Wembley Park

Wembley Park is a London Underground station in Wembley Park, north west London. The station is served by the Underground's Metropolitan and Jubilee Lines and is in Travelcard Zone 4. It is located on Bridge Road (A4089) and is the nearest Underground station to the Wembley Stadium and Wembley Arena complex. This is where the Jubilee line from Stanmore diverges from the Metropolitan line which was formerly a branch of the Metropolitan Railway and was taken over by the Bakerloo line and today part of the Jubilee line.

Michaela Community School (simply referred to as MCS or Michaela) is an 11–18 mixed, free secondary school and sixth form in Wembley, Greater London, England. It was established in September 2014 with Katharine Birbalsingh as headmistress. It is described as the "strictest school in Britain" and achieved among the best GCSE results in the nation among its first cohort of students.

Ark Academy is a mixed all-through school located in Wembley, London, in the London Borough of Brent, England.The school was established in 2010 by Ark, one of the first new schools to be established under the academies programme. Ark Academy offers primary, secondary and sixth form education to pupils aged 3 to 18. The primary phase of the school is located on Forty Avenue while the secondary phase is located on Bridge Road. The schools most recent addition of its sixth form building was opened in early 2016 on Forty Avenue. In February 2016 Ark Academy was named as one of the top 100 non-selective state schools in England.

Olympic Way, often incorrectly known as Wembley Way, is the road that links Wembley Park tube station and Wembley Stadium in Wembley Park, London, England. Thousands of spectators walk along it to every event as the road leads directly into the stadium. The road is an easy access from the London Underground system at Wembley Park to the stadium, and travels in a north–south direction. The road also allows pedestrians an easy access to London Designer Outlet from the station. Olympic Way was built several years after World War II by German POWs still held captive by the UK. Originally they were intended to be used for picking up refuse during the 1948 Summer Olympics, but their duties were changed due to criticism in the press; "It is fair to assume that the Ministry of Labour will think very hard before intending for a slave squad to operate quite so publicly and before quite so many overseas visitors." Instead they were put on less visible construction details.

Fountain Studios was an independently owned television studio in Wembley Park, northwest London. The company was last part of the Avesco Group plc. Several companies owned the site before it was bought by Fountain in 1993. Originally a film studio complex, it was formerly the base for the ITV contractors Rediffusion from 1955 to 1968, and London Weekend Television from 1968 to 1972. More recently, the studios were best known for being the venue for the live stages of ITV shows The X Factor and Britain's Got Talent. Other programmes made at Fountain include The Cube and the British Comedy Awards. Fountain Studios has also hosted Pop Idol, Test the Nation and The Kumars at No. 42. The last show to be broadcast live (and recorded) at the studios was The X Factor on 4 December 2016, after which the studio was closed, and the site sold to property developer Quintain.

Wembley Park Cricket Ground was a cricket ground in Wembley Park, Wembley, London (formerly Middlesex). The first and only recorded match on the ground was in 1896, when Wembley Park Cricket Club played the touring Australians in what was Wembley Park's only appearance in first-class cricket. The ground was located in the northern area of Wembley Park. The whole area where it was situated was developed for the British Empire Exhibition and Wembley Stadium, and where the ground stood is today covered by the Wembley Retail Park.

The British Empire Exhibition was a colonial exhibition held at Wembley Park, London England from 23 April to 1 November 1924 and from 9 May to 31 October 1925.

Brent Civic Centre is the headquarters of Brent London Borough Council, situated on Engineers Way in the Wembley Park area of the London Borough of Brent. It was opened in 2013, replacing the former headquarters at Brent Town Hall located a mile north on Forty Lane.

The Bobby Moore statue is a bronze sculpture of the former West Ham and England footballer Bobby Moore, situated directly outside England's national stadium, Wembley Stadium, in Wembley Park, north-west London. It commemorates the life of Moore, who captained the only England side ever to win the World Cup, defeating Germany 4–2 in the 1966 FIFA World Cup Final held in England at the old Wembley Stadium, demolished in 2003. Commissioned by the Football Association, it was unveiled outside the new stadium when it opened in 2007, fourteen years after Moore's death from cancer, aged 51. Standing 20 feet (6.1 m) tall on a stone plinth, it looks out over spectators as they walk down Wembley Way into the stadium. Sculpted by the Royal Sculptor Philip Jackson, it is Jackson's second piece featuring Moore, after the World Cup Sculpture unveiled in 2003.

Lycée International de Londres Winston Churchill, a fully bilingual international school based in Wembley, London, England, opened its doors in September 2015. It welcomes students from 3 to 18 years old and prepares them for the French Baccalauréat, the Baccalauréat with OIB (Option Internationale du Baccalauréat) and the International Baccalaureate Diploma programme (IBDP). The school offers a unique setup for the new Early Years programme to children entering pre-reception and reception years (3 to 5 years old) from September 2020 by teaching conjointly French and English by two native-speaker teachers present at all times. Registered Charity No 1160719, The Lycée International de Londres Winston Churchill occupies the former Brent Town Hall, a conversion of a Grade II listed building.

Wembley was an urban district and later a municipal borough in Middlesex, England from 1894 to 1965.

The London Borough of Brent (pronunciation ) is a London borough in north-west London. It borders the boroughs of Harrow to the north-west, Barnet to the north-east, Camden to the east, the City of Westminster to the south-east, as well as the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, Hammersmith and Fulham and Ealing to the south. Most of the eastern border is formed by the Roman road Watling Street, which is now the modern A5. Brent's population is estimated to be 329,771. Major districts are Kilburn, Willesden Wembley and Harlesden, with sub-districts Stonebridge, Kingsbury, Kensal Green and Queen's Park. Brent has a mixture of residential, industrial and commercial land. It includes many districts of inner-city character in the east and a more distinct suburban character in the west, part of which formed part of the early 20th century Metroland developments. Today Brent is known for being home to Wembley Stadium, the country's largest stadium by capacity, as well as other landmarks such as the Kiln Theatre, the Swaminarayan Temple and Wembley Arena. Other notable places are the Welsh Harp reservoir and the Park Royal commercial estate. The local authority is Brent London Borough Council.
