recorded match on the ground was in 1896, when Wembley Park Cricket Club played the touring Australians in what was Wembley Park's only appearance in first-class cricket. The ground was located in the northern area of Wembley Park. The whole area where it was situated was developed for the British Empire Exhibition and Wembley Stadium, and where the ground stood is today covered by the Wembley Retail Park.

Ark Academy is a mixed all-through school located in Wembley, London, in the London Borough of Brent, England.The school was established in 2010 by Ark, one of the first new schools to be established under the academies programme. Ark Academy offers primary, secondary and sixth form education to pupils aged 3 to 18. The primary phase of the school is located on Forty Avenue while the secondary phase is located on Bridge Road. The schools most recent addition of its sixth form building was opened in early 2016 on Forty Avenue. In February 2016 Ark Academy was named as one of the top 100 non-selective state schools in England.

Michaela Community School (simply referred to as MCS or Michaela) is an 11–18 mixed, free secondary school and sixth form in Wembley, Greater London, England. It was established in September 2014 with Katharine Birbalsingh as headmistress. It is described as the "strictest school in Britain" and achieved among the best GCSE results in the nation among its first cohort of students.

Old St Andrew's Church, Kingsbury, is a Romanian Orthodox and former Anglican church in Kingsbury in the London Borough of Brent, Greater London, England. It is recorded in the National Heritage List for England as a designated Grade I listed building, and is under the care of the Churches Conservation Trust.

Wembley Park is a district of the London Borough of Brent, England. It is roughly centred on Bridge Road, a mile northeast of Wembley town centre and 7.6 miles (12 km) northwest from Charing Cross. The name Wembley Park refers to the area that, at its broadest, falls within the limits of a late 18th-century landscaped estate in northern Wembley in the historic Middlesex county. Part of this estate became the location of development in the 1890s after being sold to Edward Watkin and the Metropolitan Railway cutting through the area. Wembley Park was developed into a pleasure and events destination for urban Londoners, with a large fairground made there. It was later also a key area of the Metro-land suburban development in the 1920s - the same decade Empire Stadium was built and the British Empire Exhibition was held. Wembley Park continues to be a recreational centre today, being home to Wembley Stadium, England's primary football stadium and a major sports and entertainment venue; as well as Wembley Arena, a concert venue; among others. Today the area continues new retail and housing development schemes near the stadium complex that have started since the early 2000s. The Chalkhill housing estate is also located in the area. The east is home to large industrial land, called Stadium Industrial Estate, adjacent to Brent Park; whereas to its north lies Fryent Country Park and to its north-east the Welsh Harp.

Wembley Park is a London Underground station in Wembley Park, north west London. The station is served by the Underground's Metropolitan and Jubilee Lines and is in Travelcard Zone 4. It is located on Bridge Road (A4089) and is the nearest Underground station to the Wembley Stadium and Wembley Arena complex. This is where the Jubilee line from Stanmore diverges from the Metropolitan line which was formerly a branch of the Metropolitan Railway and was taken over by the Bakerloo line and today part of the Jubilee line.

Neasden Power Station was a coal-fired power station built by the Metropolitan Railway for its electrification project. It was opened in December 1904. It was within the site of the current London Underground Neasden Depot. The station was commissioned in 1904 with three British Westinghouse turbo-generators rated at 3,500 kW each. Two 5,000 kW sets were added five years later. The station was further upgraded in 1912 when the original turbines were replaced.Along with Lots Road Power Station and Greenwich power station, Neasden power station supplied the whole London Passenger Transport Board network from its formation in 1933. Coal for the power station was brought in by trains, initially by the Metropolitan Railway using its fleet of steam locomotives, from June 1935 by the London & North Eastern Railway, and from 1948 British Rail. By 1957 the plant comprised eleven boilers, five were chain grate stokers and six were heavy fuel oil. The total evaporative capacity was 880,000 lb/hr (111 kg/s). These supplied 3 × 20 MW, 1 × 16.5 MW and 1 × 13.2 MW generating sets, a total capacity of 89.7 MW. Electricity was generated at 11 kV, 33.33 Hz.Condenser cooling was undertaken in nine wooden cooling towers, their cooling capacity was 2.627 million gallons per hour (0.33 m3/s).The power station ceased generating in 1968.
